Checking out companies to decide where to purchase my HVAC was a chore, but my meeting with Andrew…read moresold me on Klimatology. He was the last "company" I interviewed. Andrew was patient with all my questions and I asked plenty. When I changed my mind about the day to install, he accommodated me with trademark calm and when my bank caused a problem with my payment, he talked me down when I was losing it. The installers who came, Deniz and Abdul, were professional, courteous and very hard workers. My new HVAC has been installed and I can't wait to see if it's as great as these three men. I expect it will be. Based on my experience with them, I highly recommend Klimatology if you need to get a new HVAC.

To replace my old HVAC system, I hired Santa Air to put in a SEER 17 Trane XR17, at a cost of…read more$16,327 (including furnace). The AC part of the installation has now failed 3 times. On May 31, the system quit (blank thermostat). Santa Air does not work weekend, so we were without AC until a tech came on Monday. He said that there was a loose wire that he reconnected and now it worked. On June 18th, same failure. Again, no tech on the weekend so wait until Monday. Tech stated that it was a furnace switch somehow affecting the AC unit, and replaced it. Then Aug 13th, same thing, black thermostat, no power. Luckily this was a Thursday, and the tech came on Friday. He tells me that there was a leveling problem with the drainpipe and the water backed up and hit a kill switch. He admitted this was probably the cause all along, and they had misdiagnosed. At this point, I asked to speak to the owner so that I could complain about 3 breakdowns in three months in the summer. Maggie is the person who answers phones and directs techs. When I asked to speak to the owner, she wouldn't tell me who it was or let me speak to him or her (if you go to the Secretary of State website, you'll find multiple filings. So either John Tran, or Duy Pham, or My Nguyen own it). Alas, at this point my only recourse is to leave a review for others to see what has been happening. I hope the tech is correct this time, but I have no reason to have confidence in that opinion. Clearly, if it breaks again, all I can do is report the company to the NC Board of Plumbing and Heating and to the NC AG for Consumer Protection.

Last year there was an issue with a part that should have been under warranty which cost me $2500 in labor costs. To avoid this I was sold an extended warranty, this year the AC unit stopped working again. The excuse I was given was that the panel is in the sun. The panel has been in the sun since the house was built. Terrible customer service and it seems like they aren't sure what they are doing. I wouldn't recommend. They even went so far as to charge me service fees without my authorization for something they didn't even fix. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

Jose resolved a recurring issue with our furnace that stymied another HVAC company for several…read moreheating seasons. Our former service provider tried repeatedly to identify the cause of the error code that would prevent the furnace from starting. They were fully committed to its resolution at no cost to us. Their efforts would be initially successful but then the furnace would stop running again. This season began like previous ones, furnace ran normally for days until it stopped and then would not run reliably. This year, we had contracted our service with Hay's in hope that they might be able to resolve the problem. On the normal maintenance service call, Jose identified a probable cause of the problem and addressed it. For more than a month, the furnace has run reliably (thankfully) and, for the first time, I have a high degree of confidence that the cause was identified and addressed.
