I think this chain is really taking over Charlotte! Their instructors are really energetic and passionate about what they do and the music selection is on fire! The more more I go the more comfortable I get with a classes and the entire environment can't wait to come back.

They have 2 showers/bathroom areas and one bathroom to accommodate needs. It's a plus that Its 24 hours to accommodate your schedule. They have plenty of parking in a shared lot. When it comes to the fitness equipment it's not repaired or updated regularly. The TV on the stair master has been out for a year. In addition, some of the ellipticals do not take information like your weight if you desire accurate calorie counts or the levels can not go past a certain point without the machine restarting. They have limited equipment because its smaller. They have one stair master and you frequently have to wait as its a high demand machine during regular hours. There is one upward bike and one row machine, etc. It can get pretty hot. Not sure what is going on with the HVAC, but wish it was cooler on a regular. Typically its well organized and clean. There are three staff as trainers and general staff they appear to be friendly, there is one who is very passive aggressive. Thankful for Ron's help and assistance and Joseph is nice. Notes: There is a gym in Waverly that has a food bar, etc. It has some completion and the price is equivalent to the gym down the street. I have not taken any of the small group classes that they offer and cannot provide feedback on those or working one on one with a trainer. I also have not consumed any beverages or snacks from their honor system.

So, just like the name states, you have 9 rounds to complete in 30 minutes. Each round is 3 minutes and there is a 30 second "active rest" inbetween rounds. Each round combines cardio, core and strength so you are ensured a total body workout. This is somewhat of a "kickboxing fusion" concept so at a few of the rounds you put your boxing gloves on and go to town on a punching bag! It is actually quite refreshing and a great way to release tension after a long day at work! The stations change every day so you are constantly "tricking" your body which is a great way to see results. You will see a variety of moves like jump roping, squats, burpees, planks, roundhouse kicks, various punches, pushups, dips, etc This is a great place for all fitness levels. The trainers challenge you along the way or they can modify if you have any injuries. Everyone is super nice, the music is fun and the workout is awesome!! Give them a try! This is a very affordable way to get a very personalized workout that will meet all fitness goals!

We frequent Lifetime gyms whenever we travel as we like the consistent quality and classes provided by the gym. Overall, this is a very nice building and was on the larger side from the facilities that we are used to. They have both Pickleball and basketball courts. They also have the standard high-quality technogym equipment found in all of their locations. The steam and dry sauna area was on the smaller side from what I'm used to seeing, but they were very clean and well-maintained. The Lifetime café was also very clean and had plenty of space to sit down. Overall, wonderful experience and would definitely visit again in the future

Also this is meant to provide constructive feedback in hopes that management/area director and leadership at Lifetime read this- finally these are constant grievances of mine, others on this feed and I have been a member for more than 3 years. Additionally, I've experienced the brand new top shelf Lifetime in Cary NC...world of difference in service, equipment (of course new) , AND true spa like feel in the men's locker room...down to lockers have 'bumpers' on them so when they are shut they are quiet. 1. NOISE! Men's spa area is so loud I have to wear airbuds to escape the constant yammering of others in the steam and sauna. 2. Tired Equipment and in consistent amenities- I joined for the quality of equipment and mainly access to steam and dry sauna- Equipment is worn out...bikes, cable machines, benches, accessories for gym equipment in general need replacement. Machines sit dormant waiting for repair often...and Steam room is constantly inconsistent and temperatures in dry sauna are below recommended temps. Did I also mention how LOUD it is in the 'Quiet Area.' 3. Towel service is 1 STAR....and unacceptable. Last night and many days/nights the shelves in the locker area are bare with NO TOWELS....I literally had to walk the locker room to find a clean towel to dry off with. 4. Family Friendly. YES! It should be...but now that school/college is on summer break the gym experience is fraught with kids being kids.. from locker room to gym floors...absolute chaos... 5. Showers- The entire shower area is a mess a lot of the time, but especially last night....walk into a shower and someone left towels inside stall....No attendants cleaning up or restocking towels...counters full of water, etc. NOT A PREMIUM EXPERIENCE! I truly enjoy investing in my health and consider Lifetime a splurge in my budget....BUT I continually leave shaking my head at the level of service...quality...and inconsistency....even the 'simple things' from a staff person, like Have a good night...hope you had a nice workout. It would be nice to have persons on the floor assisting 'newbies' with workout tips or offering assistance in using the equipment.

