Be sure to double check the amount before check out. ### I unfortunately left disappointed after a decent first experience in the salon. They quoted me initially during a consultation for 3 hours from 1-4pm. When I arrived for my appointment, my stylist took me 20min after my appointment time started as she was busy with another customer. We ended the appointment at 4:22 and I assumed it would still be 3 hours given the delayed start. The receptionist pulled the price up to have the stylist confirm. The stylist shrugged and said "we started a bit late but that's fine." Then I saw the price and they added a full hour to the total price. After tip, it was over $460. Given it was my first time I felt overwhelmed and didn't say anything and cause a scene. I regret not speaking up in the moment. However I don't recommend people go here as they may do the same to you. I won't be returning.

Kirby and Gina, the owners, are both great stylists. I have referred several people to Kirby over the years, and most have remained her loyal clients. I personally wouldn't ever want to have anyone else do my hair. Both ladies share an awesome business ethic and they will pretty much bend over backwards for their clients. They listen attentively to what you want, they are fully open to new ideas, and they will be honest with you about what is, or isn't, possible with your hairstyle. Appontment times are always prompt, and if you have special needs appointment-wise, they will do their best to accomodate you. They value their clients and take care of them very well. I myself would follow them all over the state if they moved, it's so worth the trip to have your hair done by people who absolutely love what they do and are fully invested in helping you look your very best.

However-- KELLIE IS NO LONGER AT THE GARDEN. SHE'S AT POSH DURHAM. I called to get an appt and was told she wasn't there any longer. Luckily, I found her. Thank god. I love The Garden's salon - it's girly and cute and their product selection is great. But the location made it impossible to get an appt. with the best stylist there. (Kellie is so amazing, she was booked 2-3 months out). So ladies, yes, the reviews of Kellie are legit...but don't look for her at The Garden. I give The Garden five stars with Kellie. I have always been a huge fan of the pixie cut and I wore one for over 10+ yrs. One of the main…read morereasons I chose to wear a pixie cut (other than the fact that a cute pixie will make you look and feel sexy) was because I have had SEVERAL bad experiences and I didn't trust anyone with my hair. And I was embarrassed of certain areas of my hair. And every time I would try and give a hairstylist a chance, they would say mean things to me or make me feel even more insecure than I was already feeling. And I gave up on going to the salons. I had lost all trust and faith in hairstylist. But during the pandemic I decided to grow my hair out. Not only was I tired of having to maintain the pixie cut, I just wanted something different. During my transition of growing my hair out I decided to wear braids and this was when I met Brittany. I had began to get my hair braided by Ms. Kandy and while I'm the chair Brittany came in and introduced herself and gave me her card and said to come see her when I was ready to wear my hair. Her sister (who is the owner of Amaka's International Hair Salon) was very nice as well. She too came in a talked me and made me feel comfortable and I felt at home. Anyways, once my hair had reached a length I was okay with wearing out, I did just that. I stepped out on faith and made an appointment with Brittany. She and her sister were so welcoming, I had to go back. I have several areas of my hair that needed some love, and Brittany did just that. She nursed my hair back to life. My first appointment she asked a lot of questions and made me feel extremely comfortable. By the time I made my appointment, my hair had grown out and I was now relaxer free and Not once did Brittany make me feel like it was impossible for me to stay natural. But instead She's always giving me good hair tips on how to maintain my natural hair in between appointments. Brittany is always polite, she's ALWAYS on time, and I'm always her priority while I'm in her chair. I absolutely love my hair and Brittany have renewed my faith in hairstylist. If you're looking for a great hairstylist that cares about you, your hair, and in making you feel special, Go see my girl Brittany! I promise, she's the truth!
