I always have a great experience when I come here! They offer a variety of classes and times so there is definitely something for everyone. They don't have free parking but the meters on the street aren't too expensive, and free if you do a workout class that ends before 8 am! I don't love the 12 hour cancellation policy but it's gotten me to go even when I didn't feel like it because of the fee haha. I was taking advantage of my ClassPass trial and ended up booking a session at Cyclebar on a whim. I went with a Hip-Hop session on a Sunday morning and wasn't 100% what to expect. The first thing I noticed was the exterior of the building. It's beautiful and easy to find. I walked in and was greeted immediately by an employee who asked if it was my first class and if she could help me get set up. She showed me the lockers, how to check my bike number, how to work the shoes, and how to position the bike accordingly. Without this kind of help, I might have been too anxious to enjoy the class or return so I appreciate how proactive the staff was. The class itself was awesome! I personally love being in the dark with loud music - it feels like a safe space and a fun environment to work out in. The instructor was upbeat, funny, and allowed us to push ourselves or work at our own pace. I loved seeing the collective power of the class and working together to increase various stats. The arm bar was also a fun touch! The only thing stopping me from making it a part of my regular routine is the bike seat! The workout had me sore for a couple days (which is how I know it works) but the seat had me like "Wow! This is annoying." Overall, I had a really great experience with Cyclebar. I felt welcomed, the attendees and staff were helpful and encouraging, and it felt like a mini family for attendees who show up regularly. My roommates and I got our friend a cyclebar pass and she let us know that new-comers get one free ride to try it out! She wanted some of us to go to her classes with her, and I figured why not! I love spin, and a free spin class? Cant pass that up! So I got my free class and enrolled with my friend. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was VERY pleasantly surprised! The room is really dark, which I liked because it made spinning less intimidating. The music is also super loud, which I enjoy because it covers the sound of my heavy breathing LOL. Our instructor was awesome and great at keeping us motivated and focused. I think my only issue is that the music was so loud that I struggled to hear her instructions some times!! But most people seemed to catch it so maybe I was just too new. The staff overall were super awesome. They greeted me, helped me figure out my bike, my spin shoes, and essentially walked me through every step of the process (which was soooo helpful). They have handy lockers to store your gear in and everything there is super clean and fancy. I really enjoyed my spin class!! Another stop in my ClassPass adventures! This time, it led me to Cyclebar in Uptown - a spot I've passed countless times but never been inside. Time to change that! I'm a Peloton gal, but I'm itching to get back into in-person classes. This spot is in the heart of Uptown so there's only paid street parking and a paid lot nearby, so that can be tricky. The moment I stepped inside, I was warmly welcomed by the two front desk staff: they got me checked in and showed me around. They got me cycling shoes (I think most people use the studio shoes but you can bring your own!) and a complimentary water bottle for it being my first time. There is a locker area with code locks - no key or lock needed! They also have a few bathrooms and a water filling station. There's not a locker room, so I changed in the restroom. Next, I went into the studio and met the instructor: she chatted with me about my precious cycling experience and told me a bit about the bikes. They're definitely different than Peloton bikes : it's power assist, and the metrics screen is more simplistic. The instructor warned me that Cyclebar is much more out-of-seat work than Peloton and I appreciated the heads up! Each bike is adjustable and has a towel on it for use. The class itself was electric: the lights dim and colored lights come on, the instructor was super high energy with a bangin' playlist and changing lights. I felt like I was at a cycling concert! It was a loooot of out-of-seat work which isn't my fav, but it was a dang good workout. We did a bit of arms at the end with a weight bar on the bike, and everyone was wiped by the end. The staff all came over to chat with me at the end and hear what I thought. They also have a new student discount they offer. I'm not sure the out-of-seat style is for me, but it was an awesome workout with great staff and a clean, cool studio! read more

