Excellent interaction from first contact to install. We had Cypress Sweeps install a custom chimney cap. Joseph answered all our questions in a friendly and approachable manner. Cap was installed quicker than excepted (rare these days to have something ahead of schedule)! Value is great, exceeded our expectations. Thank you Jospeh/Cypress Sweeps. read more

Joseph was the consummate professional. Responsive, on-time, courteous, knowledgeable, with competitive pricing. Installed 2 stainless steel chimney caps on my two flues. Came out twice, once to measure and a week later to install. Had to improvise with an adapter since one flue was too short. Was done in an hour. Also advised me on fixing a minor water leak @ the chimney base. Overall a refreshing experience of great service. Will be my chimney dude for life. Highly recommended. read more

We were fixing up a house for sale, and after the Building Inspection, we found out that we needed a new chimney cap on our chimney, as well as some protective waterproof flashing around the chimney itself. Joseph was recommended by our realtor from Sotheby's Realty and was absolutely professional in his service and the work he performed. The chimney was capped and flashed, and he sent me a picture of the finished work in a timely manner! read more

Our fireplace was smoking badly and we heard of this company from neighbors. Good reviews and called Joseph. He showed up, saw the issue and gave various ways to tackle it. He quoted a fair price for the way we both agreed to try and he worked the whole time, was clean and took the old parts. Very knowledgable and helped me find a part I needed. Would definatkey use his company again!! read more

Joseph was excellent. He was friendly, professional, and explained everything thoroughly. He provided options for a repair that I knew we needed before he came to inspect our chimney, and he was able to fix it right away for a reasonable price. Communication before and after the appointment was also great. Highly recommended! read more

Family business, knowledgeable and years of experience providing great advice on safety and maintenance of an aging chimney and fireplace. Thank you! read more

Joseph was very kind and knowledgeable about what was going on with our chimney. He knew what was causing problems, and provided a thorough assessment for the owner of the home to review. His inspection was affordable for us as renters and important for our safety. read more

The service was very thorough. The service technician was very polite and professional. He gave me a fair price by phone, and even though he did additional work (sealing a gas line), he didn't charge extra. He cleaned up and left everything spotless. Cannot say enough good things! Highly recommend. read more

Was very friendly and did an awesome job. We will be calling him anytime we need something done to our chimney.

Expertise, exceptional customer service and attention to detail are three things that come to mind, when I think of Chimney Sweep Chimney Service. We had our chimney and dryer vent serviced. Compliance issues were discovered with both! The repairs made by Chimney Sweep Chimney Service not only provided general maintenance, but in this case they also corrected problems that could have caused a potential fire. Friendly, reasonable and reliable service. We highly recommend (& already have) this outstanding business. read more

Super easy to arrange for a sweep(you can set up the appointment by text)! Joseph makes it easy to schedule. He was accomodating in scheduling a couple of weeks out. He was conscientious. His first step as he began his inspection was to bring in a drop cloth to protect our rug. He was detail oriented, replacing a missing screen for us for safety. He is not a contractor, but when he noted masonary work to be done on the chimney exterior, he documented it, and sent us referrals for who to use. He was efficient, thurough, and kind. He blends the best of technology, documenting our chimney in clear photos, with good old fashioned hard work! I would highly recommend Cypress Sweeps! read more

We just had our chimney cleaned and are very satisfied with the service. Joseph was quick, neat and very reasonable priced. We definitely recommend Cypress Sweeps for keeping your chimney clean. read more

Joseph communicated with me before the day of my service to make sure I didn't have any questions or concerns before hand. On the day of the service, he sent a text saying he was on his way. Once to my house, he immediately place a drop cloth down to ensure the house remained clean. Joseph gave me a fair inspection report and could have easily said that the chimney needed cleaning but he was honest. Its not often you find someone honestly trying to save you money. I chose to have the chimney cleaned and his prices were very reasonable. Joseph was extremely clean and did a great job! On top of being clean, he was very professional, personable and even got my pooch to stop barking at him. Highly recommend Cypress Sweeps Chimney Service! read more

I had a feeling when Joseph came over for a cleaning he wasn't going to do it. The proper cleaning would of required pulling the wood burning stove out which has been done in the past. Joseph told me he did not do that because it involved a lot of work and he didn't have the manpower. I can't understand how someone would have a chimney service and not give complete service. So I ended up getting a level I inspection which was done in about 15 mins and was charged $90 with supposedly a $60 discount. I was shocked. Joseph never even bothered taking off the back plate which consisted of two screws. I had a stove company come over and give me a bid for a new stove and the technician did a more thorough inspection than Cypress Sweeps did. Needless to say I won't be using this service for maintaining my new wood burning stove. read more

