After I got my cleaning, I simply asked if he could visually examine my tonsils and he looked annoyed and proceeded to pull my tongue out EXTREMELY HARD!! I began squirming and wasn't able to speak to I made noises to express my discomfort and he kept pulling! I was in pain and tried to tell him to stop!! But the man just went up close to my face screaming "I'm not done! Sit still!" And so I had no choice but to endure the pain as he checked out my tonsils and then after a minute let go and walked away saying "you're fine". No apology no compassion!! BEFORE ANY NEW PATIENTS DECIDE TO VISIT THIS CLINIC - PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW. I know it's long but I think everyone should know this before they end up experiencing what me and so many others have experienced at this clinic. Please note - I typically am one to give 5 star reviews any chance that I get. I felt convicted to give a 1 star as to help others know not to visit this dentist office. They lied to me about coverage/costs, provided unsatisfactory dental work, and gave unsolicited services to rack up the bill (ATTACHED). INSURANCE FRAUD: On August 2nd, I visited Cypress Dental for a teeth cleaning. I called beforehand to see if I was in-network and if a cleaning would be fully covered. Daisy says yes, which I soon find out was not true. Upon arriving at their clinic, Daisy collected my insurance information, called to verify coverage, and notified me that I was actually out-of-network.... Why did she tell me I was in-network then switch it up on me? idunno. Wasted my time and gas. This is where the insurance fraud starts I guess. After Daisy gets off the phone with my insurance, she tells me that my insurance still fully covers teeth cleaning; just not deep cleaning, x-rays, or exams. I tell her that I would prefer to go somewhere where I don't have to pay anything since my insurance would cover a cleaning, exam, and x-ray if in-network. She then proceeds to tell me that the x-ray/exam was necessary first step and that it would be free since she would process me as a cash patient and that the cleaning would be fully covered by insurance. I was skeptical and questioned her multiple times. I told her I wanted to be sure that I would not have to pay anything at all and that I was getting a good clean since my insurance only covers 2 cleanings per year. She confirms multiple times and assures me that this would be free on my end. I finally move forward. An assistant comes out and promptly completes my x- rays (she was nice). (UNSATISFACTORY DENTAL WORK) The actual dentist then spends less than 4 minutes TOTAL cleaning my teeth. I'm not exaggerating.... 4 minutes +/- 1minute. I questioned why he spent so little time and he said that I made his job easy for him by taking good care of my teeth. I told him that I haven't been to a dentist in 2 years and asked him to at least pick my teeth, and he said that he already did and that the tools he uses are very sharp. If you look at the picture I've attached, you can see that they billed $170 for Prophylaxis - Adult (CLEANING) , and Comp Oral Evaluation(EXAM). $170 for 4 minutes? That in itself could be considered fraudulent, but at the very least anyone can conclude that a cleaning lasting 4 minutes is rushed. (UNSOLICITED SERVICES) He then instructs his assistant to "polish my teeth" which I thought was part of the cleaning process but no... it was just a means to charge me money for services I did not ask for whatsoever. Charges not covered at all by insurance that I found out about later on. This clinic cares more about taking advantage of insurance coverage, and extracting money from their patients rather than actually providing great service. They charged $300 total for their lazy and rushed services. They billed $100 for x-rays and $70 an exam which they lied about and said would be of no charge at all. They charged $100 for a 4 minute cleaning. They charged $30 for some unsolicited "Topical Application of Fluoride" I would not return here even if the service was free. All the hassle of signing up, x-rays just for 4 minutes of incomplete cleaning. read more

I brought my daughter here a week ago because her back tooth was hurting and her original dentist said she might have a root canal. The front office ladies were very nice here. But the main doctor (which i think is the older man) was very rude to me, my daughter, and the front office ladies. He scared my daughter and was screaming at her and me. I appreciate Cypress Dental. Located in Covina CA. I think they can do just about everything. Dr. lsherf, was highly recommended by my general dentist because of his root canal success rate. Many people come from all over CA and beyond because of his dental care, his education and his experience. It was a 4-hour drive for me, I would have drove 8 hours. We were referred to cypress dental for my son's root canal. My son is 13yrs old and he has autism. I know its hard to treat my son because of hs behavior. Dr. Ismail didnt do sedation i was worried that my son wouldnt cooperate but i just thought to myself that the Doctor knows what he is doing. During the procedure my son couldnt stay still and made sudden movement which is dangerous because he can get poke. I thought at times that the procedure wouldnt get done. so my dentist sent me here to get 4 retreatments (spaced out over 6 months) so I have visited this office 3 times total. the doctors are very nice and efficient , explain everything thoroughly, answer all questions and make sure i wasn't confused about any part of the process. WARNING!!! PLEASE READ!!!! Do not come here, the place does not meet cleaning standards. Dr.Elsherief who did my root canal grabbed his phone in the middle of the procedure and did not change his gloves. He gets calls as well and will leave you lying down until he manages the call which is about 10-20 min while I am laying there with my mouth open. He states that he is the best and that if I don't want to wait I can leave. Throughout the procedure, I told him it hurt and he said it's okay you are fine. I clearly am not fine if I am telling you it hurts. The most disrespectful office I have ever been to. I also got a cleaning from one of the other female Dr. who did not even clean my teeth properly I had to go to another office to get the work done correctly. They also billed my insurance wrong they charge you for more than what is originally stated on the treatment plan. Overall never come here you would be waiting for more than half an hour as your appointment time is never honored. I am soooo happy! This place is GREAT. I