This pharmacy was incredibly frustrating to deal with. I was placed on hold for an extended period of time while the recording repeatedly said there was only one person ahead of me. During that time, someone would pick up the phone briefly, then immediately put me back on hold over and over again. After 45 minutes, instead of reaching anyone, the recording simply said to call back at a later time and disconnected the call. There wasn't even an option to leave a callback number. I was calling to clear up medications for my grandmother, who has dementia, so this wasn't a casual or optional call it was important and time sensitive. The lack of communication, organization, and basic customer service is extremely concerning, especially for a pharmacy handling patient medications. This pharmacy seriously needs a consulting company to come in and restructure their operations. By far the WORST Walgreens I have ever filled prescriptions at. They are never ready in an appropriate time, they argue about refills that both my provider and the app confirm I have, and do not answer the phone to get anything resolved or figured out. The wait is insane both in the drive thru and going inside. It seems like no person in the chain of this pharmacy is doing their job. Tried to call the pharmacy mad kept being placed on hold and intermittently someone would pick up after it rang a dozen times and place me back on hold. After 27 minutes a recording came on and told me they were too busy and call back later. Seems to be a theme here. Last time I was in there a tech argued with me for 31 minutes about a script only after I said I'll cash pay tells me they don't even have the script in stock. Makes a lot of sense. Now I got the doctor to take the proper steps for the insurance steps and it's still not processed. Days later. While in there I heard someone working tell a coworker that they wish corporate would send scripts to another Walgreens and they are tired of being so busy. This location reduced hours and if it's understaffed, should come in and audit their workload and either increase the hours or expand the staff. A little sensitivity training might help some team members too. Being rude to a customer and wasting their time does nothing to bolster the horrific reviews on here. read more

Although my check-in's don't reflect this , I pop in here 3-4 times a week. I'm amazed at what I find ! I once was looking for an air mattress and they had it !!! Amazing. Stop in after the airport to get a few goodies for the drive. Oddly enough couldn't find my lint roller so that was one of the main things I needed. Found everything else I needed and still couldn't find a lint roller nor someone to ask so I continued to look and then I found a guy by the pharmacy that I asked for help. He was very nice and was very willing to help. He had his mask on properly and he walked me to the location I needed. The lint brushes ranged from $6-$9. I was disappointed by the price but again it is Walgreens not Walmart or dollar tree. This location carries alcohol, mask, mask filters, some snacks and home goods as well. The makeup section had a employee but it seemed like she was busy with something else she was focused on. On a positive note the rest of the employees were very nice. I have to state I did not deal with the pharmacy so I can only speak for the employees and the interaction I had with the employees on the floor. All in all this was a great experience for me. This is one of the worst pharmacies I've ever used. I continue to use it because I live in the neighborhood however, every time you go there after receiving a text message that your prescription is ready for pick up. They say that they don't see a prescription ready for pick up. Then you have to come back in 30 minutes. I'm sure it is not the people who work there it is probably corporate. Very nice and helpful sales associate. Came here for the first time ever to pick up photos and wasn't sure if they'd be able to cut the photos we ordered from them because it was my first experience with them. The sales associate informed me that she did not want to mess up the photos when cutting them so she radioed who I'm assuming to be a manager. He came over and was very rude when letting us know that they were not allowed to cut photos here. I did not have an issue with them not being able to cut the photos, I was only inquiring if they were able to. But his customer service skills are the bottom of the bottom. He was an older gentlemen, on the short side, wore glasses and a light blue Walgreens employee collared shirt. Also wore some dusty white shoes. I cannot even legitimately give this pharmacy one star, but Yelp required me to do so. The employees do not care about their customers or their medication, which is literally their job. Not only are they incompetent, they have no concern that their incompetence has serious repercussions. If you happen to expect simply minimal service, be prepared for employee complaints. Beyond standing around in pajamas, they do not expect to do any other activity while employed by Walgreens. Processing a sale at the cash register is too much to ask, much less actually finding a prescribed medication that has been ordered by a doctor. Do not put your health in the hands of this pharmacy. The pharmacy department has been in slow decline for a couple years now. My prescriptions are rarely filled on time and I always have an issue checking out. I was just on hold for 30 min trying