I went in and said "do you have any marin parts? i was just at skiis and biikes and they said they only had trek parts", he rudely lectured me that there were no marin parts and no trek parts just bike parts. I proceed to buy the pedals, fender, and rack from their limited selection. I paid for general maintenance and got them installed free. the fender was installed shoddily and rubbed. I had him fix it and it still rubbed again a few days later. Then my bike fell from a bike rack and a piece broke from the rack. I went in and he said "oh so it didn't just break, you dropped your bike. next time don't drop your bike. $5". Bikes fall and falling from a bike rack shouldn't cause a piece to break... I went into skiis and biikes and they completely realigned my fenders and it hasnt rubbed since. A few weeks later the piece they sold me for $5 broke again and the bike didn't even fall. I asked for a refund on the rack and they angrily gave me the $5 back for the part they charged me for. They said it's my fault for keeping a bike in a bike rack. read more

Went there today to get my saddle adjustment and I left my bike at store for 20 minutes as they were all busy but he didn't say no and when I came back after 20 minutes I got my cycle with amazing service. He removed the unnecessary bolts and adjusted bike's saddle the way I wanted for free. Yes, they didn't charge anything. I recommend this to everyone. read more

I've always had a good service experience here. I've bought my kids' bikes here using their half-back program. One one of the bikes there was a problem with the rear wheel. When I went back they simply swapped the wheel with the wheel from another identical bike and said that they would handle the warranty claim for me. Service has been on-time and good. I also like that on my commuter bike they walked me through which components were wearing and needed to be replace - we cleaned some and he notified that it was nearing the end of life, and others we replaced. All clearly explained. Other times, I've been able to hop in on an emergency and they were able to look at it quickly. Obviously with the pandemic I'm sure they are swamped. This store is a smaller location with limited stock on hand especially accessories. They do not offer weekend service or by appointment. Overall the store is a poor representation of cyclepath brand outside toronto. Their staff while seemingly knowledgable is blunt bordering on rude with a don't need your business attitude that ensured they will not get mine. For better service try the new bike shop opening across the street or Urbane Cyclist on college street. read more

I have bought 3 bikes from here, 1 for myself and two for my kids. I have had an incredible service with all maintenance. Staff is both very helpful and friendly and turnaround time has been very quick. I think I have only been charged once for a fix (except for parts) when there was a bigger problem in my gears. These guys and gals are amazing. Simply amazing. Superb service every time. I had my bike serviced here last year. Professional, knowledgeable and customer-focused. Can't get any better. A couple of weeks ago I picked up a new helmet and front/back lights. I'm super picky and it took forever to decide what colour helmet was best - they were super patient. I just went in to see about a squeaky brake and a chain that frequently fell off. The young guys in the front referred me to the bearded and tattooed bike mechanic in the back : guy is a whiz! Bought a bike here today and it was a great experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are lower than other stores in the area for comparable bikes. They don't use Gyro anymore for helmets and the person helping me told me they don't but told me the other stores that did in case I wanted to get a helmet from a different store. I really respect when a company does that and doesn't try to force a lesser product on you. The guy even re-setup my bike computer on my bike (not bought there) because I needed the battery replaced and it wasn't working properly. Will definitely be using them for all my bike needs from now on. read more

If you buy your bike from this place they give you lifetime free maintenance!! SWEET! Everytime I've gone into this store I've gotten very good service and the turn around times on their maintenance is about 3 days which isn't too big of a deal for me personally. They have good quality bikes for good prices and their sales people know what they're talking about and won't just try to push the most expensive thing. read more

