The club is part of the Invited network (formerly known as ClubCorp). It's my opinion that the club, while not in bad shape when I first joined, has improved over the last few years. The golf course has been one of the better ones I've played on, and it's great having three 9-hole courses to pick from. The pro shop generally has a good selection of equipment and clothing, and members get 20% off on clothes. Sports like pickleball and tennis are available. Also, groups that play games like mahjong and poker meet here to play. The main restaurant, the Red Wolf Bar & Grille, has many choices with a seasonal menu and monthly drink specials. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive, and if you buy the X-Life add-on to your membership, it's well worth it if you eat at the restaurant at least a few times per month. Special weekly events, like Tasting Tuesdays and Pasta Night on Thursdays, add variety by offering items not on the regular menu. The outdoor restaurant, the Tourn, often has live music and other events. If you live in the area, especially within in Hearthstone or surrounding neighborhoods, Hearthstone Country Club is a great place for activities with family and friends.

This is a very strange course, a lot of short par 4 and 5's but pretty long par 3's in comparison. The layout is very interesting and should take a while for someone to get used to it, but the greens demands good read and speed control. Over all this is a older style course that is straight forward, but not easy.

I've never been much of a gym person but after loosing my love for running (I was that actual…read moreperson who ran one marathon and went "yeah this is really terrible") I knew I needed to find a new form of exercise for both my physical health as well as my mental health. Living in the energy corridor I had a lot of different options but I did not want a cookie cutter gym, I wanted somewhere that I could belong, somewhere that I felt the staff would get to know me and not judge me if- and when- I did something wrong. Plus I wanted classes- I LOVE group exercise classes cause I have no idea what to do on my own. So I took my then boyfriend and we went to MAC. We really found it to be a welcoming place. It is not the cheapest around but one thing I have learned is that I would always rather have quality in the things that affect my overall well being. I have made friends at this gym, I have been through Harvey and road construction with this gym and I always felt valued as a member. I've been kept in the loop- they do a fantastic job of hosting different types of events and keeping their social media up to date. And now through what is proving to be one of the most interesting events to happen they continue to show their dedication to members by offering youtube classes and free virtual classes. Every day they are posting and making sure there is something to do and a way to get a workout in even at home. This is far more than a gym but truly also a community and a family.

I go almost every day for Training for Warriors with Jeff, he's an exceptional coach who really motivates you (and Lex). Yoga with Guillermina is always calming and inspiring, and Zumba with Julia, Edie, Kevin is full of fun and energy. Felipe is super supportive, and honestly all the coaches are amazing. It's truly my favorite place to work out, push myself, and feel great

The one thing this place has locked down is ORGANIZATION. The place is huge and has a lot of…read moreswimmers. Although it looks chaotic, they have a great system to keep things under control. The front desk has two people working, so even if one is on the phone, you are greeted by another member. Everyone I have encountered have been so friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Once you are signed up, they give your child a color specific wrist band, so the instructors and staff members know where to direct them. All the instructors have customized shirts with names on the back, which is super helpful to me because I can't remember faces as quickly. They don't make it a point where they speak with you after every swim lesson to give feedback on your child. However, towards the end of the week session or however long you signed up for, you are allowed to go to the other side of the pool and watch your child and then you can ask and/or discuss whatever you want. When I signed my son up, he was in for an "intense" weeklong session where he went every day for 2 weeks for 30 minutes a day. He started off as a "guppy". He did the session with 2-3 other kids, so technically I was paying for only 10 minutes of swim time. However, it was still worth it because he was young, and I think seeing other kids swim helps comfort him and gave him confidence. He cried on the first day, BUT his instructor, Miss Mary Lou was super sweet and was able to calm him down. At the end of the session, he was all smiles and couldn't wait to come back. When I signed up, my son got a shirt and a booklet. That booklet is super cute and helpful! It's a fun comic for the kid, but it also tells me what to expect because they basically explained everything in there. I'm telling you, their organization is great. They thought of everything! After the guppy session, he was advanced to the next level: goldfish. We transitioned to him swimming 1 day a week with other kids again. However, when private lessons popped up, we switched. I highly recommend private 1 on 1 sessions because you get the whole 30 minutes. The instructors do teach the entire 30 minutes and never stop a minute early, which is nice. You can rest assure you're paying for the entire time. I like the private sessions because I feel like my son was able to learn more. Mr. Luke was his private instructor, and he was awesome. He pushed him, which I appreciated. Of course, when my son showed signs of fatigue or was overwhelmed, I saw Mr. Luke adjusted his methods a bit, but he didn't "baby" him. The place has lots of changing rooms and a huge shower room for the kids. There is also lots of places for parents to sit and watch their child. Although a lot of people come and go, it doesn't feel overly crowded or claustrophobic. When your child passes the float test, they have a super cute tradition where the child gets to place their handprint anywhere on the wall and write their name. It just makes the child's experience more special and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this place! This was a great place for my son to start off learning how to swim.