can't believe the negative reviews I read because my experience was nothing but amazing. I came in for a root canal. I was very nervous because the last time I had one done I left in tears and pain. (Not at cypress dental) Dr Elsherif was so gentle and I didn't feel a dam thing. Honestly I barely even felt the needle they used to numb me. I was also so sad thinking that I was going to loose the crown over the tooth that needed the root canal, but the dentist was able to save that for me as-well. Not only was everything pain free and easy, but I also don't need to worry about getting a replacement crown now. 11 outa 10 so happy. On my first visit there they outlined everything that needed to be done and made it a reality for me with custom implants. After cross checking pricing with other sources I know I received the highest value for all the work I had performed. The team worked with my insurance and worked with me to cover all the services. Sadly, I can't give less than one star. I had one of the worst experiences with Dr. Ismail Elsherif. After replacing a faulty crown just seven months ago, it broke again, and despite spending thousands of dollars, the material was of poor quality. The clinic initially promised to replace it at no extra charge but changed their tone after I waited 2 hours. Elsherif refused to replace the crown and became aggressive when I questioned him, especially since my tooth has bacteria and a bad smell coming out of it, he started raising his voice at me and getting close to my face. My daughter intervened, and we were thrown out of the clinic. This clinic is unprofessional, rude, and expensive, and their dental work is subpar at best. Do not waste your time or money here unless you want to end up with poor-quality treatment, unclean dental practices, and a hostile dentist who treats his patients terribly. I'm incredibly disappointed and will be taking further action. read more

So I had an appointment and when I went in everyone was so nice and friendly except Dr Elsherif I needed a root canal So he placed this plastic thing in my mouth I'm not gonna lie I started to have a panic attack and I was trying to tell him and he raised his voice at me and said I'm not going to take it off it's for your own safety (he was very rough from that point on) well as I'm laying there trying to focus on my breathing he stops mid treatment and goes out side to receive a delivery as I'm waiting my mouth so dry the plastic thing still in my mouth the girl I don't remember her name but very helpful sprayed some water in my mouth and put vaseline on my lips she said so they won't bleed they were too dry I look out the window and he is observing the delivery guys bring down a chair so I took pictures and when he comes back in I'm sure someone told him and he says "I needed to get that delivery because they have brought me the wrong things before and I know you were taking pictures of me idk for what but you are not going to get better work done then here anywhere else!!! (As I uh-huh him since that's all I could say) then he finished his work! That was very unprofessional I work in the medical Field and it's always patient care first!!!!! Dr is the best, he is a highly skilled instructor at Loma Linda that also runs his own clinic. He is truly passionate about providing great care and also takes medi-cal patients. DO NOT COME HERE. PLACE IS A SCAM AND RUDE!!! I am still livid as I'm writing this review. I had come a month prior to see what work I needed done, it was my first time here. Daisy had given me a price of everything I needed. Me being me, I like to write everything down in my notes to make sure I don't forget things. I wrote down the prices along with the treatments I needed. She also gave me a copy. Today I had my appointment and Daisy had given me a different price from what was given a month ago. I shrugged it off because it wasn't much of a difference. When I was about to pay, she said she forgot to add something else. So the price changed once more. After my cleaning was done, I decided to not get my wisdom teeth removed because I felt it was unnecessary. I was starting to get the feeling that they just wanted to give me a procedure so they can make money off the insurance. When I asked for a refund, Daisy forgot to charge me something else (again). At this point I was frustrated because how is it that I paid everything already, about to walk out the door, and she decides to charge me $50 more. I got frustrated and it was obvious, so they took me to a room to try to explain to me about the price. Elman Elawady, whom I believe was an Egyptian female hygienist (describing her so you can stay away from her), was upset at me. She was sooooo rude at me when the mistake was on the receptionist!!!!! Wtf! So I asked her why is she being rude when I'm still being calm, and when the receptionist was the one who made the mistake multiple times. This b**** Elman, stood up gave me a smirk and SARCASTICALLY said "is my tone better for you?!" I completely lost it and cussed her out. Dr ElSherif is nothing short of AMAZING! I had two root canals done by him today at the same time (teeth side by side) and NO pain! One was a retreat that my regular dentist did years ago and let me tell you this was a totally different experience. And only 1 shot and I was completely numbed. I can't believe it still. My regular dentist gave me multiple shots and I could never get numb and had given me so much anxiety/panic from painful experiences. I am so pleased and am recommending anyone that needs this procedure to come to the best! I drove an hour to see him and I would drive longer than that knowing I would be in good hands. They are great with my girls and never over work them he will break up in separate appointments any procedure they need so they are not in the chair long which with a toddler that I can't keep still that's very helpful for me and believe it or not she does great with him and loves it when Dr. Elsherif tells her to "open big like a mouth of a lion" lol she tells me that at home when she wants to pretend she's checking my teeth. Had my gums deep cleaned last week n a couple fillings plus root canal. Went back yesterday for wisdom teeth removal. Dr. Ismael was very honest and works super quick. All 4 wisdoms were removed in about 20 mins & I didn't feel a thing. Nevertheless the Dr. provided me his personal cell line and told me not to hesitate and call if I experienced anything out of the ordinary. So far everything is on schedule. I'm thinking about getting braces done here as they offer a payment plan. read more
