This store was nice, clean and in a convenient location. It was easy to access and offers plenty of parking. All of the employees that I interacted with were polite and helpful. The women's bathroom was clean. It seems to be a bit smaller in size than some other Supercenters but appeared to be well stocked with the basics and a few additional items. I was able to find some of the food items that I may typically acquire at a Walmart so that's a plus for me. Like most Supercenters, there are a few additional services/businesses available inside, potentially adding to the convenience of shopping here: Subway, Walmart Vision & Glasses, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service and FedEx Office Print & Ship Center. First, all the 1 star reviews are a little off putting. It is the customers who do not know the policies of the company and do not like the response they got from corporate made rules employees follow. In that note I will say I had have great experiences with returns, interactions with staff, and a seamless pick up for groceries. Working retail I understand the return policies and understand people get frustrated if, "products are bad." Remember it's not the retail employees fault following their return/warranty policies. Walmarts are hit or miss, but I do frequent this location when I need something. I did get some fun finds this fall. I really liked their hot cocoa sprinkle toppers that came with different sprinkles, marshmallows, and fun flavors like salted caramel and pumpkin spice. While I am sure other stores might sell them, this is the only spot I found them. I also acquired some great adult size Halloween costumes at relatively low prices. All of the stores used to have adult costumes and not just a small child selection, but now, only the temporary Halloween stores seem to have adult costumes, plus you cannot try them on or return them. Walmart had a good selection and I am sure you could return them if needed. read more

If I could have a negative star I would. Do not order anything online. I bought a Patio furniture set and it was not even close to what was advertised. I returned it and still 30+ days later have not received my refund. Fed Ex states it was delivered back to the store and received over a month ago. They are refusing my refund. I never even put the furniture set together. It was not damaged. Walmart is stating they haven't received it. I have talked to no less than 7 representatives and still just received the run around. I had my worst retail experience ever @ the bottle return. When I arrived there was only 1 machine working. The rest were either full or had error messages needing service. I went to the customer service desk and talked to an associate about the problem. She said the employees were on break but would make some calls. When I walked back out front I saw several associates on break. 20 minutes later I'm still waiting in the bottle return and see several associates walk bye the area an acknowledge the congestion in the bottle return room. But, they just moved on. Most customers were leaving at this point. I now called the main store phone # and explained the situation. Moments later 1 guy showed up and started emptying machines. The area was not clean and garbage bins were overfull and sticky floors. To make things worse the machines would not accept a particular brand of beverage ( POPPI SODA ) that was purchased at this location. I left and went to Kroger's and found that they had a nice bottle return area that was well maintained and clean with updated bottle return machines that were fast and all operating. I will never return to this location. I will give my business to Kroger & Mejier. read more

If you're a pr**k and you come here (and plenty do), then all in all you're just a... nother pr**k in the Wall-mart. Was trying to get in and out of the lot for ages. It took a Whilemart. It was a bit of a nightmare getting in and out of this Walmart and I have to say I would have waited if I'd known, and gone to a different one. So in the future I'll skip White Lake and go to one that isn't quite as annoying and busy - but having said that they did have what I wanted so that's good. But I'll tell you what. The people coming in and out of the store are so angry and aggressive that it really gave me a bad impression of the area. Barbie's view on these stores in general: More like Allmart. You can find all you need here. Blanket? Check. Yarn? Check. Windshield wipers? Check. Bananas? Check. Shampoo? Check. Walmart is an evil corporation, but they do have the best prices on most of the stuff you need. It's great that they're adding more vegetarian and plant-based products. I'm a local business owner! I had an issue with one of the self-serve machines. When I put $20 in the machine, it instantly jammed and when the cashier called for management (via computer) I waited for 10 minutes and ended up paying full price in hopes I would get my $20 returned. I stopped in many times after that, and spoke to many different a managers and staff requesting my $20 returned only assuming that it would take some investigation time. Fast forward three months later I stop in to Walmart and have to deal with Dawn. She told me that she tried to called me twice. When I asked her what phone number she called, I was told that they ripped up the paperwork and could not confirm the number. I was told that the machine was counted and my $20 did not seem to be in the machine. When I calmly needed more facts, Dawn was condescending and even began to laugh. When dealing with customer service, you need to listen to the customers. It's not that I am going to be broken from $20 but it is my $20. Now, not only did Walmart refuse to give me my money back, but when you go to speak to someone in management they seem too busy outside, smoking cigarettes to even care about the customers, listen nor care is someone is upset. I will be finding other resources for my catering needs . It is a shame that all of this could've been avoided with good customer service. read more

