Stopped in for lunch yesterday. Pronounced "chop-skis". Interior is very nice. They did a nice job of making this place over. Essentially a Polish menu but they also offer some Mexican entrees. You order at counter and sit down and they bring it to you. You can get your own water and coffee.We had a sloppy joe sandwich and the meatballs and egg noodle dinner. Meatballs, mashed potatoes, green beans, noodles and sauerkraut were very good. All of it was good. And I do not like kraut. Sloppy joe came with pickle and chips. It too was good. My dinner was about 11 bucks and was worth it. Sloppy joe was 9 bucks and over priced. Egg salad sandwich was also around 9 bucks so I think it is also over priced. BUT all of our food was good. I do not know if any of it was home made but as of this review I do not care. It was good. They offer catering services. This is a go to place in my book and we will be going to it again. read more

Oh my goodness. Best Polish food ever. The green beans are fantastic. I know it sounds odd to mention. But they are a must to eat with whatever you order. I don't see what the fuss is about this place. I had the polish combo plate and it was just ok. Nothing especially great and the flavor just wasn't there. My wife had the botana plate which was terrible. Some stale chips on a plate with a very small amount of toppings heated in the microwave. Could have done that at home. We were visiting family in Milford over Presidents Day weekend and were looking for dinner options on the way back to where we were staying before the winter storm came down hard. Passing by Czapski's, I knew we had to get dinner there! So glad we did! The food was delicious! We had the pierogis, kraut, and kielbasa, and the kids had the burritos. The food is always great. But tonight, the specials were awesome! Had potato pancakes and schnitzel. Both were worth ordering. The owner/chef was in the dining room (she is frequently), so I asked her about another special--s*** on a shingle. The next thing we knew, she was placing a complimentary plate of it in front of us! My husband had never had it. He said it was so good that he wished he had ordered it as his meal. Never disappointed eating there. read more

Catering Review: We planned on using Czapski's for my sister's baby shower. We booked back at the beginning of May for a August shower and dropped off a deposit about a week later. Because of Covid we had many changes (venue, size of the party, menu, etc.) so we talked to Lisa the owner and her daughter Emily multiple times. Three days before the party we called to understand the final balance of our bill and Lisa had no recollection of our party or our deposit and hung up on me. She was extremely unprofessional and instead of apologizing and righting the situation she left us hanging. I would not recommend working with Lisa or Czapski's for anything!! read more

Yesterday was the first day we tried this restaurant and within an hour I told friends and family how good the food was. The lady who took my order was very friendly and she said her dad was the one who would cook the chicken livers and that he always make delicious livers. They were even better than my sister's chicken livers and that is a huge compliment. I am very happy we found this wonderful restaurant. We had the Polish food and i think it is better than Polish restaurants in Sterling Heights and Hamtramck I like. My husband's city chicken was moist and did not need a knife and was so delicious. You could cut it with a fork. My chicken livers were perfect and tender but still crisped with just the right seasoning. We are happy to have discovered this diamond of a restaurant and plan to go there often. read more

Found this restaurant thanks to Yelp. Glad we did. Beat the crowd on a Saturday night and found a seat right away. Service was quick with everything. Went with three others, ordered two of the pork roast dinner, one beef brisket dinner and one kielbasa & kraut dinner. Lots of food that came very quickly but still room for dessert. All the desserts looked good but ordered banana cream pie and the six layer carrot cake. Both were delicious. The owner came by to ask about our meal and found out she and my brother in law grew up around the same area. She stayed and chatted for a bit making us feel so welcome. Stopped for lunch for two of us. We each ordered $3 coffee, $3 side salad (OK), $3 cabbage soup- not much flavor, and split a combo plate for $13.95 - two tasteless "stuffed cabbage" which had been warming for way too long, two meatballs with a bit of pasta, lots of filler, no taste, and some mashed potato and a bit of sauerkraut, $13.95. But wait, it was actually $14.95 because we had two of the soggy cabbage things. All of it was pretty uninteresting, we'll drive to Hamtramck for the real thing. Before crossing off a restaurant we usually give it two or three chances lest we hit them on an off day, that can happen. Then we go the bill and there was an extra $2 surcharge for splitting the now $16.95 mushy, mediocre "combo". That capped it for us making a $29 lunch, $31 and change plus a modest, in this instance, tip. They got the 2 bucks but won't see us again. read more

