And, tell those who are arriving within a minute or two of pending shut down, as common courtesy if you plan on not taking them. I watched two people who arrived after me and were waiting for a few minutes. I work in medical field and have worked at a CVS in my early years. Why does the entire pharmacy have to go to lunch at the same time? Why not break it up in shifts like most customer and patient facing places do? I respect and understand workers must have a break. In return be kind and respectful for others time and communicate to those waiting. The pharmacists are very friendly and willing to help or offer advice. Their prices for OTC items like decongestants and antihistamines are WAY cheaper than CVS. They take most (all?) health plans and even have delivery if you can't make it in. The only downside is that they are closed on Sundays and are only open until 6:00 during the week. But for recurring prescriptions they are such a pleasure to deal with compared to the chain stores.

In response to questions "I have no idea!" "I don't know why I work here?" (None of us do). CVS on Columbus Avenue in Boston has a clearly posted "Service Animals Only" policy, yet it is…read moreroutinely ignored. People bring pets into the store all day long, and staff does nothing to enforce their own signage. I have a documented allergy to dogs and rely on posted policies to safely enter public spaces. On dozens of occasions, I have had to leave the store because pets were present. This is not an isolated incident, and staff is fully aware that non service animals are regularly allowed inside. When I called the store to raise the issue, no corrective action was taken. I was given excuses rather than solutions, and the behavior continues unchanged. Posting a policy while refusing to enforce it puts customers with allergies and disabilities at risk. If CVS chooses not to enforce its own rules, the signage should be removed so customers can make informed decisions before entering.
