I can't say enough about this CycleBar location. I'm in town from Los Angeles this weekend and really was in need of a good workout. CycleBar has locations in LA and I've been meaning to try it out, so I signed up and showed up at this location expecting to pay a $22 "drop-in" fee, which is pretty standard for cycling classes. I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth as soon as I walked in. The girl at the front desk was lovely and gave me a quick tour around the studio. I was quite pleased and surprised to learn that at CycleBar your first class is free! Zero. Gratis. Yayyy! I'm not sad that I saved $22. The place is sparkly and clean -- very well maintained. And really, they were so hospitable and excited to welcome me. It's so nice when people are kind. :) So here I am, ALREADY happy, and, I was given a free reusable water bottle (CycleBar, I'll be using this in my spin classes moving forward and advertising for ya'll -- great move) and chapstick -- because free things are awesome, you guys! Oh, there's also free fresh fruit and snacks & drinks on Fridays - yay! And ladies -- this is huuuuge -- an entire JAR full of (free, of course) hair ties sits atop the front desk for those times you forget your hair ties (which is like, always. Let's be honest). And OMG I'm kvelling and I haven't even taken the class yet! Oh oh oh! CycleBar has some amazing deals at the moment allowing for about $14 a class (or something along those lines) if you buy a package. SoulCyle in LA is $34 and Flywheel is $30. PER CLASS. It's standard, but ridiculous. And it does add up very quickly. I've digressed. Bikes are great -- newer model Schwinn spin bikes that track you and everyone in the class so you can compare against one another on the leaderboard. Bikes are Shimano clip compatible as well, but shoes are provided at the club if you forget yours. The class was fantastic (5:30 happy hour ride on Fridays) and the instructor, Elias, was great -- he knows what he's doing and teaches proper technique. Music was great; everything was fabulous. My ass was KICKED. Seriously can't wait to come back to this location the next time I'm in town, and I'm totally excited to try CycleBar in LA. Thanks, CycleBar Scottsdale. You rock. read more

