The one thing this place has locked down is ORGANIZATION. The place is huge and has a lot of…read moreswimmers. Although it looks chaotic, they have a great system to keep things under control. The front desk has two people working, so even if one is on the phone, you are greeted by another member. Everyone I have encountered have been so friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Once you are signed up, they give your child a color specific wrist band, so the instructors and staff members know where to direct them. All the instructors have customized shirts with names on the back, which is super helpful to me because I can't remember faces as quickly. They don't make it a point where they speak with you after every swim lesson to give feedback on your child. However, towards the end of the week session or however long you signed up for, you are allowed to go to the other side of the pool and watch your child and then you can ask and/or discuss whatever you want. When I signed my son up, he was in for an "intense" weeklong session where he went every day for 2 weeks for 30 minutes a day. He started off as a "guppy". He did the session with 2-3 other kids, so technically I was paying for only 10 minutes of swim time. However, it was still worth it because he was young, and I think seeing other kids swim helps comfort him and gave him confidence. He cried on the first day, BUT his instructor, Miss Mary Lou was super sweet and was able to calm him down. At the end of the session, he was all smiles and couldn't wait to come back. When I signed up, my son got a shirt and a booklet. That booklet is super cute and helpful! It's a fun comic for the kid, but it also tells me what to expect because they basically explained everything in there. I'm telling you, their organization is great. They thought of everything! After the guppy session, he was advanced to the next level: goldfish. We transitioned to him swimming 1 day a week with other kids again. However, when private lessons popped up, we switched. I highly recommend private 1 on 1 sessions because you get the whole 30 minutes. The instructors do teach the entire 30 minutes and never stop a minute early, which is nice. You can rest assure you're paying for the entire time. I like the private sessions because I feel like my son was able to learn more. Mr. Luke was his private instructor, and he was awesome. He pushed him, which I appreciated. Of course, when my son showed signs of fatigue or was overwhelmed, I saw Mr. Luke adjusted his methods a bit, but he didn't "baby" him. The place has lots of changing rooms and a huge shower room for the kids. There is also lots of places for parents to sit and watch their child. Although a lot of people come and go, it doesn't feel overly crowded or claustrophobic. When your child passes the float test, they have a super cute tradition where the child gets to place their handprint anywhere on the wall and write their name. It just makes the child's experience more special and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this place! This was a great place for my son to start off learning how to swim.

In this complex there is also a volleyball court, a walking trail, a 1/2 basketball court, a beautiful little lake with a rock fountain great for photo opps, and four tennis courts! When it is not summer this place quiets down and the pool area is not open but the other recreation areas are. Here's a tip: reserve court time ahead online at the CR website. Look out for the people trying to pull wool over your eyes when they tell you they've reserved the court (that you know is false since YOU actually reserved it). All it takes is a quick look up online to see if they indeed reserved the court.. 7/10 times they have. Some people reserve two courts when they only use one but in those situations it is A OK to stay put until the other guys arrive.. If they ever do.

There is a pool for the summer, but it is strangely designed. One half is a kiddie pool about 1-1/2 feet deep and the a rope to a drop off of 8 ft. There are slides, and the swimming area is well watched by lifeguards. Once an hour there is a security break, like for 10 to 15 minutes, give the kids a chance to hydrate and the lifeguards to take break. When you're not in the pool there is a wonderful little splash pad adjacent to the pool area. As far as bringing food and drink, the sign on the door is kind of misleading. It says no food or drink allowed in the pool area, which I think a lot of people mistake as you're not allowed to bring any food or drink into The splash pad / pool at all, but that's not true. You can bring food and drink as long as you keep it away from the pool area. No glasses allowed and obviously no alcohol is allowed. you do have to be a member of the stonegate HOA and your dues do have to be current to get into the pool. I really enjoy it and my grandkids really enjoy it. It's never too crowded and the kids always have a great time. I would definitely recommend it. Oh yes it is all concrete, but you're not supposed to be running around in the area there are signs everywhere that says no running, so if you obey that simple rule, the concrete shouldn't be an issue other than it being very hot on your feet. This splash pad hours vary as far as I can tell, I've yet to see a sign that really gives you a clear idea of when it opens. And if there is a thunderstorm, the pool gets closed. So, be prepared for that one. Even if it's a short thunderstorm they close the pool. I don't know if they reopened after the storm passes, they might I just don't know. There is a bathroom with showers and changing areas, there is no food available so definitely bring water and a snack.

The waitstaff are friendly and attentive, and if you buy the X-Life add-on to your membership, it's well worth it if you eat at the restaurant at least a few times per month. Special weekly events, like Tasting Tuesdays and Pasta Night on Thursdays, add variety by offering items not on the regular menu. The outdoor restaurant, the Tourn, often has live music and other events.
