We were in this past weekend to return some items. About five minutes after leaving Cycle Gear, my husband starting receiving numerous calls from "unknown caller". And then a text informing us I had left/dropped my driver's license at the shop. OH NO! We turned around immediately and went to retrieve it. Everyone knows what a hassle it is to lose your DL and dealing with DMV. Not to mention I might not have known for days. Thank you Celi for calling so many times and Andy who was the desk when we came back for going above and beyond. read more

I'm usually helped by female staff. Sorry, can't remember their names. But really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. A1 customer service. Just wish there was more parking in the front. Smaller location but a good variety. read more

Bought dirt tires from them with the knowledge they will do a discount for swapping out old tires. We brought in the old tires on the wheels and was told its a 24 hour turnaround. Fast forward we have come in multiple days to see if they are done and they keep saying the person who does them will be in tomorrow. 2 weeks later still not done and we decided to take them and fine somewhere else. Leaving for a dirtbike trip and needed them done. Dont think it will be now so cant go. Employees here have no knowledge. read more

I like ve but my things here. And I liked the clean location. But I never got my time in the mail nor my refund.

We are brand new at motorcycling & VERY excited. In the last 3 weeks my husband and I have bought a Harley, Suzuki, & my very first brand new 2021 Honda. We had NOTHING motorcycle related, nothing. So, I'm online looking at local shops INSTEAD of just Amazon everything. It's hard times for the little guys & we're supporting the community. Between this location and the one in San Diego, we're potentially going to spend a lot of money on gear and 1 other little store & a local shop to do some modifications for us. We're investing in the community :) I've bought my helmet and a few other things so far! A few days ago I bought some more gloves & a ¼ helmet in store, and they had only 1 of those helmet donuts in-store so I buy that & asked the kid behind the counter to order 2 more so I could also pick those up with the 2 helmets on their way. He checked the status of the online order, tells me 1 helmet shipped, nothing else said so I thought we were good. I go in today pick-up the 2 helmets & donuts I ordered and return this ¼ helmet and was told since he wore it I can't return it and the little one points to the sign on the counter (UNDER the purse I sat on it). So, yeah, NEVER SAW THAT CAUSE MY PURSE WAS THERE. No big deal, it's not expensive but whatever because the gal in there before said I had 30-days to return it. WHO keeps a helmet for 30-days without wearing it to try it??? The kid on the right looks up my order & goes to get it and the dude on the left is arrogant and rude. Just like his tone with the helmet conversation, he's NOT explaining TO ME ... he's talking AT ME with a cocky tone. I'm trying to explain WHY I'm asking them for the stinking donuts because I DID ask for them before, and he's NOT listening. The kid comes back with the helmets and then the cocky one STILL isn't listening but I figured out that the original guy DIDN'T order 2 donuts and evidently when I asked him to order them it wasn't done because I didn't 'officially' order them & pay. WTH? He could have said that when I asked but nooooo. I could have just ordered all this stuff on Amazon but I supported the small, local business. Back to these two, the kid puts the helmets on the counter in boxes and they both just turn around and leave me standing there. No, thank you, no showing me the helmets, just NOTHING! So I asked, uhhh am I done? (Nothing to sign, no receipts or paperwork?) One of them said 'yeah, you're done' didn't even bother to turn around. I pick-up the 3 helmets and start to leave and the kid AT LEAST said have a good night. I guess it's going to be 1 less local shop after all because I'll be dammed if I'm going to pay to be treated so rudely again! read more

Cycle Gear - Motorcycle Gear Near Me - Chula Vista, California

Lemme just start off by saying Robin was super nice & helpful !! We found this spot (thanks to yelp) after going to the South Bay Motorsport and finding out it was closed :( bae was on a mission to find a motorcross shirt. God knows why but he loves the styles of them he says they're comfortable and "bad ass". We found this little spot off of broadway & Main St. they have not too much but just the right variety of shirts. Bae found himself trying on a few styles and went with a Fox motorcross shirt. Everyone here was so super helpful && nice. I'm glad we found this store we will probably be coming back here in the future read more

saftey over looks, but with this helmet i got both! loved that i stopped by i got a helmet but it wasn't really doing it for me hurting my ears after 30 min. Eddie was the best very knowledgeable and was eager in helping me. he got on it right away explaining how important it was to choose the right helmet. not only he made me feel lucky and more confident that i will be safe riding now. every helmet is a little different even between the same company so it's best to try it out and let the Professionals take care of it, i hope Cyclegear recognizes eddie! I left knowing that i will be a lifetime customer after one visit. i feel like i can be in this helmet all day he also explained to me how it will break in over time so you won't it a little tight n snug but not too uncomfortable read more

