I've been meaning to write a review for CycleBar Carmel Valley since I first signed up a month and a half ago! The first thing that really stood out to me about this studio was how FRIENDLY everyone was! They are so genuine and down to earth compared to other studios I've tried here in San Diego! I attend classes 2-3x a week and love every class! The music is amazing and the instructors are great. If you're looking for a great cycling experience where you immediately feel like part of the family by the end of the first class, this is it! read more

Very disappointing and poor customer service. I was 2 min late for the class and wouldn't be let in- Its a trial class and I was looking forward to joining, but there was no consideration for allowing a new customer in. The receptionist had no sympathy and was condescending. Would not recommend. read more

I was looking to try a spin class about 6 months back, and started looking around San Diego for the best one. After a few different gyms, it was clear that this was the best one. For starters, CycleBar as a company makes your experience more enjoyable by giving you clip on shoes each class, a dry towel for during your workout, and then greeted at the door after the session with a cold, wet towel. They have lockers and showers that I use before work in the mornings as well. With that being said, I've now tried 4 different CycleBars across the country (since I travel) and the staff and overall experience at this one is by FAR the best! The staff is extremely friendly and genuine, their workouts are tough but always different, and their playlists rock! I feel like I'm always looking up songs that were played during class once I'm back home. Come in and check it out! read more

I am super happy I joined CycleBar! They offer classes for every busy schedule every day! Everyone on the staff is so kind and helpful even if it's your first time. The staff goes over guidelines to help set you up for success. Every class is different, and every Cyclestar adds their own flare. I love this studio! I was a little nervous in my first class because I had tried Soul Cycle in the past and never was able to get the feet and hand coordination for some reason... It was such a different experience at CycleBar! The classes are easy to follow and the instructors are so hands on! They are bubbly and energetic and I always feel so good after. Cyclebar Carmel Valley is a really great studio - and I've been to dozens of different studios across the US. Every instructor is very GOOD, and studio is always clean and it's easy to book a seat! The vibe is awesome. I'd highly recommend. read more

I only started Cyclebar about a month ago, but I fell in love with the environment almost immediately. I was welcomed by a friendly and cheerful front desk staff member who made sure I was prepared for my first class. They have continued to present that same warm demeanor every single time I have returned. The instructors are wonderful and always in a great mood. Music is great and the studio is fantastic. The class schedule is also great, as it generally appeals to people's work and school schedules. I highly recommend taking a class here! read more

I'm a runner and I like to do other exercises such as cycling and hot yoga. I typically go to my go to cycling Studio only because I've been there for 2 years but I did see this pop up in my class pass and definitely wanted to try a new studio just for funsies. So this studio is absolutely fancy AF. They have a lot of amenities such as free water bottle, fancy purified water, snacks for you before your ride and after, and they have staff members who welcome you and help you with any questions you have about the studio and the classes, and lastly the studio itself is freaking amazing. The inside of the cycling studio is very spacious and it's cool because it's set up with a little DJ booth for the music. The bikes are brand new and they're really fancy and it does provide a smoother ride. And what I thought was cool is that they have two large monitors that can provide your stats in the class compared to everyone else although the class I took she only showed it a few times. I understand that not everyone wants to see their stats because it probably can feel discouraging if they feel like they're not doing well, but I kind of wish it was on the entire time only because that motivates me to do harder.. I'm competitive. I definitely would come back to the studio through my class pass but I'm not sure if I would sign up for a full membership- but possibly a class package as I already have a class pass membership. And I'm only knocking one-star off only because I felt the class didn't give a variety of choreography during spin class. read more

Emma, Vivian, Mandie, and Courtney have truly been the most motivating and sweet instructors a girl could ask for. I just started filling in some shifts at the veterinary hospital in the Del Mar Heights plaza, and realized the Cyclebar next door offered 6am rides on Tuesdsays and Thursdays. It is a VERY welcoming studio, they have great customer service, and they were able to 'triage' my current selection of road cycling shoes over the phone to let me know which ones would work on their stationary bikes. The classes are challenging but adaptable to various experience levels. The instructors are energetic and so far the song choices have been fire. They sanitize the equipment after every class and have a cool aloe scented wet towel waiting for you when you finish a ride. Can't complain about that! They also have showers fully stocked with towels and shampoo/ conditioner (in case you forget to bring your own?) and I felt clean and comfortable leaving the studio with plenty of time to spare before my work shift. read more