I have been attending Cyclebar since February, 2023, and I am so glad I did. My friend and I were looking for a weekly class we could attend for some variety in our workouts. I had mentioned cycling and we started our research. We chose Cyclebar in Uptown because of the reviews and benefits of their membership. They include shoes for you to wear so you don't need to spend any money on equipment in order to attend. In Summer 2023, I upped my membership to twice weekly, as I just was having so much fun. I found an instructor I really enjoyed, Sam, who gives of a chaotic good energy and I don't even realize how much time is passed. Sam keeps you included and meets you at your level. I would attend all of his classes if I could. Fall 2023, I decided to purchase my own shoes for a better fit and comfort as I am cycling more and more. They were having a member sale and they are a little more customizable. I am excited to break those in and I see myself upping my membership again in the future. I have been happy and excited with my journey at Cyclebar, and as I increase my engagement, I find it positively impacting my life. It isn't the lowest cost, so I am glad I gave myself time to really learn if I wanted to continue, and I have been able to work it into my budget. read more

Cyclebar is fun! I took advantage of their free intro class to get a feel for the classes before I took a big plunge and signed up for a package. I agree with other yelpers that it would be nice to have smaller packs like a 5 pack rather than the big 10 pack but I plan to make it worth my while and they are flexible. Communication is key. Shoes: I enjoy spinning but I don't own a pair of those spin shoes so it's super nice to have them available for use free of charge at the studio. Personally I think they run small so maybe get one size up if you tend to wear thick socks like me..lol. Food: who doesn't love a workout spot that gives you healthy food options, nature valley bars, apples, oranges, and even wine for the themes rides. They also have a cool filtered water system that has the choice of chilled, room temp or --- water. Seriously, they thought of how to cater to all. Gotta love that. Themed rides: I like the fact that the rides are themed it just adds to the excitement. Instructors: Jean, Megan, Chris Music: Depending on the class you can get to 80's , Hip Hop, reggae, fusion mixes, so there is something for everyone. I do a agree the music can be loud and even though the instructors have mics the volume can overwhelm their voices so you may not always hear them. I always think if you have a mid you don't need to yell but if you're competing with music you may have to. Customer service: Excellent! I genuinely feel taken care of whenever I head to cyclebar. From being pleasantly greeted or assisted when I forget my locker combination or assisted when I clumsily forget how to latch my shoes into the bike there is always some one attending to me! I really appreciate that! Amenities: On point! Cleanliness is next to Godliness and cyclebar has that down. I pay attention to those details and not to repeat the cool offerings in the locker room, I am going to just head to my favorite part. The lovely fully lathered wipes. I think it's excellent that they are right in the studio and people wipe the equipment down after each ride. But more importantly is the quality of the wipes. These things are the real deal, not cheap like the ones that after five to ten seconds the moisture evaporates. These wipes have enough juice that you could wipe down your whole bike, and another if you were so kind. read more

I decided to take advantage of CycleBar's 7 Consecutive Day Free Trial for local residents. I think this is a generous trial for them to offer. I was able to book the trial all through their website, it was very easy to use. I went to a Friday class at 7:00 am. When I first walked in, no one was at the front desk. Since it was my first time, I didn't know what to do but I kind of just followed along to what others were doing. A little later a nice team member did help me grab a correct size for shoes. The studio is pretty large, I think theres at least 50 bikes and it's very dark inside. I reserved Spot #40 which is in the center of the last row. I've done several other cycling classes at gyms but have never been to a cycle studio and am definitely nowhere near a cycle pro. I had trouble getting onto my bike lol so I raised my hand and the instructor Eric K. came over and was super nice in helping me get adjusted. He also welcomed me to my first time and told me what I could expect. The class itself was really fun. It was definitely a good workout. I can see why people are so into cycling, it's a great way to sweat and they say motivational things. I would also describe it as being almost church-y. There was one portion of the class where all the lights turned down even more than they were already turned down and some inspirational music came, it felt like one of those movie moments where you're supposed to start crying??! Just me?? After the class, Eric asked me how I did which was sweet! I swear I meant to go to another class but I was literally sore for 4 days... whoops! There's also the option when signing up to have your "ranking" in the class put on the tv. I said no thanks to that but they also email it to you after your class along with other "CycleStats" like calories burned, RPMs, etc. I would recommend CycleBar to anyone who wants to try cycling for the first time or if you're experienced! Cycling isn't my preferred workout but I would be open to going back to CycleBar! read more