One word: TRANSFORMATIVE! ....Rockbox has done so much for me. I first started with them for a…read moreshort period in 2017 and then I went back in 2021 and have been there ever since. From my highest weight I am over 50 lbs less today because of their workouts and the meal program that they gave me five years ago. I've been at my goal weight for some time but I still use the skeleton of their meal plan with my own tweaks (to make it keto). This gym is not like the Y where people go but sometimes don't really exercise much. Here you do classes - people modify when they need to , myself included - but you always follow along, you don't stand around and blow it off. The members are all sizes - it's a gym for real people. A basic class is 5 minutes of warm up, about 25 minutes of cardio-kickboxing, about 16 minutes of functional/weight/resistance training, about a 2 minute finisher, and about a 3 minute cooldown. ALL the coaches are great so I never worry about which class I'm attending - I just go when I can. They once in a while coordinate group outings at local restaurants - we even had a big group that went hiking at Crowders Mountain once. You can try a free class or two - they will lend you boxing gloves and you have to bring your own wraps or buy them there for $13 - it's because wraps really do provide shock absorption to your hands when you are punching the bag. I once didn't use them when I forgot them and I was surprised at how it felt without them - you definitely need them. You can purchase Unlimited in which you can go as much as you want, or purchase 8 classes/month, or you can buy a block of classes (I think 10 but I'm not sure?) and use them as you wish, or you can pay per class. I do Unlimited and make it a point to go no less than 15 times a month. If you are a Panthers fan, you'll enjoy that the owner - who is also one of the coaches - is Mike Tolbert, a former player. Mike and the other owner, his wife, Shia (also a coach!), could not be any nicer. I am not a person that ever liked to exercise or liked going to the gym - out of all of the places I've tried, this is the best. Just look at some of my numbers that I included (see pic) to show that I am living proof that this place works - as I mentioned, I used to dislike exercising and I weighed 52 lbs more. I am 54 years old (about to be 55). As you get older, the worry is that you lose muscle. My muscle mass number indicates that I have a good amount of lean mass for my size, my skeletal muscle number shows that I am above average in muscle relative to my weight, and my visceral fat number is 5 which is excellent and indicates that I am at low risk for diabetes and heart disease. ....and just in case you are wondering, I don't work there - I'm just a regular member. Bottom line: give it a try!

This gym provides a family-atmosphere style motivation where both trainers and members encourage each other. It is roughly 1/2 boxing and 1/2 crossfit style exercises. This style of exercise matches what evidence shows to be the most effective at getting and keeping in shape. Highly recommended as long as you are a positive person and interested in high-energy work-outs. Orangetheory is a heart-rate based HIIT total-body group workout that combines science, coaching and technology to guarantee maximum results from the inside out. It's all about the SPLAT points and heart rate! Each class and coach is a little different, but they are mainly all centered around a mix of using a treadmill, a rower and body weight. The coaches/trainers here are super friendly and helpful, always there to cheer you on or help make your movement better throughout the workout. Since Covid the class sizes have greatly reduced and I can't say I don't love it. Although a full class always gives you a boost of energy and pumps you up, it's nice to have a little space and not be in top of each other. Plus, all the music choices in every coach's playlist give you all the pump up vibes you need. If you haven't given the OT hype a try, now is your chance and I highly suggest trying it at this location! And if you're already on the OT bandwagon and don't go to this location, give a few of the coaches a try -- they are great! (Justin and TJ are my favs!)

The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and they have a lot of regular members. No egos or competitive spirit here, which I appreciate. There is a large parking lot but it's easy to miss your turn if you're not familiar with the area. There are cubbies to store your stuff and hair ties, Luna bars, and water provided. The intro unlimited membership is $99 per month, which is a great deal and then it goes up to $159 I believe. You also have to let them know in advance if you want to cancel; otherwise, you'll be locked in for another 3 months. Their app is super easy to use, they have clothes and socks for sale, if you need them. My one minor complaint is that there isn't a clock in the room, so I never know if they're done kicking my butt haha.
