My doctor sent my medication to the pharmacy on the 15th of August, 2022. Because this is my first time getting this medication he sent a 10 day supply to another pharmacy. To give Walgreens enough time to order the medication he prescribed to me. On the 20th I physically went to the pharmacist to inquire about my prescription as well as pick up another. The lady I spoke with informed me that unless I inquired about my medication they don't fill it. Which is weird because I had an antibiotic called in on the 20th and they filled without me Inquiring about the medication, at all. And proceeded to call me and tell me my medication was ready to be picked up. Regardless of this contradictory statement I asked when my other medication that was called in on the 15th would be ready to pick up. The lady who was assisting me grabbed the pharmacist on duty to answer wether or not they had it. The pharmacist told me that she was unable to get the medication in because "there's a problem with the manufacture". I asked what the problem is and if it would be resolved by the time I needed to pick it up. She then told me she needed to look into it and would call me later that day. Fast forward to Monday the 22nd. I call and speak to a African American women. She tells me that "you got a 10 day supply & you can't get this filled until the 24th or 25th REGARDLESS if they have it or not". I'm not trying to get it filled, today. I'm trying to make sure they will have it when I need it so I can properly prepare myself for any inconveniences. So I ask will you have it by the 24th-25th? She says she doesn't know but she will put a note in the system to order it. So what am I supposed to do? The lady on the 20th said there's a "problem with the manufacturer" and this lady is saying regardless wether they have it or not I can't get it right now anyway. "But she will put a note in the system to order it" as if that's reassuring. So I called the store manager who I was told, is Erick. I tell him what she told me. That regardless of anything I can't get it right now until, again the 24th-25th. I explain that I want to give this pharmacy and store my money. He then tells me and I quote
"she didn't say any of that. I was standing right next to her. I heard the entire conversation & she said she would order it"
No. She said "you got a 10 day supply and you
Can't get this filled until the 24th/25th regardless if we have it or not". She proceeded to say she would "put a note in the system to order it". AGAIN this medication was sent on the 15th. I inquired about it on the 20th (giving the pharmacist time to order the medication)! On the 20th your pharmacy told me there's a "problem with the manufacture". So explain to me what good it does to put a note in the system? Wouldn't you say something like "hey let me look and make sure we have that for ya when you need it?". But no. They took zero initiative to resolve the issue at hand. I'm not trying to pick up the medication today. I'm trying to prepare for when I need the medication. And for this manager to essentially tell me "your lying she didn't say that at all, she said she would order it". No lol. No she didn't. I've been coming to this Walgreens for years way before this Erick guy was in charge. But I must say it makes perfect sense as to why the customer service has taken a decline. Look at your reviews. This isn't a fluke. This isn't a one time mishap. Multiple people have to deal with this man's incompetence of doing his job. Which is literally to help people. Isn't your company's trade mark quote "wellness"? Yikes!
I truly hope you have a better experience. Look the pharmaceutical industry helps themselves not the consumer. It's bad enough you have to fight them for the medication YOU need. I can't imagine a diabetic, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patient or someone who truly needs answers on their medication having to deal with this incompetence. My mother has copd and gets medication from this pharmacy. That's terrifying. When employees work harder at getting you off the phone than looking into your concerns, you have a problem. I'm not telling you not to shop here, I'm giving you my honest experience. I truly hope you experience is better than mine. read more
