Pharmacy Review Only:
The male pharmacy manager at this store made an error filling my thyroid medication and then refused to correct it. The doc had specifically indicated DAW on my prescription which means "dispense as written" or in layman' terms "brand name only." When I called to tell him he gave me the generic rather than the brand name Rx, he refused to take it back. At this point, I contacted both the CVS area manager and the next day, a female pharmacist on shift at the same location.
She (female pharmacist)asked if the prescription indicated "DAW?"
I responded that it did and she confirmed it by pulling my script. She immediately filled my prescription correctly and took back the generic that was previously prescribed. What he did is a significant legislative error for a pharmacist. When an Rx reads "DAW," they have to fill it with the drug indicated on the prescription, no exceptions.
When I returned for another prescription a couple of weeks later, the male pharmacist was at the register and said "You got me." When I asked what he meant, he stumbled over his words a bit and said he had gotten my name wrong when looking me up at the time. This was rather odd because he had been calling me by my correct name for the six months prior.
Since that time, this pharmacist has been rude, unprofessional and has refused to fill a prescription I take for a neurological condition a few days early because I was going to California. He actually suggested that I have it filled at a CVS in San Francisco! My doc has been more than helpful and the female pharmacist at the store is very professional. I am leaving CVS due to this man's harassment and have reported him to their corporate pharmacist. Just as a warning to future patrons, be careful with this particular pharmacist as he is arrogant, unprofessional and does not take responsibility for his mistakes.
On a positive note, the female pharmacist is very helpful and most of the store staff are pleasant and courteous. This pharmacist is the reason CVS is losing my business and why I am warning other potential customers to be wary when dealing with him.