Everyone is SUPER friendly and knowledgeable, you always feel welcome when you go in. I bought my bike here a year ago and I love my bike, (I can't remember the guy's name but let's call him mike) Mike helped me choose the perfect bike for me, he didn't try to sell me the most expensive bike or to sell me all the add ons, he was truly helping me find what I needed. I dropped off my son's bike for a tune up at Cyclepath at 2106 Yong Street, Toronto. I was told that the bike will be ready in 2 weeks. I phoned the store to inquire. Then I was told a price which was significantly higher than the original price which was predetermined in writing as just a tune up. The next day I discussed the matter with Matt (operator I believe) and instructed me to call Ron the following day and discuss the matter with him directly.  My son was a bit disappointed when I told him about the hold up. I phoned Ron (the Manager/Owner) and he graciously offered us a discount on the repair to the bike which previously was not agreed to do it. After discussion and review of the matter, Ron didn't hesitate to apologize and offered to waive the cost of extra parts/labor outside the originally agreed tune up. I even offered to accept portions of the cost which was graciously declined in my favour. Such a friendly and welcoming environment. I find it hard to find a bike store with decent service from the maintenance crew, this Cyclepath wasn't much different. I stood there for about 3 minutes in the empty, awkwardly standing 2 feet away from the employee, watching him shuffle some papers before he finally looked at the warped wheel in my hand and said 'what's wrongs?' I would've gladly brought my wheel somewhere else to be repaired. I'm not bitter. just a little turned off. I was pretty much born in my parents small business, and if there's anything I learned over the 26 years they owned it, acknowledging someone's presence goes a long way. Is it a big deal? Not really. But it bothered me enough to go out of my way to come on here to say this. That's all. read more

These guys are great, There is no two ways about it. After a bad experience with Trek I took my bike here. They took my old bike Super Cycle bike from 2002 (Enterprise) and made it better then new!! I've since dropped tons of cash on customizing the old girl, and I don't regret it one bit. The repair guys in the back are pros, and they won't try to sell you on something you don't need. If you have an old bike that needs a good tune-up. Find somewhere else. The half-assing almost cost me my life. Went to get my bike tuned up a few weeks ago. I knew the lever and cable for my rear brakes needed to be fixed, plus the bottom bracket felt slightly shifty. Other than that I love my old Miele bike, very reliable and sturdy. It's its first winter I am riding it, only when there is no snow or ice obstructing the roads. After the "tune-up", I hopped on it, and noticed instantly that the bottom bracket was doing that left and right shift I was familiar with, so I knew that wasn't looked at. However, 10 min within riding it, the lever that was supposed to be fixed... wasn't. Found that out by taking a spill off my bike when I went to reach for it to slow down before the stop light. If it's not safe for riding, then tell me. If it'll cost more to get new brake cables or anything else that they see may pose a problem in performance, then tell me. But please, don't let me find out this way. I turned back around and walked my bike back to them for another chance at fixing it. Never got a phone call from them that it will be ready (they told me they'd call). So, I found out it was ready several days prior to when I phoned them to check in. Either way, I'm STILL having problems with the braking system. I don't count on it being because of cold weather riding. If they see that I may be running into problems then this needs to be communicated to me. I'm sure they would do a superb job servicing new bikes that they sell in their store. Take note, they are a franchise. I just personally wouldn't recommend bringing an old bike in. On a positive note, the customer service was very pleasant. They installed a permanent basket on the back of my bike during the first tune up, and I love it. read more

I live in Toronto and have been a long time customer of this store and have always had great service that I would describe as friendly and knowledgeable. Recently Ron returned to manage the store as the lead mechanic. A few weeks ago he serviced my Norco road bike and re-taped the handlebars. He did such an amazing job that my bike feels and looks brand new again :). I'll certainly be returning to Cyclepath Norco many times in the years ahead. read more