Holy dream workout! CycleBar definitely sets the bar high when it comes to spin classes in the Valley! I dropped-in for Holly's class yesterday. A drop-in is $25 {I would buy a package but I don't live close enough to go regularly}. I know this seems pricey for ONE spin class but it is honestly more than just spin; It is inspirational, it is a party. You walk in stressed and leave feeling like a new person! I also love how they're trying to build community and encourage you to chat with your neighbor and make new friends. They provide shoes, water bottles, lemon scented towels, fresh fruit, and more. For the competitive folk, you can see your stats on the board {don't worry, you can be disguised with a fun nickname} and it will push you beyond your limits. OR, you can just cruise and party along at a steady pace, it is up to you! This is why I love spin. Every ride is individual, you can take the instruction or do whatever you feel like. After the class, CycleBar immediately emails you your rank in the class, and all of the stats that you could want to know! The best part, they even send you your instructor's PLAYLIST! Yup, pretty darn cool! They're opening more locations throughout the Valley so be sure to see if there is one near you! I can't wait for the 7th street location to open at The Colony! I'm writing this review as a previous member, and also as someone who helps run a business. Book. Your. First. Ride. It took me a month to build up the courage to book my first one. A month of scrolling through every review, googling and studying the company website, and YouTubing "what to expect from a spin class." I played sports as a child, the gym scared me, and the only group exercise experience I had left me feeling like I would never measure up. That everyone was judging me. I may be bias because Cyclebar McCormick is the only studio I've been to, but let me just say that what happens behind those closed doors is magic. The music is LOUD, room is dark, and the staff is so inviting. The instructors take the time to know you, and walk you through what it means to clip in. Spin is nice because as YouTube told me before riding () you can really take it at your own pace. I remember thinking I KILLED my first ride, and only finishing half the amount of miles & power I can now complete. Progress, and growth that was evident. The class times are diverse, the instructors are unique in music taste, playlists, and ride styles offer flexibility. For example... you can book a performance ride if you want to kill it, or if you're just coming back from vacation or a night out (lol) you can pick a connect ride to not focus so much on the numbers. I can honestly say that although I didn't necessarily make "friends" outside of the studio, I still felt motivated by the familiar faces and strangers sharing that dark room. We were all after the same goal. Leaving better than when you walked in. Jill is my girl and every Tuesday was a joy. ALWAYS a day to look forward to because of her. Marlo kills it always playlist wise, and she is a HUGE hype girl. Jacquie always pushes you hard, but gives you room to take it at your own pace if needed. Elias plays all the Latin bears which is in my opinion, the best way to spin. I also have to shoutout Kelli for being the hip hop queen (moved to DC & still teaching, but worked with a lot of the riders and instructors at McCormick!), AND Chelsea (moved to CO, and is helping support the Cyclebar brand plus teaching!) she is SO passionate about the company. The instructors. The riders. And I understand why. She makes sure every person in her class feels seen and valued. I'm writing this review because if I was looking for a workout class to try, this is the one. Spin may not be for everyone workout wise, but if you're eager to try something new... This studio, this company... may change your life. One piece of advice: DO NOT LET THE BUTT PAIN SCARE YOU. I was told after two weeks it would stop hurting. They were right. Started going here 6 months ago and I love it! Everyone is so friendly and supportive here! I get such a good workout whenever I go, and am able to go a lot because of the wide variety in class times. They're also always hosting fun events and themed rides that make each ride unique! Wonder why they call it CycleBar? Well, you're cycling on a bike and you use a weighted bar in the middle of class. This studio just opened up yesterday and as their opening special, they're offering free classes until Sunday, May 15th (check their website for the schedule and make an account to sign up). Todays 8am class with Jes was pretty tough and I am feeling the burn. She worked us hard and I'm pleased to say I did better this time than my first class on Wednesday. There's a competitive vibe in the room with some of the team challenges, but I think it helps us work harder as a result. Clean, open space with lockers, water, and other amenities and the bathrooms are nice. Everyone who works here is sweet and helpful and can answer your questions. CycleBar is THE PLACE. I am a spin fan and have been to quite a few different places around and CycleBar always comes on top as my favorite. Everything about it just tops out as the best. The music is load and the lights are club like withojt being overwhelming. I've been to other spin classes where I can't even hear the instructor over the music, but this place does the perfect balance the instructors each have their own style but each one is a blast to ride with the energy of this place is so on point. While it is still expensive, it's not too bad as far as spin memberships go. The lockers all have locks on them, the spin shoes are free to rent. Sweat towels are provides, as cold towels after the ride This place has showers, completely with towels, shampoos, hair dryers, everything you could need to get fresh after a class. Favorite part of my day!!! I used to spin at another studio in the valley and I'll never go back. I didn't know what i was missing. CycleBar has been my favorite getaway, especially this year. When gyms were shut down this studio brought their bikes outside every morning so we could continue to come together. I feel totally safe with the bikes 6 feet apart and everyone wearing masks as they enter. Jill is my all time favorite instructor, always playing amazing jams and keeping everyone motivated. Very poor customer service. I was given 3 free rides which I booked all three. On the third class, they said they gave me the free rides by mistake and charged me for the last class. I called the manager to correct the issue and she refused. I have since disputed on my CC. They now have charged me $75 in late frees for the CC reversal by my bank. Don't punish me for your mistake. Spoke to the studio again today and no resolution. Disheartening how they were unwilling to make it right. read more

I've put off this review for so long that I'm just gonna spit it out. Holly's classes give me crazy renewed energy, mental rejuvenation, with the added bonus of inspiring the crap outta me. She makes me feel like I can move mountains. If I lived closer, I'd be standing at her door every day I had available screaming "TAKE MY MONEY". Also, they have really clean bathrooms with showers and towels, along with blowdryers and tampons and throwaway razors... just in case. They give you fresh fruit and filtered water. WOW! That's all I have to say. Very clean studio, friendly staff, easy to find location, locker rooms equipped with; 2 bathroom stalls, 3 showers, towels, hair ties, shaving razors, deodorant, and other toiletries. The studio was also very nice a ton of bikes, earplugs (if needed), and clean towels on the bikes. I took Kristina's class and she was the QUEEN of cycling. It's tough for to give one star as I love the facility, the vibe and Holly Miller is an amazingly talented spin instructor. Where this location fails is their customer service. There is no number to call to even talk to someone. And forget about getting a return phone call. It simply won't happen. A friend invited me along with several other people to take a class and at least 2 other people couldn't get registered. In fact, I was told the owner themselves would call or email me and never did despite my repeated attempts. This place would get five stars if they could clean up their customer service. read more

