Great food, really good coffee, and great people with easy to access from the highway. I love the community in this place. Today a Sheriff deputy was leaving and said "Bye, Beautiful" and three or four of us all said thanks, you too... As you can see from the photo someone posted of the red pepper in the palm of their hand, they use produce that is cut in house, not some bagged stuff from the Sysco truck. You will be impressed by the food here, they are quick and have much tastier items than chain restaurants for less money. The coffee is worth stopping for, too. They do have a "Coffee club" card to get free coffee, but I don't use it as I appreciate the fact that they support the community. read more

We stopped in last weekend, passing up a dozen Starbucks/Peets to try a small business (per the Bee, it was "Small Business Sunday" )... So, ya gotta remember, this is a mom-n-pop shop. Peerless coffee, which isn't really one of my favorites ... I'm more of a French- or Italian-roast guy, I want to see the oil on the beans. Perfectly good coffee, and the sandwiches are liberally dressed. Good selection of breads with a nice rye pumpernickel mix, and the chicken sandwich has a freshly grilled whole chicken breast, not just cold cut chicken. Veggies are fresh. Service was very friendly and quick. read more

This is my favorite place to eat. The food is great, the staff is friendly and the prices are good. My favorite item to get is the falafel gyro. Holy shit, I could eat this all day. Gus, the owner, makes all the pastries fresh every morning. They know me as a regular and you can tell they care a lot about their business. If you want a sweet treat, get the mint Oreo blast. It is heaven in a plastic cup. I know it's probably a gajillion calories so I don't get it often I also like a little coffee in mine. Everyone here from the staff to the regulars is very inviting. It's a bit divey on the inside but it's homey. You can tell people love this place. It's also a hotspot for the CHP cause their office is right down the street but they just wanna eat their lunch. And of course this neighborhood isn't the best, but it seems like you'll always find hidden gems like these within them. read more

Cyber Java Cafe is AMAZING! Their food is delish, very reasonable in price and the owners (and staff) are exceptionally kind. I'm not good with names, but I think the man that works there everyday is the owner. He's usually the one putting the food together and he is super sweet. They all are. Honestly, regardless of the food... the GREAT customer service and wonderful attitude of these owners is what makes me go back so often. They have sooooo many options too and really hook up their sandwiches and salads. It also helps that a lot of their food is pretty healthy. They are located in a part of town that houses almost nothing but fast food. So I'm sooo glad there is a healthy place nearby to grab a quick bite to eat. Read the reviews online and decided to meet here between appointments. After driving up I thought I had the wrong address the neighborhood was a bit rough across from the Scandina on Madison. I went in and immediately felt at ease. Like I was coming home. The cafe had great smells of food and coffees. Came up ordered a coffee and cake and sat for an hour. Everyone that came in it was like a family. Good hard working for people sneaking in for their lunch break or law enforcement taking a quick break between calls. I will be back often. I keep forgetting about this place. There are many good points. First is that the owners ran a cafe that I frequented as a teenager, so coming here hits the nostalgia button for me. But the food. I was in last weekend and ordered a steak and potatoes breakfast burrito. I was a little worried, as this is an item that doesn't always work out for me when I've ordered it from other places. The potatoes were perfect! There is nothing more disappointing to me than biting into a buritto to find the potatoes half cooked....and it happens to me all the time. These potatoes were done just right. Mash like texture with just a touch of firmness. The steak was also a wonderful surprise. No tough strips with bits of fat hanging off.....that's a huge pet peeve of mine. Oh no, this beef was almost a shredded consistency, and I didn't have to spit a single bite into my napkin after biting into an unexpected chunk of fat. For $4.99 it was a respectable brunch. Service is always friendly and welcoming. They do close at 3:30, but those are posted as summer hours. I'm hoping they will extend the hours as fall arrives since this is an ideal place that is close to my home to go and study. Place is a hole in the wall but their food has good flavor. I had a chicken gyro and although it wasn't the best the flavor was there and the meat was tender. They also do shakes and coffee so if you're ever in the citrus heights area and want a quick good bite I would come here. read more

Can we just talk about how sad I am that I've lived down the street for this place and didn't try it for over two years??? This place is awesome! I came here with a friend who was in town for the holidays. I got the English muffin with cheese, eggs, and bacon (under $3!!) and she got the Greek salad. My meal was super tasty. Her salad was also great (and I'm not a salad lover). The falafel meat on the salad was delicious! They also have a super yummy unsweetened iced tea. My friend wouldn't stop talking about it. This is the way a small business should be run. Try the gyro or any of the pastries, it's all delicious. They will make something off the menu or customize your order for you too if you ask. if you're getting something to go they will take your order over the phone in advance too. Very reasonable prices. A great place to hang out. There's a small amount of outdoor seating, or you can sit at the espresso bar to take in the action.
