The worst, the policy of CVS is to not pick up the phone now so if you have questions or a request you literally have to drive in and talk to someone. The Stratford/Barnum Ave location is the most frustrating pharmacy I've ever been to. I literally transferred my prescriptions to a location that is a 15 min drive because of how inept the Barnum Ave location is. They have no knowledge of what they are filling, they don't know how to ring up the prescriptions correctly. Several times the cost of the prescription was wrong and I had to tell them to correct it. Honestly I can go on and on all day with this review. My advise would be to not use this location and go elsewhere. Oh, one last thing, the staff and especially Manager are rude and disrespectful and overall don't care about the customer or service they are trying to provide. read more

The good: I *love* the staff at the pharmacy! They go above and beyond to help. Especially the woman whose name begins with an M--long dark hair, very kind. The less good: I try to avoid at all costs buying anything at the front of the store. The gentleman who has rung me up twice--Tyler is I think his name--seems to hate his job. It seems he is in pain. I hope he can find some joy elsewhere because honestly his customer service skills leave a lot to be desired and I just don't think retail is a good match for his skill set. read more

I don't usually get my prescriptions at CVS but my insurance changed and Walgreens doesn't take the new one. I came to CVS to get my med transferred over. When I told the pharmacist whose name is Ed this he immediately started shouting at me that he isn't going to call Walgreens because no one is going to pick up. I mean he was gonna off on me for no reason. I was so embarrassed. I need my medication and that's the only reason why I stayed and gave my info. He called Walgreens, got a response and said not a word to me. I had to speak to someone else to learn that the transfer was in progress. I had a prescription sent to this pharmacy. I called the automated service which told me it would be ready for pickup after 7:30pm. I went to the store around 8pm and was told the item wasn't in stock but they would call me back with a store that had it. Considering they closed at 9pm, I did not receive a call back that day, but the next day got an automated call that my medication was being ordered. Without receiving any follow up at all (text, call, email), I checked the app and saw that action was required. When I called the pharmacy, I was connected to a rude technician who told me this medication is OTC so they cannot fill it. I asked why no one had told me this FOUR DAYS AGO especially because it was a pain medication. He angrily sighed and told me he can't help. Aggravating experience and will stick with my home delivery service from now on. read more

regarding my situation today: chad is awful, i have never had someone speak so rude to me when all i needed was to be sure they provided me with the correct brand medication i needed. i literally had to call and have corporate call and handle my issue. on the good note, rachel and maya ( i think maya is her name) are absolutely amazing. i have been speaking with them over the past few days on some concerns with a certain medication (manufacturer) that was not working well for me. they were very understanding and went above and beyond to inform me on how to get the proper brand i needed... and then came chad. i am not sure if chad is having a bad day or just a very judgemental person. he should not have this job. when dealing with people on certain medications you dont know what that person is going through or what their situation is. it costs absolutely nothing to be nice to someone. if i wasnt a strong person, his phone call, would probably have caused me to put myself in a bad situation. shame on you chad!!!! you are in the wrong business and should not be dealing with people at all!!!! especially people that are on certain types of medications. thank you corporate for handling my problem and being sure that the proper medication will be provided to me!!1 read more