Ordered a Shoei CRW-F2 face shield on May 12th from the Grant Rd. store. They assured me it was in stock. Handed over the cash, waited 5 days nothing. Called and was told it just hadn't shipped out yet. Asked why when I was told 3-5 days shipping? Long story short, looks like they sold the shield and I'm out of luck. Then they will only give an in store credit? Are you kidding me? Spoke with management, was told that's how it works. DO NOT ORDER PARTS FROM HERE! read more

I've had a racing account for a while and been to other locations. But this one in Chula Vista has had the worst customer service. The last 2 times I tried to buy there they won't help , they act like They're too busy, and they're rude. I called today 12/8/20 and a females answered I asked hey before I go in do u have a certain part. She replied with "look I have actual customers here why don't u come in and ask in person." I insisted that I wanted to know before I drove all the way there like any other store, and she replied with "as a matter of fact I'm sorry I can't help right now sorry come in if you want" . . .The first time I went was a man and I had an item number specific to a battery he said "the battery isle is back there u can find it yourself, they are all labeled". read more

We had such a great experience with Andy. We just came from Del Amos Motorsport of Southbay and they were absolutely horrible. Andy was awesome and very helpful. We are definitely going to keep shopping here and highly recommend shopping here. The team is pleasant, knowledgeable and kind. Thank you for making our day. read more

Marc and the other staff has always been more than helpful. We keep returning to this store after repeated bad experiences at the store in Kearny Mesa. They are very knowledgeable and go the extra mile, each and every time. read more

Very helpful here. I've always gone to the one in Kearney and was so excited to see this one pop up. The two times I've been in, the guys have been very attentive. Not pushy and there to talk shop. Was nice to get recommendations with out the push to buy. The selection was everything I needed, but I was let known there are some special order options as well. I'll be going back when I need something else as there is always something I need from here. read more

Bad customer service from employee. Had his friends hangin out behind the counter sitting on it having a conversation when they finally decided to pay attention he started following me around looking over corners like I was there to steal. When I called him out to let me be he asked me to leave. I left but definitely an interesting character. read more

I will say that the staff was helpful but the only issue was that the items weren't in stock and weren't even able to be ordered. I ended up having to purchase them elsewhere online. I'd rather spend my money in the store where I can put my eyes on the merchandise. read more

A ton of selection and if they don't have it they can get it. Employees are super friendly and hopefully, they actually seem happy to work, there unlike too many other places where it's not about the customer service it's about "please don't bother me" read more

So, I come in , and looked around and didn't find what I was looking for, there a few guys that are just shooting the shit and talking, so I walk to the front counter and ask if the have a specific helmet, and very cool chick told me that she didn't think they did but the helmet guys would know, so I guess the helmet guys are to busy shooting the shit to help a customer out . Thanks cycle gear. read more

They have just about everything you would need for your motorcycle, no matter what you ride. The staff is very helpful, and resourceful. Prices are very reasonable, and more on the competitive low side. I will go here before any place else. I dont need anything that says Harley on it. read more

I was invited to visit today cycle gear in Chula Vista by the CD of my motorcycle association GWRRA as I was showing him a battery charger an associate of the store pull it out of my hand as if I was going to steal it , I told him I was not a thief and as a guest I felt very offended to be treated as one I wanted to report this bad attitude so I requested to speak with the manager Then he identified himself to be the manager so if you dont want to be treated this way don't buy here or should I take this as a discrimination act for being MEXICAN I don't thing it matters for them but they just lost a customer read more

Went shopping for a helmet, the staff is extremely helpful and showed nothing but the best service!

Went in to buy a helmet for my daughter and Marc greeted us right away and instantly jumped in to help. Customer service was amazing!! He grabbed different size for my daughter to try on and then helped us get new gloves for her. Seriously the best service I have had. read more

Cycle Gear turned out to be THE place to go for motorcycle accessories and appearance! I am sure everyone spread knows that. I went there thinking that in the store it would probably be too expensive. I planned to pick out my gear and try it on and then get the same exact things online for cheaper. Turns out, gear online is even more expensive than here! I could not find anything cheaper online and needed up buying literally everything I needed for my new bike in this store. Very friendly and helpful staff. read more

I was happy to recently discover a new Cycle Gear in my neighborhood. I went in there last week and found a nice leather tool bag that was on clearance. I ended up there today to have a new tire mounted (which I bought online from cycle gear). To my surprise, they had it mounted and ready to go within a few minutes. The crew today (and last week) was professional, courteous, informative and just all around great. Thanks for the help! read more

Called Before I came in and talked to James; He was super chill and helpful with finding the sizes of both my helmet shields, so when I came in he knew exactly what I needed. He put my shields on for me and out the door I went!. The place is a bit pricey, then you get hit with the tax and you have to pull out that extra 20$, but it's a clean place! read more

I stopped in looking for a few items with a vague idea of what I'd get. Just gloves, a jacket, and a helmet. The staff was far more helpful than what one would expect from a chain store.