Ordered a combo dinner through The Great Pierogi Drive Up event yesterday in Royal Oak and wow I was impressed. There is not much for Polish food in Oakland county, but now I know to make the drive out to Milford for my next Polish feast. The city chicken and golumpki were like my grandma herself made them! Awesome polish food. I got the combo platter which costs a little more but it was excellent and worth the money. I chose the glumpky meatball and kielbasa and kraut as my combo items they were all outstanding. I asked about the pickle soup and they brought me out a sample which was also very good. Came here after getting samples over the weekend at brewed in Michigan. Had the pick three, got kielbasa, stuffed cabbage and a pierogi. All were awesome, came with mashed potatoes and gravy, kraut and green beans. Mashed potatoes were to die for. Anita has the meatballs over noodles also came with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and kraut. When I came in it was very busy and they are out of many food items. They don't substitute anything on the menu. You can't just purchase a small salad that's if you purchase another entree. No vegetables platers or healthy choices. A lot of comfort food and dessert. read more

Went there since we were near Milford for an appointment and were looking for someplace to have lunch.... wow .... the food was excellent. Because I did not want yet another restaurant in this spot to fail, I made sure to visit more than once and I tried several foods before leaving a review. The meatballs tasted very similar to the frozen ones you get at Walmart and were served just above room temperature. The gravy on them was good. The noodles were barely room temperature. The peirogies were sitting on a griddle for who knows how long, so they were very hard and dry by the time we got them. They are very expensive for how many you get and the quality is very poor. The green beans were served to me refrigerator cold. I think they pulled them out of the fridge and did not even bother to warm them up. The city chicken had a good flavor, but it was very dry. The burrito I got was made with roast, and was amazingly good. I tried to go back again today to get one of those burritos and they took it off them menu. So now that they have taken the only decent food off the menu, I will not be back. I am very disappointed in the food here. It is cooked catering style and sits around all day in a warmer, so it is not cooked fresh when you order it, which can be good for someone in a hurry, but I would rather wait for the food to be cooked fresh so that it tastes better and is hot. They also run out of food items frequently. This would not be an issue if you would just cook items to order. read more

We had a great lunch. Lisa and her husband do a terrific job of trying to capture an old Polish neighborhood in the restaurant. The pierogi, city chicken and Golobki all were great. Lisa came to our table and told us some of the history and shared what Polish neighborhood she grew up in. Ironically both my parents grew up in the same area . Meh. Friendly staff but barebones menu and limited children's options. Cozy inside, I had high hopes.

I debated between 4 and 5 stars, but the food is so good, I overlooked the funky counter ordering and gave it a 5. Polish food is deceptively simple in terms of recipes. We Poles are harsh judges of the food at Polish restaurants. What makes it like "Busia's" or "Babcia's" are the recipes handed down over generations, years of practice in the kitchen, a bit of tinkering, and a whole lot of love. Czapski's nails the food from that perspective. The only two critiques I can offer are that the pierogi seem to be made on a form (i.e. not hand folding and pinching the dough), and the kapusta could use some bacon and sautéed onion - but that's being picky. The city chicken is out of this world. Easily the best thing I had on the combo plate (though the gravy for the mashed potatoes could have been declared its own food group). The kielbasa is from Srodek's in Hamtramck, and the gałabki is similarly terrific. My daughter had the meatballs and couldn't stop talking about them. The only thing that would make this more like I remember from my childhood? Babcia always made sure we went back for seconds. read more

This place is legit. I had the meat balls, city chicken and stuffed cabbage. City chicken was really good. Stuffed cabbage was next best and meat balls were also good. I would try the Perogi or kielbasa over the meat balls. Outside of Hamtramck, I challenge anyone to find a place that hits all of the old school recipes that this place does. Growing up in one of the largest Polish neighborhoods in the country, Buffalo New York, I attended Polish Catholic School and I always looked forward to "Dyngus Day" with all the great Polish foods. We are of Polish decent and we frequent Polish Restaurants a lot. We throughly enjoyed our meals. We got combo plates & the kids got Mexican. All of us wanted to come back. The portions are extremely generous. The price for combo plates were OK but a fried bologna sandwich was $9 which is a bit high. The decorations are so Polish...lots of Busha (grandma) crochet toppers on furniture. The customers were very steady. I hope this place stays in the area. Most Polish restaurants are Rochester or Sterling Heights directions. This is good food and convenient. Must try!!! read more

Welcome to Milford! I've been here 3 times in the last month after I had a piece of city chicken during Milford Memories. I love their food. The owners are so nice and make sure to thank everyone for coming in - nice touch. I've spoken to both Lisa and her husband and gave them a few ideas to which they were very appreciative.
