I expected a full 30 days of membership, but instead I was cut off 2.5 weeks after the start of the month just as I notified the owner in writing of my intent to cancel. That is neither ethical nor professional, so I would not recommend this studio to anyone! Furthermore, they do not have many classes offered compared to more established studios. Over the Christmas holidays, they were open for only 1 to 3 classes and closed by noon for a full 2 weeks during this period. That isn't good for members that worked through the holidays Plus, no one was offered a discount or free classes for the inconvenience. For this poor treatment, I give them 1 star.

It is located beside Scarborough Town Centre and has the standard amenities such as pool and gym. It is very cramped and is almost always busy. As far as a gym goes, there are definitely better offerings in the city but for those who can't afford a regular gym membership, the YMCA serves a great purpose. Parking is plentiful as you can park at Scarborough Town Centre and walk over. The Scarborough RT line also is close by so transportation is great for this location. The equipment is dated and the facilities could definitely use an upgrade but as far as YMCA's go, it's fine. The downside is the younger kids who like to chill out at the location. For those who take their training seriously, this is a huge negative as this crowd serves as a distraction and obstacle. Additionally the lack of space during peak periods is a huge negative as well. With limited space you'll be trying to do your workout all over the place and will have to jump around frequently. All in all, it's a great gym for those who need a gym for cheap. But if you can afford a gym membership, there are definitely better offerings around.
