I'd go again to see if it's a diff experience

Menu prices were a bit higher than average but that's expected at these type of places. They have Mediocre food but great talent! The performance was in the larger room. The comics really connected with the audience because they had a bit more time to share their various experiences. The meal was delightful as it always has been. The service excellent. We met MIKE one of the founders of the club in the parking lot earlier in the evening, I had forgotten my tickets at home and couldn't find them on my phone. MIKE made sure that the front receptionist would accommodate us. It was wonderful. At the conclusion of the evening as we were driving home, my phone rang. It was the comedy club calling to let us know that one in my party had left her sweater on the chair. Did we want to come back to get it? We told them to just give it to someone who needed it because we were about to get on the freeway at that point. What a wonderful surprise that they took the care and initiative to figure out who was sitting at that table and to reach out to us, that's service ! I recommend this comedy club wholeheartedly. You'll have a great time and a great meal at an affordable rate. It's one of the best things going on the coast. Enjoy! Laugh!! Have fun. And do take the time to examine the wonderful collection of Hollywood memorabilia and comics' costumes that are on display. It's a special little museum its own right.

The lineup and head liner, Craig Robinson, seemed promising....sadly, that was not the case. We arrived at 7:25 PM (doors were supposed to be open at 7:15 PM). We were told to come back in 10-20 minutes. There was no line or people in sight. We went in close to 8:00 PM and in total we were about 15-20 people spread out in seats. There were probably like 200 seats plus booths. I looked at their IG page and this show was not promoted at all. By the end of the night I think only like 10-15 of us remained (including staff). The comedians really didn't seem like they wanted to be there and sadly Craig Robinson spent his entire set sitting at his keyboard playing random songs. He must have scrolled through his phone like 15x looking for jokes and nothing was landing. Every single comedian told D jokes, which I don't mind them here and there but it was excessive from all of them and just not landing with the 15 of us there. I've been to many comedy shows and this was just awkward. Drinks are overpriced and there wasn't food...maybe a cheese thing, but that's all.

Parking was easy--we skipped driving around looking for a spot and parked in the structure directly across the street. Best of all, parking was free. We had general admission tickets, which required a two-item minimum purchase per person. Since we arrived close to showtime, we ended up seated toward the back. We could still see the stage, but the lower table section definitely offers a better view. The food was decent--pricey, but decent. You can either order through a server or scan a QR code and order from your phone. Our server recommended ordering through her, but after waiting quite a while for a beer, I switched to ordering online. Since all they really had to do was bring the food out, I tipped 15%. We ordered the sliders with fries and the chicken quesadillas, both of which were good. Our other two items were a beer and bottled water. I also noticed other guests ordering burgers and desserts, which looked pretty good. The overall design is very similar to the Irvine location. The restrooms were nice, but they were a bit messy because the seat-cover dispensers were difficult to use. There were pieces of paper covers scattered around several stalls. Other than that, the bathrooms were fine. We came to see Tumua, and I'm glad this was the venue where we finally got to see him perform. Instead of offering a chair while we waited, the staff was rude and dismissive toward us. It took getting the manager involved, who was also extremely rude to us, before a chair was finally brought over. What should have been a fun night out turned into an uncomfortable experience where my friend was made to feel like a burden for needing basic assistance. I would expect a venue to show more compassion and consideration toward guests with mobility limitations.

By the end of show my behind hurt, my knees hurt. It was just awful. This is also the first time in my many years of show going I saw (and heard) people leaving during intermission due the discomfort of the seats. One lady even screamed in the narrow passage way to I assume the rest of her party (MY KNEES CANT TAKE ANYMORE). Her husband then said yeah Im running her home and ill be back. This was my first time going to this theater so my first impressions were good at first. Staff seemed personable. We went to see August Wilson's Gem of the Ocean. I have never been to a theater in a U shape before. I have decided I dont care for it. There were so many times where I didnt know what was going on because the actors back was to me. I dont know if there was a kiss, a nose snuggle, who knows. My partner also point out that in one scene on our side we saw that one actor was rubbing anothers foot. This was how the piece came back from the dark. He pointed out that the folks on the other side had zero clue because they just saw her back. He also pointed out how much wasnt really used and the set could have been "pushed back" for better viewing and I agree. I also found it distracting for me to see the audience across, folks were laughing and speaking in times that didnt call for it and for someone like me who is ever observant it was a distraction. Final complaint the smoke machine was too much for me. It literally made me start coughing. The people I was with also said it got to them in other ways. The sound was good, lighting good. If I am invited back to a performance at this place as I was this time, I would have to see the run time of the piece. This piece went on for almost 3 hours and oh how could I forget started close to 20 minutes late! Just not cool man. As a first time goer it made me wonder if this is the norm for this theater and would have to keep that in mind as well.