What brings this place down: 1. Music variety. All danceclub stuff all the time. The n-word. How about some Lady Gaga or anything else that's not techno late night club? 2. Instructors dropping the f-bomb. Some sometimes. At least one all the time. 3. Corporate that doesn't respond to emails. I contacted them about a recent CB facebook ad that said: "I'd tap that." Thought that sounded demeaning. They didn't answer back. You can get a fantastic workout at Cyclebar. The equipment and tech are awesome: big screens, email summaries, rankings. Love that stuff. Dr Fauci....HELP!! Everything was great when I first joined CycleBar back in August. Bikes were moved outside daily to the parking lot, spread apart, music was good and the teachers were very energetic and motivating. A small fan was even placed on each bike due to the heat. In September, when the spin bikes were moved back inside to an enclosed room where masks were basically nonexistent once the music started, I began to get concerned. However, I reasoned that since 25 bikes were spread apart that this would still be doable. Imagine my horror and fear when I walked into a spin class one morning last week to discover 50 bikes now shoved together side by side, masks no where to be seen, and the door quickly closing. Even though I had prepaid for 2 more weeks of spin classes, I bolted out of there quickly. It looked like the makings of an "Covid Super Spreader" to me!! read more

I am in town for a bachelorette party and showed up totally exhausted. I was informed that I booked my class at a different location. The staff here quickly sorted everything out and most importantly their positive energy pumped me up for class. I spin 3-5 times weekly and this was the highest my HR has been in weeks. I really really like CycleBar!! The instructors are so motivating and even though I usually don't care for cardio, I find these classes to push me to my next level. The music and vibe is fun, and inspiring. The program through the 50 minutes has enough variety to never let it get boring. About 35 min into the 50 minute class, you work on upper body strength with a weighted bar (hence, CycleBar) so you really do leave feeling like you got a great full body workout experience. The instructors here are AMAZING. I love how great they are, they lead a class, they motivate us, they make me smile through the burn and I wish I had one on my shoulder coaching me in all steps of life! Holly is my favorite, she just has so much positivity its basically contagious. My biggest concern here is the price. I just wish I could go 1-2x/week, but the rates are so steep. Luckily I'll buy a groupon here or there and most recently got 4 rides for $30 by making a donation to the American Heart Association . There is a good intro price for first riders -- I encouage anyone interested to check it out. If you are looking for a great high energy workout that boosts endorphins and burns away your food endulgences, you won't leave disappointed. read more

CycleBar is a workout party! If you want to sweat like a maniac and work your butt off with a phenomenal payoff of feeling great at the end, CycleBar is for you. Drop in classes are pricey, but they offer a lot of amenities for the price. I love the loud music and inspirational trainers. Beware during COVID. Bikes are not spaced out and face coverings are not required during classes. They are allowing more than 25% occupancy in the studio (30 out of 50 bikes being used). Go to CycleBar for a great workout that will make your legs feel like jelly!!! This is an awesome spin experience- the bikes are in super condition, the music is great, and I love how they turn the lights down so you don't even think about everyone else seeing you sweat like crazy. They also do one track in each class with a weighted bar, so you get a little upper body workout in there, too. You can reserve a bike online or at the front desk, so you can stake out a spot of your own wherever you'd like. They provide shoes (not gross bowling shoes, these are nice and CLEAN), lockers, water bottles and filtered water, and spotless locker rooms. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I have been kind of weirded out by some of the language used by the teachers- I'm sure it hypes most riders up, but I don't love it. But you know you will get a killer workout and have a great time at CycleBar! read more

