I needed three Indian wedding tops adjusted, and trekked all the way here from Astoria at the…read morerecommendation of a friend. Two of the tops needed to be let out, and one needed to be taken in. All of these tops came with additional material on the inside, so I thought this was going to be less expensive than what it ended up being. Store wise, it's a fairly small shop, with just a curtain to step into and put around yourself while trying things on. My tailor worked quickly to pin the tops where necessary. They were done in about a week, and 2/3 were perfect when I came back in to try them on. One of them had broken clasps at the top (that were busted before I brought them in, though I hadn't realized) and the tailor who was there quickly stitched on some new clasps to fix it. I paid $120 for all three, which I think would've been less if had I taken my chances in Jackson Heights. I'd trust these people with high stakes tailoring like a bridesmaids dress.

You're a WIZARD, Fabian!…read more Needed to get suit pants altered for a business trip. Needed it done while I wait. On a SUNDAY! No other place could help but I called Orchard Street tailors (that's what they were called in most places online) and they responded. Gave me a reasonable quote over the phone (via text) and I rushed over. Then a problem - the pants had no more fabric to let out. Most places would stop there. But Fabian pulled extra fabric from the hem without even shortening the pants. Hence, he's a wizard. Got it done in about 30 mins while I waited. Super professional and friendly. We chatted while he worked. Great guy. I'm a brand-new customer and this was the service! I'm blown away. Really glad I found this place and Fabian.

After calling around to a handful of different shops, I was getting fearful that nobody could help me with my suit jacket. Hong Kong was unlike the others. Although it was a big ask, and she was going to have to work fast and hard to get the job done she took the challenge in stride. I was able to not only get my suit jacket back in time, but have it look fantastic. I would highly recommend Hong Kong Tailors for all your alterations, tailoring and dry cleaning.

Eduardo and his team are true magicians and masters of their craft. I brought them a dress that I…read moredidn't think could be altered because of the complexity of the design and lack of extra fabric. After a complicated pinning and talking through ways they could approach the alteration, I didn't know how it would turn out. When I picked up the dress yesterday, I found an impeccably altered dress- you could not see how it had been altered. It was beyond what I had thought was ever possible and fit perfectly. It's hard to find tailors that understand the details and nuances of fashion items, but they excel at the details and intent of designs. It's also hard to find tailors that you can trust with more expensive and complicated items. Happy to say that Eduardo and his team can do it all. When I was there, I saw people bringing in the easiest of alterations (e.g. a new waistband for sweatpants) to most complex. I honestly can't thank them enough and am now a customer for life.

Until that happens, there is LNC Tailor Shop. LNC is an expert tailoring shop, but no job seems too small for them. I was there recently to have two pairs of pants hemmed. When I arrived to pick them up, they were having an especially busy week--as they often are--and the pants were not quite ready. They asked if I could wait a few minutes, but I was rushed. Jess, the owner, immediately stepped in and said she would personally arrange to have them delivered to my home that evening. At 9 PM, I received a text from Clint, one of her staff members, saying he was downstairs with my freshly hemmed pants. That is next-level customer service. LNC is a class act.

I gave them a shot at the title and let me tell you that this place is (expletive) AMAZING!!!! When I got the price at first, I was a little shocked but I didn't bring a cheap suit for my first alteration and even if I did, it would have been worth it. To bring these pants from what looked like John Travolta "Saturday Night Fever" bell bottoms to the picture below and keep those squares and stripes so precise? Such a gift!! The best part of it all was the lady in front of me picking up what looked like a Vera Wang wedding dress (don't quote me) saying it fits so nice that she'd get married twice, just to wear it again! No joke at how amazing and professional these Tailors are.