I have been riding at Cyclebar for about 18 months, and I would recommend this cycling studio to anyone looking to have a good time while getting in an intense workout. It's a great value while providing a boutique- style experience. I appreciate that shoes, towels, lockers, refreshment (bananas, coffee/tea) and showers are provided free of charge. Though I have ridden outdoors for a few years, I have found many benefits from riding at Cyclebar: - accountability and consistency by signing up for classes - bikes are maintained, so I dont have to worry about mechanical issues. - dont have to worry about weather/darkness or safety riding on roads - energetic and professional instructors keep me motivated every day - high-energy playlists keep up the energy through the whole workout (plus you can download them from spotify after class) - the community of riders and staff make for great company each morning - entertaining promotions, challenges, charity rides, and events keep riding fresh and fun read more

I've been a member of CycleBar Carmel Valley for about 2 months now, and I LOVE IT! The staff and instructors are amazing and welcoming. Spin is one of the few workouts I actually enjoy doing, so I went all in on the unlimited membership and it's been well worth it. Clip in shoes are available for you upon your arrival, and after every class you're emailed your "CycleStats" showing calorie burn, max power, RPMs, and miles ridden for each class. It's awesome! The playlists from class are also made available to you in the same email. If you enjoy spin, or just want to try it out, definitely visit. You will feel comfortable and be surrounded by a supportive group. There are often themed rides throughout the month that are a blast (Beyonce themed duo ride, GLOW ride, live DJ ride). The facilities are clean and well stocked (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant spray, tampons, towels). Take advantage of your first free class if you haven't already! read more

This place is AMAZING! Big props to them for adapting to all the changes during COVID so quickly. IN LOVE! My boyfriend and I just started going here and it is so amazing. 100% judgment free zone which is honestly so refreshing. Everyone is always so welcoming and you really get a sense of community here. All the instructors so far have been awesome. Only downfall is that the schedule doesn't have enough options :/ I have a weird work schedule so a lot of times none of the provided times work for me. I still go every time I can though! I really like this Cyclebar. The staffs there are friendly and patient in explaining to a first timer. They have special shoes that match with their bikes so ppl don't need to worry about brining their own. There's also their signature weighted bars in front of their bikes to include during their cycling workout. I had a morning class and the instructor was Kenna, she was energetic and amicable. Overall a nice looking studio with many amenities, however, it cannot makeup for the mediocre class I took. Instructor was unclear throughout class, very little choreography on the bike, beat did not make sense with what the instructor was doing. I really did not like that all riders are shown on the "leader board" and compete against one another, felt somewhat degrading. I have taken classes from many other instructors and a few different studios in San Diego and this place definitely places towards the bottom. read more