I was never huge into spin classes, but now that I have found Kristina as an instructor, I love it! She is super motivating and keeps class fun. I come about once a week now to her class through ClassPass. They let you use their shoes and have some snacks, lockers and water for everyone. I've done two classes at CycleBar and I totally understand why people are obsessed. It's a killer workout that caters to my über competitive side. During the workout the coach shows you a stack rank of the class and after class you get a breakdown of how you did and where you ended at in the stack rank. I love being able to track my progress. I'm new to spin classes so I'm not the most coordinated when it came to all the different moves -- including getting on and off the bike -- but everyone there was so great and checked in on me to make sure that I was getting the hang of it. The next day I was really sore especially with from the weighted bar portion of the class. The facility is immaculate and they have fresh fruit and water bottles for each class -- can you say swanky? I also love that while most studios charge a rental fee to use their shoes, CycleBar provides the shoes for you free of charge. I've really enjoyed the coaches I've been to but I'm really excited to check out their Friday 5:30 Happy Hour Class! read more

I've been taking spin classes for well over 20 years and have been to about a dozen studios. This one really stands out. First- it's fun! Great music selections and the music is not too loud. I can hear the instructor clearly and they do a great job of keeping the energy high. The place is very clean, including the bikes. And the fact that the bikes have "true" power meters eliminates the guess work on the effort you're putting in and your results. I also dig the "bar" part of the workout. The staff have been professional and friendly and very helpful. Spin-only studios come and go and I'm hoping these guys last a long while ! read more

I absolutely hate that I have to write this. I work in customer service & i made Yelp to only support and uplift business's that I love. I loved CycleBar McCormick ranch. I loved the staff & classes here. This is not a knock on the instructors or front desk staff. They are so sweet & the workouts here are the best! I have supported cycle bar for quite some time now. I Invested in the unlimited membership right away because I loved it so much. I was hesitant at first because by word of mouth before coming here I've heard from multiple people that there was a lot of problems on the billing front (being over charged/charged for the wrong thing, etc.) but decided to look the other way. After having an unlimited membership for so long I ended up winning a drawing for free unlimited class for a year. I was told by two front desk staff to check my bank statement the first month in case something was wrongly put in their system. No problem the first month, checked, thought I was good. Having multiple cards I then checked later & realized I was charged 5 months after. I then emailed cycle bar & they refunded me 3/5 months. I then emailed/called back & forth with management & was told I would receive the full refund. After not receiving it I reached out again. Someone higher up had told me they had messed up & offered me two more "free" months (which aren't free because I was charged for them). After emailing back & forth the consensus was that they messed up but will still not refund me all of my money. Not only that, I was talked down to & made to feel bad for not being grateful for my "free year".. I then told them I was going to dispute these charges with my bank & I was threatened that if I went to the bank they would boot me from their system & put my account in past due status. First ride is FREE!! That's how I got hooked, after my first class I ended up purchasing a "new rider" package! Clean studio, great instructors and staff, good music, and an overall fun atmosphere. The themed rides are the best, brunch rides with champagne, DJ rides, and throwback hip hop rides! If you've ever wanted to try cycling, Cyclebar is the only way to go. The bikes all have monitors to track your progress, and an arm workout is also incorporated during the 45 minute class! I've taken numerous classes at Cyclebar and each was a great experience. Jill is my favorite instructor, she's great at keeping you motivated all the way through the end. The classes seem to fly by because I'm having so much fun. Fun, upbeat music and you can find their playlists on Spotify. I'd say the classes are doable for a range of abilities from beginner to advanced because you can go at your own pace. After class you receive an email with your class stats, how many cals burned, etc. The facilities are super clean and very accommodating. They provide shoes, water, lockers and bananas . New spin class...Pulled up to plenty of parking and nice spinning boutique! I walked in completely amazed by at the professional looking studio and friendly welcoming of the staff. I was so happy they had self check in and free spinning shoes.. I am avid fan of spin shoes... I was given a tour of the facility and through explanation of how everything works including the lockers. I took breath to take everything in and began to prepare for class... The spin theatre.. AMAZING!!! Candles on the instructor platform..smells amazing in the room and every bike had fresh towel with weight bar. I searched for my bike number and began to clip in and the instructor(Jillian) came over to help! Class was informative and very upbeat. A few times through the class Jillian put our stats on the two huge TV screens.. LOVE IT! After class I gabbed chilled from the water dispenser and banana.. Yes they have fresh fruit available for everyone to grab if you need it. (another plus for this cycle studio) This studio is about 20 minutes away from me...but I will be back for sure probably the next day!