I'm so excited CycleBar came to Uptown! I took a few classes during their free week, and decided to sign up for a ride package. I've currently taken about 10 classes since they opened, and they've all been great (and challenging). The 50-minute classes are led by high-energy instructors to great music, so the time goes by very fast! You can sign up for your bike ahead of time online, borrow shoes from the studio, and your class statistics are sent to you after your ride. There are lockers and also a few showers available for use. Prices for classes are a little steep, but they do some promotional packages that make them a little more reasonable. Currently, they are in the middle of a 10-10-10 challenge, which means you buy 10 classes, go 10 times within 3 weeks, and then you get 10 classes free! If you are new to spinning or CycleBar, they also offer a free 30-minute introduction session (I think currently on Tuesdays and Saturdays?). Overall, in my opinion, CycleBar is a great addition to the neighborhood! I only wish they had midday classes in addition to the morning and evening options. read more

Dropped in for an Usher class while I was in town. Katie was the instructor and was hilarious! She was very encouraging and definitely challenged the class. If you're a local, check the first ride offer! It was mentioned that there's a new location opening in Ridgedale. This was my first time at a CycleBar. I like how there's the small screen in front of you to show you the power meter, RPM, along with how far you've cycled, etc. I also like that instead of free weights, they have these baton like weights which makes it easier to hold while lifting. You also have the choice to use one or two, without having to worry about imbalance. I wish the lockers were more spread apart and there was more benches to sit - I only saw two benches and it made the whole area really crowded and hard for people to get their shoes and jackets back on without bumping into someone else. read more

I have mixed feelings about CycleBar. I think they have a good variety of class times and do okay music. One thing I don't like about this location is the parking situation. You are already paying a ton for the classes then you have to pay for parking when you get there. It just racks up quickly. The other thing that I have noticed after going to multiple classes is the lack of diversity of people. Being a bigger women I feel very out of place during class. The staff and instructors are very friendly but it's just the feel like you aren't their desired target audience. Hello hello! SO, Cyclebar. If you are hesitating to try, try it. Please. It is really, really great. Understand that the pricing for Cyclebar classes run a little high, but there are always deals and different packages to stumble upon! They usually have some type of 'first ride free' deal if you are trying to see if you would like it! My two absolute favorite teachers at this location are Cecile and Chris. Cecile plays more EDM/Pop songs and Chris plays upbeat hip hop! They are both high energy and amazing work outs! Cyclebar is great to throw into your workout plan as a different way to get in cardio/a good leg workout! The staff members are always friendly and they will help with anything you need to get situated. A helpful tip for parking is that they can give you a $2 voucher if you park in the Walkway underground lot! I highly recommend those two teachers here and I promise it will not disappoint! Tonight was my first time at Cyclebar and first spin class in over a year - the experience overall was amazing :) I was greeted by a very friendly girl who made sure to take me around the studio, help me find a locker and walk me over to my bike were there was a handwritten card welcoming me to my first class and a water bottle with my name on it. She took her time adjusting my bike and walking me through the class/asking if I had any questions. The class itself was fantastic - high energy, good music, and had a great instructor, Jean, who was encouraging and fun. I was by no means the top performer in the class and did struggle to keep up at times but made it to the end feeling good about what I did and not ever like I was out of place. After class, there was free wine as a "wine down Wednesday" perk and I was even invited by multiple people (including employees) to come to a little meet up after class (for someone new to the city, that's no small thing). This studio was unlike anywhere I'd ever been before and I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend for all levels. read more

