More recently, we enjoyed "Frozen" and "Come From Away" and are excited for many of the upcoming shows for the season! The production quality for this mid-size theatre is excellent! The theatre is not huge, but there are many seats to fill. We have sat in rows Q, R, and S, and the views are still great! Seats are relatively comfortable and easy to find as well. Show prices will vary on where you sit, but it does feel intimate enough to connect with the actors wherever you sit. Even though we live nowhere near the area, La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts has become one of our favourites. Additionally , the parking lot is huge due to the many businesses in this plaza, and we've always been able to park relatively near the theater. Plenty of food options here, too! We will gladly drive the extra miles to support the arts and enjoy musical theatre in La Mirada!

TIP: Ladies, go to the restroom BEFORE the performance instead of intermission. Trust me, the line moves quickly and there is plenty of time before the show. Exiting the parking lot was very easy and in no time at all. Can't wait to return to this theatre again. Ok, bye.

I will find other forms of entertainment. Before I tell the why of my first sentence. I want you to understand that for 22 years I had season tickets to a live theatre in Glendale till they went under due to Covid and owners' divorce. I've have seen a lot of live theatre what happened at the Carpenter Center is the last straw. Goodbye live theatre. First the Actors, Actress, and Musicians. Thank you for sharing your talents. As a person who can miss all the notes all the time, I truly appreciate your talents and abilities. I hold the Producers and Directors responsible for the Show. As for the Carpenter Center, Musical Theatre West, and other places and production companies. I'm done. When you advertise you are doing "Joesph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" or any other production this is what I expect to see. If you are making a new adaption of the play, let everyone know before they spend their hard-earned money. This visual experience is part of the performance. Your new adaption was for the most part very poor. As my mother of 85 said, "I kept closing me eyes hoping it would change." I laughed, yet never having been to a "Chip and Dale" review it's the only thought that came to my mind to describe what was being presented. Last note Bruno Mars is not a King, sorry, a very disappointing part of the performance. You didn't want Elvis okay, then use a King... Michael Jackson, the king of pop or James Brown the king of Soul. I just love the Pharaoh as Evlis.

We were able to tour the concert hall and were able to see live musician practice sessions. The concert hall lobby, stage, and the overall building is beautiful. The acoustics and architecture are world class. One thing to note about the concert hall is that strollers are not allowed inside. However they do have kind employees that will help check your stroller for you and will provide an identification tag so that you can retrieve the stroller at the designated storage locations. We are looking forward to returning for a future performance.

As many of us know, Classical music is not for everyone, unless you have a special type of interest…read moretowards that kind of music. Classical music is something that I grew up with and still enjoy listening to until now. I can name a lot of my favorite composers from back in early 16, 17, 18 hundreds but I'd rather not. I listen to symphony/classical music with a different ear. It is always relaxing, soothing, and calming. Also, let me not forget to mention that I grew up playing the piano very well. That also has something to do with it. The Renée & Henry Segerstrom Hall is the newest addition to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts campus, opening in 2006. I have been to this place 5 times in my life. Each time that I have gone there has been a beautiful experience, top notch, in every way. Great location with so many dining options within walking distance & the Pacific Symphony are glorious, glamorous and amazing to listen to. This hall is GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL, & EXTRAORDINARY! It has 4 levels and no matter where you sit, you can see and hear the performance very clearly. The sound system is FANTASTIC!! I have seen/heard Itzhak Perlman, Scandinavian dance performance, couple of Jazz artists like Berry Perkins Bobby Rush, and few others.. On February 7th, a friend of mine invited me to the event "St.Clair Conducts Beethoven & Don Quixote". Tickets started at $33 and up. Our tickets were $108.00 each. I know, pretty steep, but, totally worth it. We were sitting in the orchestra level row U, seats 10 & 11. I can go on and on and on about this wonderful venue, the architecture of the building, but my fingers are now tired, so I will conclude my review by saying that staff are very professional, helpful, ushers will direct/escort you to your seats, parking is $20 and the rest I am leaving it to your own imagination. Pristine, super clean restrooms. Lights off, and enjoy the program:-)!! I wish this place was close to my city/home.

Mango Fest on August 30, 2026, was a hit--and hotter than the sun!…read more Hosted by Ube Fest in the parking lot of the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, this event was free to attend, which is always a win. Music was blasting throughout the festival, creating a fun atmosphere, but be prepared for long lines for both ordering and food pickup. Most vendors were cashless and accepted credit cards, Zelle, or Venmo, although some did take cash. A few vendors even made the long trek down from the Bay Area. The biggest challenge was definitely the heat. It was a hot day, and the event could have used more shaded areas. Lots of people gathered around the tables to cool off, while others were there to actually eat. The food was okay overall, but I'm hoping to try the BBQ next time around. My favorite was the Mango Crumble halo-halo from D Baker's Lab--definitely worth trying! Prices can add up quickly, so I'd recommend going with friends and sharing dishes. That way, you can sample more without spending a small fortune. Heads up: the sticky rice line was REALLY long. If you're driving, bring a cooler with plenty of water. You'll save money on drinks and, more importantly, stay hydrated while you're out in the heat. Overall, a fun free event with plenty of food, shopping, music, and mango-filled treats. Just come prepared for the heat and the lines!
