I originally purchased balcony tickets for myself, my mom, and my sister. My mom is elderly and has difficulty going up and down stairs. When we arrived, a very kind staff member noticed our situation and directed me to Guest Services to see if they could help. They immediately worked with us and moved us to seats that my mom could access without having to climb the stairs. Once we got to those seats, we realized we had another issue. My sister, who has special needs, has wider hips and unfortunately could not comfortably fit in the seat. Instead of making us feel embarrassed or like we were causing a problem, the staff were incredibly understanding, respectful, and attentive. They worked to find another solution and ultimately moved us down to the orchestra area where there were larger seats that worked for my sister. What meant the most to me was how much they genuinely seemed to care that all three of us were comfortable and able to enjoy the show. They didn't just tell us there was nothing they could do--they kept helping until they found something that worked for our family. I wish I had gotten the names of everyone who helped us because they absolutely deserve recognition. Taking care of my elderly mother and my special-needs sister with such kindness and dignity meant more to me than they probably realize. It can be hard to come across truly exceptional customer service, and Segerstrom Center for the Arts went above and beyond for us. I am so grateful. And Beauty and the Beast was absolutely wonderful! Thank you for a beautiful show, a wonderful evening with my family, and most importantly, for treating us with so much compassion and respect. Five stars without hesitation.

I am docking points for my negative experience here. First of all, I was in orchestra row B and I asked where I would need to enter (go up the ramp or enter on ground level). I was directed to go up the ramp, which had 3x the line as the ground level, only to eventually find that ground level was closer and had a much shorter line. I had a handheld camera smaller than the size of my iPhone. The security attendant didn't know whether that was permitted. He asked someone else, who also seemed unsure/hesitated/stuttered at first, then he insisted that it was prohibited. I would understand if it's truly prohibited, but my issues with this: 1. It seemed like he was just making up rules 2. Their website says no PROFESSIONAL recording devices, but personal device recording is okay in the lobby (obviously wouldn't do it during the show) 3. I had to go all the way back to my car to put it in there. I read another review that the workers/attendants are rude; for me, this includes security.

The production of "Fences" which we attended was well produced, and directed. The staging and costumes were so well done they enhanced the overall power of the play. The acting was breathtaking and the characters were believable and empathetic. The lead actor gave as powerful a performance as you could possibly imagine. I can't wait for the next production! Not a bad seat in the house, and the stage is pretty large for a small community theater. It may be tricky to find, since they are located on the campus of a high school, but don't let that deter you. We were able to tour the concert hall and were able to see live musician practice sessions. The concert hall lobby, stage, and the overall building is beautiful. The acoustics and architecture are world class. One thing to note about the concert hall is that strollers are not allowed inside. However they do have kind employees that will help check your stroller for you and will provide an identification tag so that you can retrieve the stroller at the designated storage locations. We are looking forward to returning for a future performance.

That also has something to do with it. The Renée & Henry Segerstrom Hall is the newest addition to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts campus, opening in 2006. I have been to this place 5 times in my life. Each time that I have gone there has been a beautiful experience, top notch, in every way. Great location with so many dining options within walking distance & the Pacific Symphony are glorious, glamorous and amazing to listen to. This hall is GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL, & EXTRAORDINARY! It has 4 levels and no matter where you sit, you can see and hear the performance very clearly. The sound system is FANTASTIC!! I have seen/heard Itzhak Perlman, Scandinavian dance performance, couple of Jazz artists like Berry Perkins Bobby Rush, and few others.. On February 7th, a friend of mine invited me to the event "St.Clair Conducts Beethoven & Don Quixote". Tickets started at $33 and up. Our tickets were $108.00 each. I know, pretty steep, but, totally worth it. We were sitting in the orchestra level row U, seats 10 & 11. I can go on and on and on about this wonderful venue, the architecture of the building, but my fingers are now tired, so I will conclude my review by saying that staff are very professional, helpful, ushers will direct/escort you to your seats, parking is $20 and the rest I am leaving it to your own imagination. Pristine, super clean restrooms. Lights off, and enjoy the program:-)!! I wish this place was close to my city/home.

It's a great place to make friends or have a cheap date night. I watch at least 2 shows a month here. If you've never seen improv before, I'd recommend watching Teacher's Lounge, which performs the first Friday of every month at 9:30pm. They invite an interesting guest to tell true stories and the performers (who all teach improv) create longer scenes based on the stories we just heard. They offer improv classes. There is a drop in class open to all levels on Wednesdays, 101 classes offered a few times throughout the year, and advanced classes. It's not all improv. I've watched drag shows, a sea shanty night, and a fictionalized beauty pageant. The theater also hosts fundraising shows to support nonprofits. They're located inside the Starlight Theater. When you enter, make an immediate left to purchase a ticket or show your online ticket. There is parking in the front and the back (off McClintock Way). The theater has two restrooms in the back.

One small suggestion: when asking the audience for ideas, maybe give women the first chance to respond- it'd be a nice nod to the cast. Tickets were super affordable ($5 cash / $7 card [we bought ahead on Eventbrite]). Highly recommend for a fun, low-cost night out!

The lobby was very clean and shiny, and the restrooms were large and clean. The theatre's interior was very beautiful and comfortable. Every comfortable seat in the theatre offers a perfect view of the stage, and the sound system was perfect. The employees were all very friendly and professional, and they assisted anyone and everyone who needed help. Though the music was a tad different from what we are used to on the radio, the performers worked hard and did a GREAT job of keeping the audience engaged and entertained.
