had the opportunity to pass through philly and just had to stop by! got to try LEO'S CHẢ HANOI BURGER which was amazing! we got it very fresh so we were burning our mouths in the car devouring it at a rapid pace. wanted to get their fries but they were sold out!!! so got a banh mi instead - definitely a solid banh mi, not the best ive ever had but still very good! the burger just blew it out of the park honestly. we also had some drinks from the specials menu - the guava espresso tonic and the jasmine milk matcha! i think these were so good but i would want to try something else next time! it was super busy - i placed my order for pickup ASAP, and it was due to be ready 50 min later (not a problem). when i arrived, i had to ask the barista to make my order, which i think they tried to push out quick. i didnt end up waiting toooo long! while i waited, i went to the bathroom, which was flooded!!!! but the other stalls were "fine" - luckily there were a bunch of bathrooms but they can be a bit icky! there is also usually parking right outside caphe, there is a teeny parking spot and some street parking available. read more

I stopped by Caphe Roasters with a few friends after seeing it all over social media. The place was definitely living up to the hype--the line was literally out the door when we arrived. It ended up taking about 45 minutes just to place our order, although the drinks themselves came out in around 10 minutes once we ordered. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the egg foam coffee, which was the item I was most excited to try. Instead, I ordered the Salted Brûlée Cà Phê, and it was excellent. The coffee was rich, flavorful, and tasted like a truly authentic Vietnamese iced coffee. Easily one of the better cà phê drinks I've had. The interior is beautifully designed with plenty of seating, and it seemed like a great place to hang out and catch up with friends. We would have stayed longer, but the wait took up most of our available time. Their snack menu also looked really unique, and I'd love to come back to try some of those items. A couple downsides: parking was a challenge since it's mostly street parking, and the location is a bit out of the way from Center City. It's not the easiest place to get to unless you're driving. Overall, the drinks were very good and the space was welcoming, but I don't think the experience was worth a nearly hour-long wait. Wow, this place gets BUSY ever since they went viral on TikTok and Instagram. On weekends especially, the line genuinely never seems to slow down, so definitely expect a wait for both food and drinks. That being said, the team really does their best to get everything out as quickly as possible despite how packed it gets. Finding a table on weekends can also be pretty difficult, so I'd keep that in mind before going. As for the actual food and drinks, I've enjoyed most of the drinks I've tried here. I also love that they're always coming out with seasonal drinks and food specials, which keeps the menu fun and interesting. Definitely worth keeping up with their Instagram for updates. The salt compliments the sweetness of the condensed milk and the bitterness of the coffee perfectly. 10/10 FOOD We had their fries, tiramisu, and J St. Sando with an added cutlet. The fries were spectacular, crispy not soggy, and the texture was a little jagged for extra surface area when frying. It's a great addition to the table when sharing with friends! 10/10 The tiramisu was to die for-- not too sweet, creamy but not too heavy, and so much more. Sunday brunch was a busy time to come but Caphe was exactly what I was looking for on a Sunday morning. The inside is very open and spacious with lots of natural light. There aren't too many seats and given the popularity of this cafe they fill up fast. Most of the tables are small circle tables (can comfortably fit a group of 4) although there is some seats at the bar and a large picnic table at the back of the restaurant. My group waited in line for about 10 minutes, placed our order at the counter, and waited for another 10-15 minutes for food/ drinks to come out. The coffee is strong!! We ordered a black drip and iced ca phe sua. My boyfriend who drinks black coffee every day took a sip and was like woah that's straight jet fuel. In a good way lol if you like your coffee strong you'll like this! For food we ordered the OG banh mi, Sunny's hot sando, and the porridge. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the hot sando. Bread was crispy, egg was smothered in sauce and cheese, and the pork sausage worked so well in this breakfast sandwich. I would 100% get this again. The banh mi was good too although not the best I've ever had. But it scratched the itch for the craving and I'd get it again. Crispy bread, plenty of meat, fresh veggies. They also sell the chili oil they use in the sandwich! Shoutout to Vientiane Bistro who makes it. You absolutely need to try this Thai/Laotian restaurant if you haven't. I came in with my friend on a Thursday morning during a day trip to Philly via a recommendation and WOW this place surpassed my expectations! I was able to find free street parking across the street and it looked like most street parkings are free though you may have to walk a bit to access them.
