Wow, this place gets BUSY ever since they went viral on TikTok and Instagram. On weekends especially, the line genuinely never seems to slow down, so definitely expect a wait for both food and drinks. That being said, the team really does their best to get everything out as quickly as possible despite how packed it gets. Finding a table on weekends can also be pretty difficult, so I'd keep that in mind before going. As for the actual food and drinks, I've enjoyed most of the drinks I've tried here. I also love that they're always coming out with seasonal drinks and food specials, which keeps the menu fun and interesting. Definitely worth keeping up with their Instagram for updates. For the food though, there were a couple things I personally probably wouldn't order again. The J St Sando didn't have much flavor in my opinion, and the OG banh mi just wasn't anything particularly special to me. However, the tamarind fries and the gochujang fried chicken banh mi were delicious!! Those were definitely the standouts for me and what I'd come back for. Been meaning to try for a long time. Decided to host a book club with my friends and it was good decision. The line was out the door at 11am, but we managed to snag a table. We waited about 20 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for our food to be ready. It wasn't too noisy and we were able to talk amongst ourselves. I got the Sunny hot sando and the OG Bahn mi and tamarind fries to go. I probably wouldn't get the sando again, I don't think the baguette is the best choice for a breakfast sandwich. Came in a few minutes after they opened at 8am on a Saturday morning and there were already a few people inside. Their menu items are unique and flavors are all things that I love. I'm sad it's a bit of a ways away from Center City, but somewhat glad since I would visit here nonstop otherwise. Jasmine Matcha: A fall menu item, that is THE BEST matcha drink I have ever had. The sweet notes of the jasmine compliments the nuttier matcha well. 12/10 Salted Brulee Ca Phe: A permanent menu item. You truly cannot go wrong choosing this item. The salt compliments the sweetness of the condensed milk and the bitterness of the coffee perfectly. 10/10 FOOD We had their fries, tiramisu, and J St. Sando with an added cutlet. The fries were spectacular, crispy not soggy, and the texture was a little jagged for extra surface area when frying. It's a great addition to the table when sharing with friends! 10/10 The tiramisu was to die for-- not too sweet, creamy but not too heavy, and so much more. It's only here for the fall menu, but I hope it stays on the permanent one! 12/10 Finally, a friend recommended the J St. Sando with an added cutlet. Sunday brunch was a busy time to come but Caphe was exactly what I was looking for on a Sunday morning. The inside is very open and spacious with lots of natural light. There aren't too many seats and given the popularity of this cafe they fill up fast. Most of the tables are small circle tables (can comfortably fit a group of 4) although there is some seats at the bar and a large picnic table at the back of the restaurant. My group waited in line for about 10 minutes, placed our order at the counter, and waited for another 10-15 minutes for food/ drinks to come out. The coffee is strong!! We ordered a black drip and iced ca phe sua. My boyfriend who drinks black coffee every day took a sip and was like woah that's straight jet fuel. In a good way lol if you like your coffee strong you'll like this! For food we ordered the OG banh mi, Sunny's hot sando, and the porridge. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the hot sando. Bread was crispy, egg was smothered in sauce and cheese, and the pork sausage worked so well in this breakfast sandwich. I would 100% get this again. The banh mi was good too although not the best I've ever had. But it scratched the itch for the craving and I'd get it again. Crispy bread, plenty of meat, fresh veggies. They also sell the chili oil they use in the sandwich! Shoutout to Vientiane Bistro who makes it. You absolutely need to try this Thai/Laotian restaurant if you haven't. Lastly the porridge was very savory and comforting. The flavor of ginger immediately jumped out at me. I definitely recommend trying out this caphe! Parking wasn't too bad either. I came in with my friend on a Thursday morning during a day trip to Philly via a recommendation and WOW this place surpassed my expectations! I was able to find free street parking across the street and it looked like most street parkings are free though you may have to walk a bit to access them. I am not a big coffee person and I enjoyed how this tasted sweet and not ultra strong (though I only tried initial sips, it might be stronger after) Misugaru Matcha w/ almond milk 3.5/5, ok so this was the first time I've tried Misugaru and I went off the menu description of it tasting like cereal milk. It does taste like that but also it was grainy and thicker than I expected? so mixing the matcha in was a bit challenging. I am happy I tried this so I got to learn what Misugaru is but I would try something else next time Staple Egg Sando 5/5, you simply MUST order this if you want a breakfast item from here. It offers a decent amount of seating and wifi so you can sit there and do work, etc. When I got there, they were out of the egg coffee (which I think is their specialty) but I wanted to try the Vietnamese iced coffee with the jasmine matcha cold foam anyways, and that did not disappoint at all! The coffee was strong and the cold foam had a really pleasant green tea flavor, I can definitely see myself ordering it again. I also ordered the Gritty sandwich which was pretty large (I only had half of it while there) and delicious! I was there for several hours doing work and left around 2 PM when the cafe was a lot quieter. We came to Caphe Roasters on a weekend in Philly from NY because we had a wedding to attend. It is hard to find parking around the area which is a little shady. The interior is huge and very clean, but little to no free seats because they have a lot of customers. I scanned the menu QR code and ordered online because the line was long, only to realize that the online order is estimated to be 45 minutes. I did happen to buy their steamed pandan and mungbean cake and honeycomb cake and asked the staff member about the online order. She let me know that she'd let the kitchen staff know but the order would still take around 20 minutes because they need to cook the ingredients for the sandwiches which was very nice of her. We ordered the Vietnamese latte, mango coconut matcha, Chu Leo's sando, and an OG banh mi. The drinks came out fast. The Vietnamese latte is great! The vietnamese espresso is delicious and made us want to buy the beans. The mango coconut matcha had a strong matcha flavor, but I was hoping for the mango to really peak through. There were chunks of mango at the top though which were sweet. Chu Leo's sando was super fresh and definitely looked like a summer sandwich. The vegetables were vibrant and combined with the sauce, created an addictive sandwich. The OG Banh mi was also really good. The bread was crispy and the pickled vegetables cut through any fat. The pandan-mungbean cake was so delicious! I highly recommend getting it and trying it especially with the coconut cream. We bought a second container of it and a bag of coffee beans and also got some of their stickers which were free!
