Sitting in my car, I already felt the anxiety building because dental visits can be nerve-racking for me. When I checked my appointment again, I realized I was actually scheduled at Fair Lakes Family Dentistry, so I drove over hoping this experience would be different. The moment I walked in, the beautiful lobby and welcoming staff immediately shifted the tone. A.D., the dental assistant, called me back and introduced herself with such warmth that my guard began to lower. Our conversation felt natural and calming, which helped me relax before the appointment even began. Then I met Corey, the dental hygienist. When he spoke, I noticed his accent and asked where he was from. When he said Memphis, I smiled instantly--because I'm from Memphis too, born and raised. That small moment of connection turned what could have been a stressful appointment into something much more human. Corey listened as I shared my past dental concerns and experiences. His empathy, patience, and attentiveness made me feel like a person, not just a patient. As a counselor, I deeply value when professionals create a space where someone feels seen, heard, and respected. Corey did exactly that. Even during the procedure, everything was handled with gentle care and reassurance. Instead of feeling tense the entire time like I normally do at the dentist, I actually felt safe. If you're someone who feels nervous about dental visits, I highly recommend Fair Lakes Family Dentistry. Their team truly understands that caring for people means caring for more than just their teeth. Thank you especially to A.D. and Corey for making such a meaningful difference in my experience.

THEY TAKE CARE OF YOU LIKE FAMILY here at Cypress Oral!…read more My story is that I've had a root-canal done on a premolar years ago in another city, and unfortunately that surgeon somehow botched the crown post placement in an irreparable way. I put off getting it replaced by a bridge/implant simply because of the expense and because I didn't know who to trust. Fast forward to a few months ago, my stepdad's brother, a seasoned dentist but not an oral surgeon, recommended Cypress Oral to suit my predicament. I couldn't be more grateful that I went with his recommendation! Dr. Price and Dr. Michael both took excellent care of me from the moment I met them, as if they were doing a favor for their own nephew! Wow! They are both very knowledgeable about their expertise and covered things I didn't even see mention of in my research. I was nervous about the issue of price and potential complications, but they didn't pressure me in anyway, just kindly informed me of my best option, which for me was the implant. They eased a lot of my anxiety about the whole process. The staff quoted a much better, reasonable price than I was given at other practices. Hardly common these days, these folks actually care more about their patients than their revenue! What's more, both Dr. Price and Michael went above and beyond to help me out in what for me had been a hard time financially. Thank you so much! So I took the chance and I'm so glad I did! The procedure was so quick (isn't anesthesia great?) I didn't even know they were finished when I came to! Ha! It barely even hurt during my recovery too, great job! Now I have a nicely-healed gum site with a flawless post where there was once a cringe-worthy, nasty mess of decaying enamel that had been that way for more than 5 YEARS. Amazing! I couldn't ask for a better experience! Thank you so much Dr. Michael and Dr. Price, and thank you Cypress Oral! God bless you all!

However, Yelp has broadened its…read morescope over the years and it a place where people come looking for reviews of everything beyond just restaurants and bars. I became a new patient at Cypress Dental Group. Upon leaving they asked me to write a Yelp review. Clearly, the principals of this dental practice understand the power of social media, wisely counseling their staff to make "the ask" before a patient has exited. What brought me to Cypress Dental was obviously a problem I was experiencing, which was not earth-shattering, yet the condition was bothersome. The diagnosis required tooth extraction. The dentist and his assistant provided me with a clear and concise explanation and understanding of the process. Both were congenial and professional as were the rest of the staff in the practice whom I had encountered before and after my treatment. The extraction procedure was expedient and uneventful. I am impressed by the efficiency of this dental group and their standards of patient care. Cypress Dental Group, in my opinion, displays a passion for excellence. I am grateful for getting treated at Cypress Dental within a day of my call for an appointment. My overall experience was positive. Therefore, Cypress Dental earns a five-star review. If you are looking for a new dentist I recommend giving CDG a shot at earning your business.

I came in for a teeth cleaning, covered by Delta Insurance for $0, and left owing an "estimated" $3882.48! For instance, the usual & customary fees or U.C.F. Lists 3M 5000 toothpaste for $299! The E.F."estimated fee" is dropped to $30.00. Amazon sells it for $15.80 with out insurance! The 3M PerioMed U.C.F. is $354, E.F. (what I paid) is $30. Again Amazon's price with tax, is $15.14! So I shelled out $62.48 (tax included). That's a $31.54 markup! There are other areas where I am not satisfied with some charges billed. Do the overcharges merit the otherwise satisfactory services performed? Doubtful, I shall soon see. But I hope some adjustments will be made to a more reasonable total.

I first started looking into dental care because of a concern with his lip tie. A friend recommended this office after having a good experience bringing his own kids here. When my son was a newborn, I got two different opinions on his lip tie which were from his pediatrician and an ENT. But once his teeth started coming in, I felt it was time to get a third opinion from a pediatric dentist. I really appreciate how spacious and clean the waiting area is. There are plenty of toys and play areas to keep little ones entertained. My son especially loves the playhouse and the train/car table. Once we check in, I usually let him play for a bit before he gets called back. The teeth cleaning process itself is quick and simple. A gentle brush is all it takes at this age. Afterward, he gets to pick a prize (a nice touch to help calm him down), and then the doctor comes in to check his gums and teeth before we're on our way. As a concerned mom, I do sometimes worry about my son being disruptive to other patients. I really wish there was a private room or closed-off area for toddlers, just to help minimize distractions and make the experience a little easier for everyone. More recently, my son had a fall on a stone pavement and chipped his tooth. I called the office right away, and thankfully they were able to fit him in. The doctor performed X-rays and despite all the tears, she gave us clear guidance, a care sheet, and a list of soft foods to help with his recovery. Luckily, there was no serious damage. Taking your baby to the dentist is never easy, and I'm sure it'll get better with time. But overall, I'm really happy with the care and attention my son has received from the staff here.