The fact that this store does not comply with its warranty agreements is unacceptable. I bought a car battery from this store in 2020, it worked until Feb 2023 which isn't horrible. But there is a 3 year warranty on batteries. I replaced it in Feb. They honored the warranty. The problem now is, the one I got in Feb. Didn't last more than 6 months. I tried to return it today and was denied. They said the warranty is applied to the original purchase so it's more than 3 years. Had to pay full price 159.00. The Walmart store in white Lake Michigan accused me of stealing my groceries even though the cashier gave me my receipt and I have a bank statement proving that they took the money from my account. They made a false police report against me 8 hours after I had left the store. I spoke to the Walmart director Eric bishop who was extremely rude to me and lied to cover up this scam his number is 734-999-8580. I almost lost my job because of this and they did this in front of my children I'm so embarrassed and terrified to go grocery shopping now. I am not a huge fan of Walmart in general since they lower thier prices due to buying almost everything from China where workers are virtually slaves. Comparing this Walmart to other Walmart stores around this country, I would say this store is average. Items are stocked fairly well, checkout time is usually pretty slow. They need to monitor the lanes better to make sure no customer is waiting excessively. Frequently the whole checkout are is clogged where people can not even walk past the lines. The photo department has some rude employees. I has to sign a bunch of papers that said the photos I printed were not copy written by someone else. I was a bit annoyed that just because I take good photos that they must of been done by someone else. read more

Shopping in the time of COVID: Walmart's grocery pick-up service is hands-down the best in my area. If I order early, I can pick up the same day. Kroger and Meijer can't do that. They're organized, efficient and always on-time. The wide variety of products I order are nearly always in stock and the meat and produce are better quality than Kroger or Meijer. When substitutions are necessary, I'm notified by text and allowed to accept or reject them. Kroger and Meijer can't do that either. The lower prices are just the icing on the cake. read more

I come to Walmart for almost every grocery shopping trip I make, as I'm a bit lower class and can get discounts and rewards. I just went in today, and only have Apple Pay due to my debit card being lost at this moment in time. After all my things being scanned and bagged, and realizing they don't in fact take apple pay but are able to pay through the Walmart app, I was off to the side standing next to my cart downloading the app, and an older lady (unfortunately I wasn't able to get her name) comes up to me, takes my cart away from me, and rudely announces she was gonna have to take my cart away from me and pushes it about 3 feet away from me. Embarrassed by the fact she was treating me as if I was going to steal in front of all the employees and other customers, I downloaded the app, let the lady know, where she pushed my cart FOR ME to another register, where I quickly paid and left with my head down. I am extremely disappointed and embarrassed in the judgement this lady had on me, considering I'm just more, as you could say, "poor looking", I can't even imagine how this woman treats others who are either a minority or face financial struggles. read more