I took my bike in for a minor adjustment to align the derailleur. They charged me $12.00. They then proceeded to tell me that they adjusted my brakes and my gears too for no additional charge--sounds good doesn't it? But he didn't know what he was doing. The brake was adjusted so the lever needed to be squeezed all the way to the handle bar still without applying full brakes. The gear shifter for the front chain rings was adjusted so that I had to take my hand off of the handlebar to get it fully shifted. I told him that this wasn't right--and folks, it isn't!--and he was arrogant, rude, argued with me, and was unwilling to fix it. The next time I rode my bike it had a catastrophic failure where the pedals would spin around and around like as if I'd pushed in a clutch, something I had never experienced before with my bike. So I went from having a bike that needed a minor adjustment before it went in to the Cyclepath store at 2106 Yonge Street to a bike experiencing a total breakdown afterwards. Not sayin' they did anything per se but it's an awfully HUGE coincidenceI! Now I have to take it somewhere else to get fixed--probably at a significant cost. I'll never, ever, ever go back to the Cyclepath at 2106 Yonge Street. Funny thing is, I was going to buy a new $2500.00 bike from that store early in the new year. Sorry guys, you cooked your own goose. I will be shopping elsewhere. BE WARNED! USE THIS STORE AT YOUR OWN RISK! My only disappointment with this rating is that I can't actually give it ZERO STARS! read more

My wife and I bought our Marin and Norco bikes here back in 2003 (yes, that date is correct). To this day, I call, simply make an appointment 2 or 3 days in the offing, take the bikes in. They smile, tell me when they'll be ready, and call me to confirm on time every single time (about 11 years now). I don't have the bikes adjusted every year, depending on low amounts of riding, but to know that any business tells you that a lifetime adjustment warranty comes with its merch, and honours it without any hint of duplicity is truly special in this day and age. I have been looking for a bike for my Ride to Conquer Cancer for some time now and have gone to multiple stores with no luck given my budget restrictions. The staff at Cycle Path were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and really nice. I enjoyed learning about the various types of bikes and their uses. They helped me find the perfect bike for my needs and budget and then got everything set up properly including the little things like kickstand, bell and water bottle holder. I am thrilled to know that I can also go back there for a lifetime of annual tune ups all included with my purchase. I am grateful to all the staff that helped me and their patience with me. Moreover they did not pressuring me into the purchase, but rather gave me the time I needed to make a decision and accommodated my requests of placing the bike on hold. Knowing that Cycle Path is one of the Ride to Conquer Cancer's official outfitters suggest that they are also a business with a good heart. I learned that at least one of the staff working there will also be partaking in the ride and that really speaks volumes in my mind. This shop has the nicest people ever working in it! Everyone is super friendly and down to earth and no attitude whatsoever. Clovis is an outstanding mechanic. I went in to have my brakes fixed and he told me they were backed up and could I come 5 days from now. I made a sad face and he fixed it right there on the spot in approximately 5 minutes. He is so nice, so chilled out and a super fast worker. I found out that he actually went to school for 7 years to become an engineer and his part time job is making sure airplane wings work properly. My BF went in there to look at bikes and parts, wanting to take advantage of their special promotion. The staff were rude and at best indifferent to his needs. He was eventually passed off to the mechanic who impatiently thrust a catalogue at him and made it clear he had no interest in being of service. I have a Trek bike so I called Trek for a tune up. They said it would take 10 days to 3 weeks, so I called Cyclepath across the street. They said that I could bring my bike in today and they would have it ready this afternoon. The tune up was to cost $60. I just went to pick up the bike and the mechanic, Clovis, told me that he wouldn't charge me $60 because the bike didn't need that much work. I rode away having paid less than 2/3 of what I was expecting to and it only took a couple of hours to get the job done. Thank you Clovis! read more

Haven't shopped at a Cyclepath in a long time and today I was reminded why. A few days ago I went in for a new 8-speed chain. They were out of stock - the salesperson sold me a 9-speed chain and said "this will work fine, just take out one link". Fortunately I couldn't find my chain breaker, and took the chain back to the store to ask them to take the link out for me. It turned out that in the three days since I bought the chain they had received some 8-speed ones, and they exchanged it instead. However, the 8-speed chain is $19.99 and the 9-speed is $34.99. Rather than tell me they were out of what I needed but expected some in a few days, they sold me the wrong thing that was more expensive, and it was only by accident I discovered what happened and was able to fix the rip-off. If making a sale (and an extra few bucks) is more important than giving good advice, there's no way I'm going to buy a bike from these people. read more