Went to a Friday evening class and had a pretty good experience. They offer wine and beer after Friday's happy hour class! We were welcomed, helped to sign in, and got fitted with free shoes when we first got there. The studio is clean, modern, has free lockers and a couple showers. The class was fun. High quality equipment and studio space. They played good upbeat music, showed a couple music videos and displayed class stats that all helped distract me from the toughness of class. I had a CycleBar membership for a few months and while I enjoyed going, I did not fall in love with it. Some things I liked about Cyclebar were the staff/instructors. They are all so friendly and welcoming and the quality of instruction was pretty consistently high. I think I only went to a few classes here and there that I felt the instructor was off. The studio is always clean and stocked with the necessities (shoes, towels, etc) so you can just show up and don't need to worry about remembering a bunch of accessories. I think the workout is a bit boring after 10-15 classes. Although they do integrate a "bar" component where you can get some upper body workout, this lasts for about one song and then you're done. I would like it if they integrated the bar throughout the class. Another thing that I didn't really appreciate is that their packages expire, so you need to use up your package relatively quickly. Not ideal if you are just looking to spin once a week. read more

When I exercise, I wear all black. It's like I'm going to the funeral for my fat! - Location: Uptown - which means that it comes with parking struggles. $10 parking for a class is pretty pricey. However, they also do parking validation for $2/2 hours if you park in the lot underneath the Walkway apartments. - Environment: It is very cramped inside the studio with bikes right next to each other. The inside is very cool with colorful lights and exciting work-out music. It puts you in the mood for exercising. They have 2 showers and lots of lockers for people who want to use them. We all got free water bottles to use during our ride. - The work out: Jean was a great instructor. She has a lot of energy. She said she has one to two classes a day and it's fun. "It's just like we come in and we play". I love her personality! I also enjoy the score board at the end of the work out to show where you are compared to other people in class. It helps competitive people to push themselves more. Right when the workout ends, they send you an email with your stats, including calories burned, to give you a better idea of how you did. Overall, it was a fun workout. I would recommend it for people who want to try fun class workouts than just going to the gym and work out individually. read more

As a newbie to indoor cycling. I didn't know what to think going in, but I quickly fell in love with the Uptown Cyclebar. Between the great playlists, colorful lighting, and the energetic instructors I was instantly hooked! It's an amazing workout sometimes you forget you are even working out because it's so much fun. As a runner, this is a great cross training workout. I can have the worst day and leave Cyclebar feeling great! The staff and facility are great! Staff members are always friendly and very helpful. Whether you need help getting your bike set up, or opening a locker because you forgot your code, they are rock stars. The facility has several amenities to include; snacks, water, two showers, lockers, water bottles. Room for improvement- Prices are high. They offer several "deals" but they are always for large packages. My request would be to have it so it didn't cost $400+ all at once, in other words smaller "deal" packages. Volume, some of the classes the music is too high and you are not able to hear the instructors. And lastly, show the class rank more often during the classes, its great motivation for those of us with competitive spirits. read more

CycleBar is the BEST. I have been an active person my whole life, but have never had a "thing", so I basically just bounced around between gyms and classes at various studios. That was me before Cyclebar; after taking one CycleBar class I signed up for a 10 pack of classes, and after those were up I signed up for the unlimited membership and now go 2-3+ times per week. I absolutely LOVE it. The instructors (Jean and Eric are my favorites) somehow find the perfect balance between pushing you to do your best and also making you feel like you belong and are "enough." I mention this because, while fitness is important for you physical health, not enough emphasis is put on what is can do for your mental health, and CycleBar nourishes both. If CycleBar did nothing for my body, I'd still go, just because of the way it makes me feel. It is the most welcoming and inclusive studio/gym I've ever been in and absolutely love the atmosphere. thank goodness cyclebar came to Minneapolis! Finally no need to brave the attitude of The Firm, the tight quarters of Surge or schlep out to the west metro. Super convenient location in the heart of Uptown, fantastic classes at times that should work for just about anyone (early birds and late night cyclists alike). Super friendly staff, great music. It's an awesome work out. They've just opened and I have no doubt that this spot is going to be jam packed and I'll need to start making my bike reservations weeks in advance! Love CycleBar! There are tons of fun themed rides and the music is always great. I've taken classes with most of the instructors and they are all encouraging, but they each have their own style, so I'd encourage you try a few different instructors. The facility is amazing (free shoes, lockers, showers, water stations) and is always clean and well-kept.