Horrible horrible horrible...did I say HORRIBLE...PHONE SERVICE!!!! I've been currently on the phone for 2 hours and no one is picking up. Someone could die by the time these damn people pick up. Someone just picked up and I asked a few questions and I was told hang on and the guy hung up on me. HORRIBLE SERVICE. P.S. I forgot to mention the guy that was waiting on me tried to make me believe that they didn't have what I was trying to get for my Aunt that they were out...but I seen them right on the shelf. And he pretended to look. Sooooooo ...wrong!!!! Then he wouldn't run it through my Aunt's insurance...and was going to charge me $107. If my Aunt is in the computer I don't understand why they just can't run it through her insurance....another very wrong thing done. I was told the prescription couldn't be transferred cause the pharmacy that it was at was closed and they couldn't transfer it. I'm sure it could have been done...this is the computer age. Filling my medications is a 1 hour process minimum. No matter if you call and plan ahead, "they will always say come back in 30". I asked the head of the pharmacy if I could get Narcan (as per the sign they advertise for Narcan and opiate awareness). I was told nobody in the pharmacy could fill the Narcan prescription and to just find a different CVS. That genuinely bothered me because Narcan is a life saving medication and it's always good to own some in case you witness or come across an overdose. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Highly disappointed in the pharmacy staff. They are extremely unprofessional and rude. My son is 6 months old has congenital heart disease and needs specific medication. We transferred the medication to this CVS branch and have had nothing, but issues. The first day, we called and they said it would be ready in a few hours. We headed over and it wasn't there. The staff had a little bit of an attitude, but I disregarded it. They told me that it had to be ordered. Day 2, I tried to call ahead to see if was available before I headed down there. I spent a total of two hours on the phone. No one answered the phone. I eventually headed down there again, I spoke to someone else who told me that there was some kind of special order that needed to take place. I told him no problem and told him I would return in a half an hour. When I came back, I was assured that the medication would be ready the next morning. On Day 3, I tried calling to check ahead, but again the phone just kept ringing. A few hours later, I received an automated call that said they would need to call my doctor. I again tried to call them, but again no answer. I once again headed down there. Once I got to the desk, Jeanine shouted to everyone in line that they would be closing the pharmacy, since the pharmacist had to leave. I asked her if she could just check if my sons medication was there because if it wasnt, I would need to make other arrangements since he was running low. She told me " No. I'm not going to do that. The pharmacist needs to go home". Then shouted the same thing to another employee. I tried to explain the situation to her nicely and again, explain to her that I just wanted to check if it was there and that I could come later when the other pharmacist arrived and she showed zero empathy and flat out refused. I asked for a manager. The worst part of the experience was that as I was explaining my situation to the CVS store manager, Jeanine thought it was appropriate to interject and "clarify" as we were talking. I found this very ride and unprofessional. When working at a pharmacy, you have to have empathy. People that come to pharmacies , usually don't want to be there. Either they are sick or their loved one might be. It is important to be pleasant, professional and take ownership of the situation. If you can't do those things, you should not be in a people facing job. So in summary, I had horrible customer service experience and my son still doesn't have his heart medication. Avoid this CVS pharmacy at all costs. read more

I walked in here with one purpose in mind...to grab some dryer sheets and cash back for the laundromat across the street. I stood up front spinning my pack of dryer sheets around and around for about 5 minutes because there were no employees anywhere... I usually have good experiences here but its unacceptable to not have someone at the front end. I ended up chucking the sheets on the counter and going up the street to Walgreens. read more

I am so fed up with this CVS at 1 Hawley Lane in Stratford. I take many medications and I request no child proof caps and all my meds should be put into regular pharmacy bottles not manufactures bottles. This info is in the computer. When I pick up the prescriptions most of the time the packaging is incorrect. I then have to go to the other counter to have it corrected. Sometimes my husband goes to the drive thru and brings the meds home. Many times they are incorrect and he has to go back. I have spoken to the Head Pharmasist on numerous occasions and was told they don't look at the computer most of the time! I know this is a small issue, not like getting the wrong meds but this is an issue for me. read more

Drive thru Pharmacy was such a breeze. It was the first time I've ever tried it. I just didn't feel like getting put the car honestly.

Actually ZERO stars. Managers at both Barnum Avenue and Hawley Lane stores are useless amateurs. No concept of customer service. The pharmacy department at the Barnum Avenue store is the most rude and despicable pharmacy I've ever experienced. One manager, Ruchi Khanna, got angry because I dared to ask if they could help the Pickup line which had grown extremely long and people grumbling while the pharmacists just walked around uncaring. After a back and forth as she got increasingly rude and defensive, I said "If you are in fact the manager, you should show more concern for your customers. We've been waiting in line forever." At this point, this nasty woman called the police on me to remove me from the store. The store managers are all women, as is the pharmacy, and all they do is back each other up instead of firing a terrible employee as they should. Oh yeah, BTW, the pharmacy is not under control of the store whatsoever. The pharmacists in CVS are apparently a rogue, terribly-managed organization separate from CVS corporate and not accountable to anyone, as I was eventually told. CVS should worry how their rude women pharmacists (yes, it's only their women that act out at these locations) are damaging their brand. I've taken all my business to Walgreens, right down the street. Much nicer people, and they actually hire one or two men there. read more

I purchased 3 $100 Amazon.com gift cards from CVS located at 1 Hawley Lane Stratford, CT. When I tried to redeem them, they were "invalid." I HAVE THE RECEIPT. Amazon shifts blame to CVS and will not refund. CVS shifts blame to Amazon and will not refund. You would think that the management would be concerned and would speak to Amazon on my behalf since the invalid card was purchased in their store. NO! The manager did not care whatsoever and did not help me one bit. This issue has not been resolved after sitting on hold for hours for both companies corporate offices. I have yet to get a call back from anyone that has the power to help my situation. If I could give this store a "0" I would. I always find what I'm looking for in this store. Although the store is clean -- I'm forever checking out aisles in stores, searching for cleanliness, neatness, etc. before I fork over my hard earned bucks -- it's getting a bit tight. Lately, I feel as if I'm in a labyrinth. Aisles appear to be moving, displays are moved or restocked with items that weren't there a week ago. Geez! Yet, I keep returning. read more
