I called and scheduled a new patient cleaning after confirming they do take my insurance. I was not…read moretold that they don't do the cleaning the first appointment. My previous experience (Indiana dentist) led me to believe I was getting my teeth cleaned, as when they asked what the appointment was for I said to get my teeth cleaned and checked. I filled out paperwork before arriving, and also provided my insurance card upon check in. I got my X-rays, and then waited for the doc for about 20 minutes, after he looked me over I sat, 2 hours I wait for them to do a check for gingivitis that took 4 minutes and then send me up to the office manager, who THEN tells me they can't verify my insurance or tell me what the cost of the visit is. Two and a half hours after I checked in. Then wanted me to schedule with them not knowing if they take my insurance or cost of services. That is illegal since the no surprises act was passed. If my insurance couldn't be verified, I should have been presented with cost PRIOR to services being administered. I'm canceling my families appointments for next week. Now I will have to pay out of pocket at the next dentist bc they used my one a year that was covered. As someone who works in Medical Insurance billing I'm embarrassed at how the billing staff handled everything start to finish.

One of his staff has vertigo, and she would, graciously, assist Dr. Sheets with my care during my visits, which was comforting. Life changing events over the past couple of years, resulted in my not seeing Dr. Sheets for care during that time. A couple of months ago, I called to make an appointment with Dr. Sheets, and I was told that Dr. Sheets will no longer see me, because I would be considered a new patient again. He is one of the only dentists I know of who cares for patients who have vertigo, and this is very disappointing. Hopefully, he will reconsider.

Then why was it exactly like every other cleaning I have ever received? She also said that we had talked about the price and she was sure they had told me it would be more. However, his business practices are VERY questionable. I was double billed more than once, and after our 3rd visit the complaints started about how little our insurance pays. Like somehow that was our fault or concern. His office told me I would owe 30.00, then proceeded to Bill me 92.00 for the "balance" over the contracted rate, which is illegal. On top of that, he knew full well we are a military family and he didn't care at all. He sits in his beach house and drives a Mercedes that we helped him get by protecting his freedom. Too bad he could care less. He did good work on me, but I'd you go there, be prepared to lay out some serious green. Don't worry, he will remind you early and often how much you owe him. I went in for my regular cleaning and after starting the periodontal charting, Dr. Garcia came in…read moreand decided I needed a deep cleaning treatment. I recently had this procedure done at my prior dentist and was not impressed and did not want it done again. She also told me I needed a laser treatment as well that is also not covered by my insurance. Before the hygienist started my cleaning, she tried selling me a water pic which I told her I wasn't interested. Then she told me that she would wait to do my cleaning so I could come back for the deep cleaning! I insisted that I was there for my cleaning and I want it done. She reluctantly did a quick cleaning. Then when I tried to schedule my six month cleaning, they REFUSED! She told me that is not how they do things and that once my insurance gave them an estimate, I would have to schedule the "recommended" procedure first. The dentist and hygienist both spend more time selling me products and services then they do working on my teeth. They have a nice new office with state of the art equipment. I'm sure this how they are paying for it!