I love the instructors, the music, and how the formula is reliable but every class switches it up enough to keep every ride fresh, fun and challenging. I cant say enough good things about this location. First let me nust start by saying the girls that work there go above and beyond . They are the sweetest. Mandi has such fun and entergetic classes with awesome music . I am also very impressed with the owner . I had to freeze my account a couple months ago. I forgot to send an email to them telling them that i needed more time so they charged my card . When I talked to the owner he was so helpful and Nice and made sure that I was given a refund for that month and then explain to me how it worked. Fast forward a month and I came in for my first ride in a while all of the girls gave me such a warm welcome it almost felt like family the fact that they remembered me and I had just started only a couple weeks really meant a lot to me and made me realize why you would go to this location. Just rocked my first class, and it was so awesome! I walked in and my correctly sized shoes were waiting in a cubby that matched my reserved bike number, my name was written on a locker with a welcome message, and when I opened it up, there was a water bottle waiting for me! I was running late and a little frazzled, but everyone was uber helpful and didn't make me feel bad for being late. The instructor Kris was very positive and upbeat, and I loved the positive reinforcements during the class. I've cycled at Rush Cycle before (also awesome), so I at least had somewhat of an idea of what to expect. I'm brand spanking new here in San Diego, and beginning with my first call with Lora at Cyclebar, I've felt completely welcomed here. It's daunting to be in a new city where you know noone, but I've found myself a family at Cyclebar Carmel Valley. Instructors - I've used Classpass, attended various spin classes, and been to many different gyms over the past two years. I have NEVER met so many instructors in one place that really make an effort to get to know you. Ashley is a BLAST in the stadium. I can always expect music that pushes me to my limit, and her energy is just incredible. She really is a beast! Alissa was the first instructor to personally email me to thank me for attending her class, and texted me so many wonderful places to explore in San Diego. Stephanie is super awesome in the studio and even doubled with me on a Saturday AFTER she taught her own class (bad-ass!) Kashmira and Tori will take any song requests that you give them and incorporate them beautifully in their playlists. Carly's such an incredible motivator in the stadium and makes you work twice as hard. Lindsay and Melina were fabulous and I can't wait to check out more of their classes! Staff - I absolutely love the staff here at Cyclebar. They help make sure you're all set up on your bike, chat with you and really get to know you, and for someone like me who's new to San Diego, it made a HUGE difference. It's even better when they get a chance to ride alongside you as Angelica, Morgyn, and Katie have done! Awesome, awesome group of people. Praful, the owner, spends time at Cyclebar and makes a huge effort to get to know you as well! Stadium - They have one stadium with 4 (I think) rows of bikes in a semi-circle. There are ceiling fans to keep you cool through your ride, and it feels like a party in there. I love the set up and I feel like the instructor can reach all of us from her position in the front. The bikes are brand new and more comfortable than the ones I've experienced using at other stadiums. Amenities - Two showers (with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, q-tips, disposable razors), two bathrooms (lotion, dry shampoo, deodorant, and hair spray, hair dryer, and hair accessories), chilled or room temperature water, lockers (which they decorate for your first ride!), free coffee, protein bars, and fruits! They provide towels for you and will have shoes ready for you if you sign up early enough. When you are done with your 45 minute session and exit the stadium, they have eucalyptus towels waiting for you, and trust me, they feel AMAZING after a workout! Rides - They have themed rides such as: Throwback Thursday, Flashback Friday, brunch rides (with mimosas!) every month on Sundays, Happy Hour rides (with beer/wine afterwards), DJ rides where there's an actual DJ spinning next to the instructor. They've been scheduling free performance rides on several days, so it's a free way to experience the stadium. When your ride is completed, they will send you your individualized stats and the playlist that the instructor created. It's great to see how I've improved over the past 2 months coming to Cyclebar Carmel Valley. Riders - I have met some amazing people at Cyclebar! Everyone is different and comes to ride for various reasons, and you really get to know people. This place just had its two year anniversary. The instructors and staff are friendly. Music choices vary but are generally good. They seem to have started doing theme rides which is cool. Some amazing deals with $2 a ride on Tuesday mornings. It's a great workout and way better alternative than SoulCycle. Well worth a try but consider using Class Pass as an alternative to a membership. They also will sell sessions in chunks (10-pack) versus doing a monthly membership Showers here with all amenities (towels, soap, hair dryer, etc) if you want to go before work and head straight after. With two showers and multiple bathrooms they definitely thought through having professionals use the place before work or after work. read more

Took my first class today with Vivian and I have to say this place is AMAZING! Literally one of my favorite fitness studios I've ever been to- they've thought of everything from a cold/room temp water bottle refill option to a cold eucalyptus towel at the end of class. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and supported. This class was killer in all the best ways. Wow! What an amazing first impression. First time trying this studio, and creating an online profile in advance to expedite the waiver process was quick and easy. Website had good information on what to expect, amenities available that included free shoe rental, towels and a water bottle for first timers! There was a vendor area with essential oils discussion, individual lockers, gratis water and snacks, along with shower facilities. When you check in, your assigned bike number corresponds to your shoe shelf and locker. All really well organized and simple. My locker had a welcome message written on it and the staff was all extra attentive to ensure I was set up for a great class. The class was great! Bikes were easy to set up and arm weights consisted of weighted and padded bars. Had a great workout and look forward to coming back. read more

The studio is beautiful and spotless, and the instructors go out of their way to welcome people and make them feel comfortable. You get a great workout while listening to fresh, new music within a supportive community. There are many fun, themed classes, in addition to DJ classes. If you want a quality cycling studio with a staff that works tirelessly to make every class worth your while, this is your place! Everything is very clean and seems brand new. All employees are very friendly and outgoing and they will help you if you need it. I like that they offer classes where they focus on the numbers and also classes where they focus riding to the beat. Great place and they are always offering discounts and promos. read more
