This CVS is a friendly and welcoming location. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. I stopped by to purchase a few items and I was able to purchase what I needed. The store was well stocked and many items were on sale. I'll definitely be back, soon. :-) read more

Just a lack luster experience. I went to buy some beauty products and their selection was very minimal, but I digress -- I found what I needed. My gripe though is that they sell STALE food. I purchased some chips and Uncrustables (from the cold section). The bread from the Uncrustable was SOOO hard even after it thawed -- terrible. The chips visibly looked old and chewed like an old expired chip. Lesson learned, don't buy any snacks or food from CVS. read more

Horrible service. I have been coming to this pharmacy for over 10 yrs and for this location it will be the last. From randomly closing on a Sunday at 1pm to system downtimes they have impeded my access to a prescription that had to be taken in a certain day. Additionally when I tried to transfer to another location it was impossible. way this point if they cannot get the appropriate resources to operate it should close. read more

The store itself is okay, but there's never enough employees. If you need something at the register, you have to walk the whole store to find someone. The problem is the PHARMACY. Do NOT come here if you're on a controlled substance. First, they often do not keep enough stock fill your script. Second, there's a male employee who seems to think he's above both the doctors and insurance, as he decides when you can fill your prescription. Even if the doctor and insurance say it's okay to refill at day 28 or 29, if he sees you've picked it up on those days for a few months, he'll decide not to let you pick it up until day 31 - the day AFTER you run out. He did that to me once after declaring I must be abusing my medication. (My doctor requires us to keep a two week supply in case of emergency, so this causes a problem. I didn't feel it was his business, though!!) He also gives you the run around about filling them, eg. saying, "We'll try to fill it," then not filling it until contacted again. He's very arrogant and rude. Most of the other staff are fine, but this guy appears to call all the shots. Also, the pharmacy closing from 1:30-2 is stupid. I got a Covid test in October '22 to travel abroad. I NEVER received the test results. They could not even supply a copy of the results. I don't wish that experience on my worse enemy: being in Japan looking for the results of a Covid test. (A neighbor was sent back to England from Corea recently for that same reason) After a good exchange of emails, they pulled out a law that excuses them of any responsibility for negligence associated with Covid. They refused to refund my money until I suggested a complaint to the office of the State Attorney because the spirit of that law was not to condone slacking or gross negligence like that. Today I paid for a prescription through the application. I sent my wife to pick it up. They said it was not paid. I sent her the confirmation from the credit card by text. They insisted that it was not paid. I called the credit card: "yes it was paid but recently they reimbursed the account". It's obvious what happened: "Ooopss! I told this lady it wasn't paid, I better refund the card" (one of the CVS spacewalkers... Maybe the same one that never sent my nasal swab to their "Minute Clinic"... Now I heard they use Lab Corps)...perhaps more reliable? read more

I going to overseas and asked CVS pharmacist when should i take a PCR Covid test for my travel. pharmacist told me to take on Monday and i took with explanation that i am traveling and need this test result on time. They took my all insurance informatio. Not even test came on time, THERE ARE NO COOPERATION FROM THEM. I took another test. No direct customer service to contact. I went to CVS Pharmacy on May 11, 2012, to pick-up two prescriptions. They were for the same drug, but different strengths. One prescription was for 10 mg and the other was for 25 mg. The CVS worker could not figure out why I was picking up two prescriptions for medicines with the same name. I politely told her that because the manufacturer of the prescription drug does not have a 35 mg pill, therefore, the doctor writes one prescription for 10 mg and the other for 25 mg. She decided that I was somehow trying to pull a fast one even though I have been receiving those prescriptions that way for years; and, she went to what I presume is the inept pharmacy manager, with whom I have had the displeasure of speaking with in the past over another issue about which she was wrong. Apparently the manager of the pharmacy decided that I should only get ONE of the prescription bottles. Guess which one they gave to me? Yes, the 10 mg one, the lowest dose. My question is this: when exactly did A CVS PHARMACIST OR PHARM TECH GO TO MEDICAL SCHOOL, TAKE BOARD EXAMS, AND BEGIN TO PRACTICE MEDICINE, AND WHERE ARE THEIR LICENSES TO DO SO???!!!! Needless to say I will not be using CVS in the future even though I and my family have spent a small fortune for MANY, MANY years now at CVS as loyal customers. Thank you for nothing CVS pharmacy at 8809 New Tampa, especially the inept pharmacy manager. Here's an idea, refrain from practicing medicine pharmacy manager, you idiot. read more