Let's face it, for the most part, Wal Mart does have the cheapest prices around.. This is the only reason I go here. I wish I could claim that the store is easy to shop in, but with the renovations going on, everything has been completely rearranged and even the staff can't find things. When getting pics developed the other day, the photo rep directed me to the craft department for a photo album.. hmm, that's weird, but ok.. I trekked to the back of the store to find no albums!! I then asked the nearest employee I could find if they knew, then was advised "If we have them, they's be in the celebration department".. First of all, if we have them?? and second, celebration department?? Maybe the greeters should hand out maps/directories at the front door.. I cannot say I get friendly service either. Many of the employees look disgusted to be there and can't wait to escape, or perhaps they are zombies.. I don't know... I have many a time had to wait until employees were done with their 'personal' conversations before being acknowledged. My bf drinks a certain energy drink that I always have to ask for them to get from the 'back'.. they never have enough of it on the shelf. One time I was simply denied until the store manager happened to walk by and overheard, I must say I was more than impressed and pleased with his attentiveness, if only the others would follow his lead. Clearly, people aren't beating down doors to write a review on WalMart. However, I feel that this location is worthy of a little praise. I am about to state the complete opposite of the previous reviewer. She was hoping they got better once "the remodel" was done. I'm here to say that it clearly has! I found this store on accident. I was in search of something else, but passed this WalMart and decided to go in and pick up a few groceries. I had been to one other location closer to home - this store blew them away. I went from, "I'd never go to WalMart again" to visiting the Highland Rd. location every week for school lunch essentials. If you are ever in need of properly cut deli meat without the eye rolling and sighing that often come from deli workers, stop here and ask for Ruby behind the deli counter. She will cheerfully meet your every deli need, and quickly become a reason for you to revisit each week. The rest of the staff seems friendly and often go out of their way to ask if you need anything. There are a few "I-hate-my-life-and-my-WalMart-job" people here, but they are the minority. The store is clean, organized and they will currently match any other retailer ad or price. Can you beat that? read more

I am not usually a fan of Walmart however the employees that helped me in customer service/pick up and returns were great! They were friendly, helpful and very courteous which unfortunately is not a common thing to come across these days. This isn't the best Walmart I've been in but definitely not the worst! (We will save that for another review) but I do have to say the store could be cleaner, the employees could definitely use a hug or two, I've never seen so many grumpy people working for the same company, and the lines are always crazy long (although I do have to say they seem to be trying to work on that) might be that they now have U-Scans. It's a hit or miss with stocked shelves, sometimes you go in there and get everything you need other times it's like the end of the world is coming and everyone has stocked up. One big positive I will say is that they have a very friendly store manager! read more

They tried to transfer me to the grocery department but both times I was transferred back to customer service. Insanely slow here, only 2 cash register counters open and a long line at both of them. Every time I come here I don't get greeted by the front door, no smile, no wave no nothing. Same thing when I leave this place. The bathrooms are disgusting. Also when I get ciggs or beer they question me like I'm on trial. I'd recommend going to kroger or meijer. read more

I made the mistake of going here on black friday. After vlose to an hour in the store and getting through checkout, I encountered a greeter who could not be stopped from getting her highlighter marks on my receipt. It was literally grabbed from my hand, and when I protested and informed this employee that no, I did not want her searching my things, my night got crazy Seriously, management needs to train their people better. Unlike sams club which is affiliated with walmart, I didnt sign a membership agreement with them giving my consent to a door search. They can ask and i can say no, and then i should get to leave with my things. I get why they ask, as loss costs a lot of money, but I dont get how they cant be remotely trained on the principles of loss prevention if their job duties are going to be part of it. Long story short, facing detention for not cooperating, I let her sign get that streak of yellow on my receipt, and then promptly returned everything and got my money back. It is interesting to read some of the reviews complaining about cheap(China) items and their low quality. What do you expect? Walmart is what it is. I defy you all to go to any store and try to find 'Made in U.S.A.' products. Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace, Walgreens, CVS you name it ...they are all storefronts for products from China. Even brand names that have historically been American are all made in China now. If you can find anything made in the U.S.A. are you honestly willing mto pay the premium in cost? Service for the most part is not great but acceptable. Range and variety of products carried is very good. Convenience is excellent. Price, almost always, is as good or better then you will find elsewhere. Not to mention: You don't have to wait hours to get an oil change...gets done while you shop :-) read more

This store was recently remodeled and a bigger food section was added. While it looks a whole lot nicer than it did, I paid a visit yesterday and noticed the prices were higher than the bigger and better Wal-Mart in Hartland by US-23+M59. From baby food to toiletries . Hell, some items were higher here than they were at my local Meijer (which is annoyingly expensive to me, but I've learned how to shop the sales and stick it to them with double coupons). I guess the White Lake Wal-Mart has to make their money back on the remodel somehow. Selection is a bit more limited here, especially in the wine section. Half an aisle's worth in comparison to a couple of aisles in Hartland. I will travel 6 extra miles in the opposite direction to the other Hartland location to get my super shopping on. Will only shop here on a third string/desperation basis. I certainly don't shop a Wal-Mart to piss more money away than I have. read more
