My current doctor had access to the 2020 scan, and said that it was *not* OK, the results showed bone loss and I should have been notified. If I can save one person from her, this review will be worth the time I spent on it. And, yes, I will file a complaint with the medical board, but Yelp will reach more people

This is an review update to recognize one of the best employees I've had the pleasure to work with…read morein the FP&SMA. For the second time in about a year I did an overnight sleep study in the Sleep Center in order to be approved for 3rd time of machine to treat my sleep apnea. As with the sleep study last time, Shannon was my assigned sleep tech (aka polysomnographic technologist). She has the innate ability to do her job while engaging in the most awesome conversation of any sleep tech I've worked with, and not counting the last two with Shannon, I've had at least three other sleep studies over the years. Sleep studies are hard for me, especially at this time of year. I had to leave my family on a Sunday night and drive 15 miles to a sleep center. It's cold and, many times, rainy. With St. Michael, the bad thing is that the center is an elevator ride down a level and a VERY long walk across the building to the door. You have to look for wall and sandwich board signs. Once at the door you press a button to have a tech buzz you in. Sitting in the lobby, you know the night will involve a bunch of stuff that you fear will prevent the sleep you're there to have for the study. And you're alone, especially after you have to power off your phone. So, for me, the procedure makes you somewhat anxious. Then Shannon comes in and tells you she'll be conducting your study for the night. Last time, we immediately hit it off because that's who she is. This time, it was a welcome reunion with an old friend. We took up the conversation where we left off. I still dislike these studies but working with Shannon, or just hearing her voice over the room intercom, relaxed me. Yes, I was able to sleep and yes, she had to wake me up a couple of times to make position adjustments to the wiring harness. But I had the best, most refreshing sleep I've had in weeks. Shannon assured me that from the preliminary results of the study my numbers looked good. This meant I responded well to the type of machine and mask used for the study. Now, I hope to never have a another sleep study but if I do, I sure hope Shannon will again be my polysomnographic technologist.

She is also my personal doctor who is helping me balance out my hormones and hot flashes. (TMI ?)anyway... Here's why you should see her- 1. She takes her time with you- first visit is around 1 hour and a half 2. She reads blood work in a holistic way- meaning she takes all the results and interprets them differently than must saying, " you're fine- you're in the normal range" which I have found many other doctors do. 3. She really cares about your health 4. She's a smart cookie! I have sent people to her with thyroid issues, hormonal imbalances ,decreased immune systems and cardiovascular health problems . Highest recommendation. No caveats…read more I've been a patient of Greenlake Primary Care for 30+ years. Dr Krista Hodne is my current doctor. (Previously, Dr Busch and Dr Starkebaum.) I'm a cancer survivor, among other stuff. Nothing about my care is easy, straightforward. Some of my troubles have taken years to bring under control. Dr Hodne is the best partner, life coach, and caregiver anyone can ask for. She and her team have gone above and beyond for me, time and again. Two strategies are proven to improve patient outcomes. Constructive long-term relationships, obviously. Emphasizing wellness over treating disease. Knowing this, I enthusiastically supported Greenlake's switch to a concierge model. The concierge model is a rejection of our nation's immoral, inefficient, profiteering fee-for-service model. It's a return to our Rockwell-esque notions of the family doctor. It allows doctors to spend as much time as needed with a patient, to do research, to coordinate all the referrals, to do battle with insurers, etc. No one is getting rich in family practice. Or running an independent clinic. Do the math, read the news. The providers at Greenlake Primary Care are making huge sacrifices. Just to keep the lights on. Just to deliver actual healthcare. Yes, concierge requires memberships to make it work. Until our nation adopts Medicare For All, it's the best available option. I chose to be a member, despite living off credit cards (at the time), because I wanted to get better. I chose correctly. You can too.
