Came to see the musical 42nd street. There is parking in a large structure across the street from the theatre. The seats are leveled with each row slightly higher than the next to ensure everyone can have a good view of the show. Concessions are very reasonable at $1 each item (soda, water, and chips). The show was well done. My only negative is the microphones had several episodes where it had scratchy interference that made it difficult to hear the artists.

Beautiful theater! I was surprised with tickets to see The Little Mermaid musical here. The location does have parking you can pay for but I think if you come about an hour before, you can find plenty of free parallel parking. If you bought tickets online, you can just follow the link in your email and show the digital ticket. No need to waste paper and print. The lobby is spacious with seats and restrooms available. You can also rent some ballrooms here for a wedding or events. The seats inside the theater are comfy and are labeled with a # on the flipped up seat. The Little Mermaid play itself was better than expected with a sing along at the end of common Christmas music. The cast, stage, and props were all incredible! I highly recommend seeing any plays at this location.

Great theater and ballroom. Very beautiful and quaint. This is the home for the Vietnamese American Philharmonic. There are also other smaller productions and musicals here...but of epic presentation. This is also a great place to hold wedding receptions.

Took the family to watch A Christmas Carol. We watched the Saturday 7:30 pm showing. I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem and thoroughly enjoyed this musical. Seating is great, it's a small theatre so you'll get a great view anywhere you sit. I absolutely loved it's live orchestra, Dale Jones (Mr. Scrooge) fantastic. I can't say enough great things about the entire cast. Lively singing, dancing and a poignant story sure to touch your heartstrings perhaps shed a tear or two. I brought my wiggly 6 yr old and ever so cautious easily scared 8 year old. Both delightedly sat through the 2 hour show (with 1 fifteen minute intermission). The show is not scary at all, the production found the perfect balance and never took the dark and ghostly scenes past the threshold to the realm of fear. If I could, I would come back again to watch the show this season. After the show, all of the actors made themselves available for conversation and photo ops in the lobby. Thank you! I highly recommend the show. Its a perfect way to support great talent and good-quality community theatre. Parking: there's a big parking structure across the street, directly across the theater.

Although a small venue the staff is polite is clean easy to park and a good staff of well-trained actors and singers shows have a good singing and an elegant peel the lobby is stunning with Art and beautiful architecture although I'm not big into musicals I did enjoy the lovely tale of Joseph and his Technicolor dream coat Once I get some culture I may enjoy others but it may take a while as I am more of a movie person

If you've yet to experience the book, you'll be enlightened: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/golden-west-college-mainstage-theater-huntington-beach?select=T8CKz6UQoLckecoKqeincg#xcpkDky8g78aToWGiJ7upQ . But if you have read "Moby Dick," don't let that stop you from attending. While the enigmatic, white whale certainly occupies space in this imaginative adaptation, the spotlight is instead directed upon the depths of character development and the relationships among the Pequod's crew. Awesome performance notes and applause go to the intriguing Elijah and Father Mapple. As a venue for experiencing community theater, I whole-heartedly recommend GWC's Mainstage. The seating is intimate and comfortable, the ushers are helpful and all smiles, and the direction of the theater is completely supportive of its cast. In fact, the programs themselves open the college's doors for available enrollment, course offerings, and audition information. Makes you wonder... Have you yet had your 15 minutes? The sounds was a bit off so it was hard to hear the cast; the mic kept going in and out on some folks. There were refreshments (cheesecake and coffee) for purchase in the lobby during intermission. Everyone is amazing and gracious in spite of doing this over and over and I'm certain no two shows are the same. I would only change one thing and that is that the theater request all guests to have a slight bit of theater etiquette. I understand this is an audience friendly show with interactions between cast and audience, some of these families do not prepare their children for how to behave nor correct inappropriate behavior during the performance. At last night's show a young boy hit "Billy" so hard with the stuffed rabbit that his glasses flew into my lap 5 feet away. We noticed "Billy" had a band aid on the rest of the show. Whether that was a joke or real, the boy should have been reined in by his parents long before because he was also talking or shouting out through the performance. The cast handled it with ultimate professionalism and rolled with the "punches" as it were. This truly shows how amazing they all are and why The Maverick is a great place to see a show. Now if they would just do Clue on stage again ;-)