The front of the store is the most welcoming place and I always compliment the staff on their friendliness and willingness to assist if need be. The problem is with the pharmacy itself. One instance of a prescription getting "lost" then having the pharmacist argue with me about dropping it off in the first place. When I told her the person who accepted the physical prescription from me and when, he was terminated. Apparently it was a "popular" medication. Another instance of dropping off a script with 1 week (7 days) for them to fill it. The week went by and I went to pick up my script the night before the surgery I needed it for. I was told it wasn't filled due to "insurance issues". Not once did they call me about any insurance questions or issues. They just neglected to fill it. To finally top it off, they refilled a script without my authorization. I received a voicemail that my script was ready for pickup so I assumed they were on the ball and refilled a script that was due. That's not what happened. They filled a script that I had switched to mail order and had recently received. Therefor my insurance did not cover the refill as it was too soon to fill. Since I had a screaming 6mo old baby in the car, I paid for it and left. Only to find out it was one I didn't need nor did I authorize them to refill it. I spoke with their corporate office last week but it's just been too many issues. That store lost a customer today. read more

Very bad customer service. and lack of culture of respect for patients... It is very sad that patients have to deal with rude and non professional pharmacy members; by the way the bad customer service at the Pharmacy is also extended to the Whole CVS Store. Aetna Insurance bought CVS and looks like that they haven't created a culture of respect for they patients and clients and still do not even have a good infrastructure as a Comprehensive computer System and qualify staff...at least at this location(8809 New Tampa Blvd, Tampa, FL 33647) I gave one star because of the convenient location. read more

I'll attempt to be as positive as I can but the service at the pharmacy including the manager is poor at best. Their lack of customer service sets an all time low in helping me filled my mess about a month ago as several of their staff could not listen to me long enough to understand what I was asking and insisted I had to my call my insurance carrier. Well I made the call, confirmed I had coverage but they still insisted there was nothing they could do. On top of this the pharmacy manager was just as unhelpful and stated I've been doing this for 15 years so I guess that means she didn't have to listen to the consumer. Finally after literally trying to persuade her to pick up the phone and call the insurance carrier herself they told her how to enter my information and confirmed I had coverage. As she was entering in the details she exclaimed to the insurance customer service rep well I've never seen that before. Needless to say I attempted to give them Another chance tibia weekend and they failed. I'm at another pharmacy and they are taking care of it and I will be settled in 15 mins. read more

After going to this location for over 12 years amd stayed loyal to only them, I just left CVS at Bruce B. Downs and cross creek and the two managers in sight (Gustavo and Cesar) started screaming at us, the costumers, because we were asking them not to use their lead blower towards our car because the trash would scratch it... The way we were just treated is something that no one should have to go through... What would you do on my end?... Corporate is not open today, I have to wait till tomorrow.... NEVER going back to that CVS... Especially when one of the managers decided to point the blower towards my parents so they would back away and leave... read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever come across. Patients prescriptions are backed up and wrong prescriptions are filled. Phone wait time is usually over 30 min. Horrible service by the pharmacist herself. Get another pharmacist. read more

Aetna/CVS has some serious issues. My wife drop of 3 prescriptions at this store right after a doctor's appointment around 5 PM. Her doctor wanted her to start all three prescription that day. Two were for testing her blood sugar for diabetes, and the other was for Prednisone. She was told to come back at 8 PM to pick them up. When I came back at 8 PM, the store reported that they didn't have the prescriptions for my wife at their store, and they were at the store at CVS off Commerce Drive. Accordingly, I drove to Commerce Drive, but they didn't have the prescriptions either. After calling my wife, I drove back to this store. Turns out the prescriptions were never put in their computer, but they were closed. I was then given the prescriptions and told to drive to the Wire Grass CVS that was open 24 hours. Once there, I was told that they were 3 days behind in filling prescriptions and they couldn't fill them. Explaining that one of the prescriptions was for diabetic testing supplies, they acquieced and agreed to fill the prescriptions, but I'd have to wait one hour. So, after three hours of driving around and waiting until 11 PM, I got my wife's prescriptions. Ugh! However, what worries me more is the employees at Wire Grass indicated that CVS had cut their staff by 50% and they were working double time to try and cover the work, and that is why they were 3 days behind. Upon further review, it seems that CVS has been cutting staff at all the CVS's in the area, and they are all behind in filling their prescription orders with overworked and tired employees. In my mind, this could lead to CVS mis-filling prescriptions that they have had some history of making this kind of error, which resulted in law suits against the company. It looks like to me that they are headed down the same road again, and possibly the cut back in staff are related to them being bought out by Aetna. This being the case, I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO TO CVS TO FILLED THEIR PRESCRIPTIONS! read more
