Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. Our day started at 4:05 AM with a hotel pickup. We were then driven to the owner's property to sign waivers. For an additional fee, guests receive a bottle of wine and a Nothing Bundt Cake. However, the bottle of wine we were given had no label whatsoever, so we had no idea what type of wine it was, where it came from, or any information about it. Afterward, we were transported to the launch site. Once there, we waited approximately 45 minutes while the balloon was being set up. During that time, three other balloon companies arrived after us and were airborne within about 10 minutes. It was frustrating to spend so much time standing around waiting. The flight itself was amazing and the reason this review is getting 2 stars instead of 1. The landing was rough and felt unstable, as though the basket could tip over. We landed on private property where the owner appeared upset that we were there, which created an uncomfortable situation for everyone. After landing, we then waited another 30-45 minutes before being allowed out of the basket while the crew deflated and packed everything up. Once again, there was a lot of standing around and waiting. When the post-flight celebration finally began, guests were offered Costco Prosecco, apple cider, and orange juice. What stood out was that one of the crew members was serving drinks with visibly dirty hands, which was not particularly appetizing. In addition, an already-open, partially consumed bottle of orange juice was brought out and served to guests. That felt unprofessional and unsanitary. The overall celebration was very underwhelming. Considering this is Temecula Wine Country, I expected something more thoughtful and polished than Costco Prosecco and a mystery bottle of unlabeled wine. And they left it on the truck What was most disappointing were several unprofessional comments made during the experience. There were jokes and remarks involving naked women and drug-related topics that felt inappropriate, especially in a business setting where guests of all ages and backgrounds are present. It made the experience feel less professional than expected. We also landed in an area surrounded by brush and were warned about the possibility of snakes while waiting for transportation. Overall, the balloon ride itself was fantastic, but the customer experience, professionalis

As you enter, you're asked to turn off your A/C for the short uphill drive to the visitor center, so be prepared because it gets hot. Parking was easy, with several lots available, and we were lucky enough to find a spot right in front of the visitor center. The visitor center itself is spacious and beautiful, with an outdoor deck where you can watch the tram travel up the mountain. Round-trip admission was about $35 with military discount, and the tram ride to the top took around 10 minutes. Once you arrive, the views are absolutely breathtaking. There are three levels to explore with restaurants, seating areas, exhibits, a theater, and access to hiking trails. This was such a fun experience, and I'd definitely come back. If you're visiting Palm Springs or exploring Southern California, I highly recommend adding this to your itinerary!

There is no signage, and we were not informed of this, so when we got back at 9pm (the top was open until 1030 this night), we waited (along with 2 other couples) for a while. I truly thought, as a tourist location, someone visiting their first time being dropped off in that spot - would assume you'd get picked up there as well. Only upon going back up and in and asking were we told this & that a security officer drives around and helps to take people to their car. My bf ended up walking down to grab the car. While I waited, I noticed a security officer leave the main building and walk to his truck and even though he saw me, didn't acknowledge me. Keep in mind, this is the same officer who was busy chatting to the front desk girl when we got off the tram and heading out. Sometime later, a security truck drove right by me and never stopped. I was a female alone & didn't even acknowledge me. Within a few minutes, my bf showed up and was telling me how he literally had 2 bobcats (1 small and 1 bigger) walk in the short distance by him at one point and then how dark it was when he left the top parking lot. Literally it was pitch black and we drove by the lot we were in. They do have solar panels connected to light fixtures, but apparently none of those work in any of the lower lots. You're literally in the mountains and the location is running still... why would they not have the shuttle running until closing? Why wouldn't they have lights set up for those expected to walk back to their cars anytime after sunset? Also, my bf told me he actually was in that security truck when it drove by as the guy did eventually pick him up in the dark but seemed irritated to actually work and had picked up 1 of the other couples - ignored the other and ignored me even though my bf had said that other couple was also walking to their car in the dark and that I was with him. The guy seemed mad and irritated and even kept making noises of frustration in the short time he was with him. Honestly, the above situation is what dropped my view down from 5 to 3. Just ridiculous. As for the location at the top, it's a cool spot to visit (even if you don't hike or plan to camp). There's a very quick "museum", a little shop, a bar, cafeteria style food area and a restaurant that we ate at. Those employees were all very nice and the food was good. Overall, I wouldn't be back though.

Amazing instructor, beautiful views, and a surreal experience! $150 is a great price point as it includes both the plane and the instructor. Generally most planes rent for around just that price. They let my wife tag along in the back seat for $35 more. The experience starts with checking in at the front desk and signing waivers. Then you do a quick run down in the office with your instructor of what to expect during the flight. Then they take you out to the airport and do a pre-flight inspection of the plane. Finally you're seated into the pilot's seat and start taxing out. Total time in the plane was about 45-50 min of which 25 min was in the air (from take off to landing). We also lucked out in that they assigned us to their newest plane (a Cessna 172S - N227WC). It came equipped with a G1000, which was awesome! It was so similar to my experience with the Cessna 172 in Microsoft Flight Simulator. :D Michael was a super attentive and encouraging flight instructor. I loved that he gauged how comfortable I was in the plane and let me do so much more then I was expecting to be able to do on my first flight. I loved that he let me make the calls to ATC. Also it was incredibly cool taking off and landing by myself (with his guidance of course). Michael spent a lot of time after the flight answering questions that we had. In total my wife and I spent about 2.5 hours at OCFC. I will definitely come back here if/when I want to start my PPL training--hopefully with Michael as my flight instructor!