to find out if an urgently needed medication was called in. I'm having an allergic reaction and have been waiting all day. I don't know what has happened at this store, but I've been shopping there for 7 years. about 2 years ago the entire pharmacy staff quit. they were amazing. if you can avoid getting your prescriptions filled here you should. My prescriptions don't get filled or they fill the wrong one, constantly. The current pharmacy staff literally has one person who is helpful. As for the rest of the store staff the turnover rate is incredibly high. Lately the store has been closed when it's supposed to be open and one interaction I had with a clerk lied to me when I confronted him about the store being closed late at night and then open again 5 minutes later. Usually the snack sections have this, and all I found this time were discounts on candy which I never buy. The employees were quite attentive and the store looked kept pretty well which gets an automatic four stars from me. I go to this Walgreen's late at night after 1AM usually after work. Its near my house is so its always a convenient quick stop to get any miscellaneous supplies like paper towels and dog food for my pets. Could do without the high prices on some things, but keep an eye out for the occasional deals scattered about. Customer service is spotty during the daytime. Would have been nice if the pharmacist just verified my husbands post surgery script for pain meds with the surgery center. 2nd pharmacy I went to and explained to the counter tech my issue with "capsules over tablets." The recovery room wanted to speak with the pharmacist and all I got was a no. I understand it's a narcotic and you get yelled all by drug addicts often. Two ids, insurance, surgery center on the phone, two baby's at home with my post surgery husband in pain at 8:00 at night isn't cool. Why the hell do I pay up the ass for insurance and co-pays to get denied 12 pills for narcotics. Lucky a pharmacist actually LOOKED at the script and saw the 12 tab part so my husband didn't have to spend the night in totally agony post surgery. It's not illegal for you to fill a legit rx. Why do people throw so much much shade at this Walgreens? Given the fact that most (italics) pharmacies in south Tampa are total dumps, this location is fantastic. Let's be realistic: yes sometimes there is a wait at the interior pick up or drive-through, however you need to be accountable and go pick up your meds when traffic is light, such as immediately when they open or before they close or at a random time such as 2:20pm. Also, they generally have items in-stock, and they're open 24hrs. The FedEx pick up is also reliable as well if you have a package held via your app. Oh, and speaking of app, download the Walgreens app so you can get everything done before entering the store. It's so easy and the staff here is totally friendly. Regarding Covid, the staff is very responsible and so are the customers from what I've seen. I'm not sure why pharmacies in general believe it's OK to treat their customers poorly, as if they are doing me a favor by providing service but that seems to be how it is. In the absence of a pharmacist who is caring and provides relevant information, a brick and mortar pharmacy does not need to exist. I was here to pick up a prescription two weeks ago and 20 minutes after opening was alerted that the pharmacist had called in sick and they weren't sure when the pharmacy would be open. They were unable to transfer my prescription. I have now showed up to pick up a prescription through the drive-through which has a note on the window stating it is currently down and customers will need to come in. My daughter needed some prescriptions last minute for a 7am surgery. The pharmacy didn't have one of the four ready during our first attempt at 8pm. We were told to return at 10pm and it would be ready. We waited in the drive thru from 10:05 until 10:18 for someone to address us. Then we were told it still wasn't ready, to come back in 30 minutes. Ridiculous. No concern for anyone's time. I about lost it when he told me we couldn't wait in the drive thru line and that we needed to circle around in case someone else came. I am torn writing this review because while the management and staff located inside the main store is great, the pharmacy staff leaves much to be desired. I normally pick my prescriptions at CVS which is less than a mile from me. On this day, however, they were out of my prescription cough medicine and I needed to go to another pharmacy. I went inside and the gentleman working at the pharmacy counter was slow as molasses. He had no sense of urgency whatsoever. I was supposed to receive a text when my prescription was ready and I received it hours later after I had called to find out if it was ready. Not very good timing! However, the retail staff is wonderful. They are very friendly, attentive, and quick to lend a helping hand. I like the people working here, they are pretty good people. My issues with this location have been the choices Walgreens made for them. The remodeling was well past due, the old store was outdated. This new store is more like a barn than a drugstore. Its built like a Megabox store, with all the charm of a warehouse. The items they carry are not much more useful or targeted to a drug store user. A drug store should be part convience store, part health and beauty. We really don't need a huge seasonal isle with Barbie or Monster High knock offs. read more
