They are out in the middle of nowhere, but trust me, you won't mind a bit. Some of the best barbeque I've ever had. Good fresh corn on the cob. What a cute place and nice friendly people. The seating is in large covered area outdoors. There are taxidermy decors in the entrance area and in the bathroom. There is also a 1950s style jukebox. The front entrance of the restaurant used to be a country store during the 1960s. My bf grew up in Temple and there were people who runs the restaurant that remembered him and his family....everyone was so nice. The bbq was so good. I loved the brisket best and the sides omg, really good baked beans, potato salad and corn. If you love family style all you can eat bbq, come and support this long time bbq icon restaurant. Lots of hype but not a lot to back it up!! My party of 8 ate for around $150. It's family style, which is cool, but only the initial order was quick. Second order was reasonably fast (it's all you can eat), but after that, the service went down hill. You sit there long enough & get full...which could be their plan? We were going to order dessert, but no one ever came (waitress even walked past & didn't even look our way.) Now to the food....it was good but I bet my party only got a total of a fourth of a brisket. They give you lots of sausage & a few ribs. The meat was average. We asked for just brisket & ribs on our last order, but still they put sausage on half the plate. The sides were tasty but nothing to write home about. Probably won't be back. BBQ is served family style April thru October on Friday and Saturday only from 5:30-9pm. Come early, or some of the meat might be sold out! Sausage, ribs, and brisket are on the menu. The sausage is made fresh weekly by the local meat processor, Green's, with the black angus brisket trimmings and pork rib trimmings. The pinto beans are made from scratch. First time here, fairly new to Temple a few church patrons took me here on Friday evening and I liked the atmosphere outdoor/covered pavilion, though covered it was quite comfortable not as hot as one would think especially in the Texas summer HEAT. This a all you can eat type restaurant 14.50 + beverage +dessert and the only option is peach cobbler a- la-mode. The owners and wait staff were all very friendly and they kept the BBQ coming. Country music Walling and Jennings and the boy's playing on the jukebox To coin an old country expression " I was full as a tick" when we left. Just a grt out if the way establishment to go with family and friends. The BBQ was very good ; brisket links and pork ribs are the only meat. This is the second time a group of us road down on a HOT summer's evening of great food and friendship. The ribs were delicious, the sausage tasty and the brisket wasjust as good. After filling ourselves on seconds and thirds we topped it all off with peach cobbler and ice cream. 1st time there - no sweet tea - the sliced brisket and ribs, beans, have no flavor, cole slaw very much vinegar taste. and svc was poor, drinks didn't stay full and we were the first customers at 5:30. the sausage was good, and the best meat at this bbq joint was the fried fish. we are native texans and have eaten plenty of bbq so we knw whats good - we are sorry it wasnt better we love good bbq places - but we wont be going back here. We arrived at 7 pm and were seated promptly. The restaurant opened at 5:30 pm. When we were seated,the hostesss did not inform us that there were limited ribs left. Our party of 6 was served 4 ribs. When we requested more ribs,we were then told that they were out and had no more. The main purpose of our visit was to allow our out of state friends from Florida and Massachusetts to experience delicious Texas ribs. Unfortunately 2 in our party did not even get to taste the ribs!! I understand that Cyclone is open until they no longer have meat to serve but.....ribs are a staple in this country style serving method and it was only 1.5 hours since they had opened!