These guys are accommodating, knowledgeable and professional. Their prices were reasonable especially since my situation was an emergency. Highly recommend. read more

I've had Cypress Sweeps clean my chimney at least once a year for the past ten years or so. Joseph is efficient, thorough, and most importantly, neat and clean. Remember what you learned when you were younger. Once your warranty expires, the three most important things are: maintenance, maintenance and maintenance. Cypress Sweeps has my vote and kudos. While shopping for a fireplace insert for my new home, I was advised to find a chimney sweep. Everyone we talked to recommend Cypress Sweeps. I was expecting Dick Van Dyke from Mary Poppins but met someone even friendlier. John is the owner and usually works as a firefighter. He's knowledgable about fire code, green/efficient ways to heat your home and it's just a plus that he likes animals. Every fireplace store I visited had recommended him. Call him today for any of your chimney sweeping needs! read more

John is fantastic! Great customer service, clean, efficient, and very positive and outgoing. I called around and his rates were about the same as others. Ultimately, I'm glad I decided to go with him! He's also located right by me (Corral de Tierra area)! Will definitely keep him in mind. Note: Cash/check only, so plan ahead if you don't usually have cash or checks on you. read more

I can't say enough about the service provided by Joe Tilly at Cypress Sweeps. Appointment was easy to get, followed immediately by a scheduling confirmation email. Day of appointment I get a text saying that he's en route. Right on time, he comes in and takes pictures of the inside of chimney walls and flue to discuss with us. Then goes to work cleaning and takes a second set of pictures to show the cleaned chimney. All for a reasonable price. We couldn't be happier with this service!! read more

I haven't seen customer service like we received from Joseph Tilly in a long time. He was punctual, polite and professional. The 3 P's that I believe make a GREAT business. He was very clear on what he was doing and very patient since my mother is older and would repeat the same question, he made sure she understood everything before he even began the job. He was so respectful of her, you just don't see this anymore which really makes him one of a kind. He had e-mailed us the paperwork we needed for the fireplace insert she was wanting by the end of the day. I guarantee we will never use anybody else in the future and neither should anybody that is reading this review. All around great guy and a job well done. read more

Impressive ! I received a text telling me he was on his way, show up right on time. Joseph was professional and through, he inspected everything, took pictures and sent a report later in the day. I had my 3 year old grandson Hunter at my home when Joseph showed up and Joseph took the time to let Hunter help him a little. It made Hunters day! Thank you Joseph read more

I contacted Cypress Sweeps based on the Yelp reviews, and also that they were one of only two CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps in the area; I contacted both, the other never returned my calls, right there Cypress gets 100% for customer service! It was a two week wait for them to come out, but with the cooler weather and the holidays, completely understandable. Joseph showed up a few minutes early, checked everything out, cleaned the chimney and let me know that everything looked good. Prompt, courteous, professional and clean, I can't ask for anything better. read more

John did an amazing job on my fireplace. He is efficient, kept everything clean and was very professional. He is a long time upstanding member of the community (former firefighter) and I would highly recommend him. a+ job thank you! read more

Stellar. This is what customer service should be like everywhere. Joseph, the owner, is a sweetheart, honest, easy, friendly, fair, and courteous. This is the type of service you want to tell your friends about because it's so good. We had our chimney swept- and Joseph took the time, after the job was done, at his home, to calculate our flue to fireplace opening area and determined our fireplace opening was too large and our flue was too small, this not creating a proper draft when starting fires, thus the reason smoke would come into the home every time. Joseph, you deserve every ounce of those 5 stars on yelp. read more

Joseph Tilly is the personification of an excellent small business person. He is polite, thorough, tidy, timely and honest. It was easy to get an appointment. His customer service is great with text confirmation and notification when he's en route. He explained what he was doing, what he observed and provided a report complete with photographs of my chimney, inside and out, and recommendations for any necessary repairs. A local Monterey makes good. I recommend him highly. read more

If there were 10 stars, I would have used them ALL! Joe is superb. He is prompt to the minute, clean, communicative, and thorough (checking roof, flue, and bricks). Joe recommended that our unit reflect the others in the neighborhood and protect us from critters and leaves, during the off season. read more
