I was calling to clear up medications for my grandmother, who has dementia, so this wasn't a casual or optional call it was important and time sensitive. The lack of communication, organization, and basic customer service is extremely concerning, especially for a pharmacy handling patient medications. This pharmacy seriously needs a consulting company to come in and restructure their operations. The current system clearly does not work and puts patients and caregivers in an impossible position.

I had to go to Miami for a family issue, and therefore upon my return, I felt that I should get tested since South Florida is such a hotbed of coronavirus. Making an appointment for my test was super easy. I was screened for symptoms, exposures and risk, then I was given a list of testing sites and availability. I arrived 3 minutes early, and there was a car ahead of me, but I was at the pharmacy window and starting the process exactly on time. I stayed in my car the whole time. There was no close contact with the pharmacist. All directions were given via microphone, and I did the test. The test itself was fine. Not comfortable, mind you, but easy enough to self-administer (it involves putting a swab deep into each nostril, rotating the swab a couple times, and leaving it in place for the 15 longest seconds of your day). The test wasn't fun, but the process was fast. I was done with the test and on my way within 6 minutes. The test itself is free right now. I highly recommend getting tested if you have had possible coronavirus exposure and any suspicious symptoms (dry cough, sore throat, fever, upset stomach, loss of sense of smell, new rash). It's easy and fast at CVS, and your risk of exposure to others is very low with their process, unlike going in to most hospitals, clinics and offices.

If the people at Publix headquarters don't improve their areas of shortcomings their share of the pharmacy market will remain wherever it is at this time.
