Want to give a big shout out to Tatyana & Marissa in the Pharmacy and to Patti on the front end.....so helpful, I left feeling like I was a really special customer.....everyone mentioned went over and above the call to duty to help me today. I have never had a negative experience shopping at this store in Southport, NC. I recently moved from Oahu and found this CVS to even more helpful then on Oahu. Pharmacist Dave confirmed that I was picking up a specific manufacturer so had a family member go pick it up. It was not that manufacturer and when it comes to drugs, I don't like switching manufactures every couple months. When I expressed this to pharmacist, he could not help. It is very sad how he takes this as a job when in the end these drugs are changing our bodies! I'm going to call my insurance to see if something can be done, but looks like I have to pay out of pocket for the correct type. A lesson that a lot of health care providers don't take their "jobs" seriously. Pharmacists are dealing with drugs that change the course of our lives, and this particular one doesn't seem to care. He didn't even go into explaining why this drug could be the same or wouldn't affect my body. Switching pharmacies pronto, and if I were you, go down to the Walmart instead. read more

I prepaid for my prescription online. I got to the window and the girl was freaking out about opening the window to scan my phone. She said the scan didn't work. Then she said I hadn't pre-paid. They want me to pay again for my meds. I'm currently on the phone with corporate in their parking lot so I can get my medication. Why does the alp not work with the store? read more

I will never darken the doors of this place - or any CVS - again. After an emergency dental appointment I rushed to get my prescriptions filled. I needed to jump-start antibiotics prior to my root canal tomorrow and was desperate for my pain meds. I was told cooly by the pharmacist that they were short staffed and nothing would be ready until tomorrow (and this was before noon.) I took my scripts down the street to Walgreens where they were quickly filled. So ends my 20+ years as a CVS customer. read more

This CVS Is by far the best! They are quick and efficient. Some of the other reviews make it seem terrible...it is not! The employees really care about the customers. I have seen them assist people with getting coupons to help lower the cost of their medication and work during hurricanes to make sure people can get what they need. It's ALWAYS busy in there but the lines move quickly and efficiently. read more

This pharmacy is the worst. Davis (pharmacist) was rude and uncaring not allowing my wife to get meds unless we paid twice. She had prepaid with documentation on their app as well as an email. While it didn't show up on their system, his curt, rude response was for us to call Corporate, it was not his problem. We ultimately did. I would give this pharmacy NO STARS if I could. I have waited on the phone for almost an hour before I finally hung up and have spoken with others who have suffered the same fate. I have stood in line longer than I can even tell you. No wonder it is the only CVS in the area. I am moving all my family's prescriptions to Walgreens and will not be back to this store for ANYTHING. I wish I could give it no stars .... If you ever hope to talk to them on the phone forget it. They will answer it after 5 min and have you hold for another 10 then either not come back or not be able to answer you question at the moment and you have to hold yet again. When you get there you will either stand in line for 20 - 30 min and then they either haven't filled your prescription or forgot to. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to,they need to fire everyone that works there and close this location. My wife was having trouble breathing and needed her emergency inhaler refilled so her doctor called it in for her we called to confirm it was ready and they said it was so we got there approximately 20 minutes later and they had closed the pharmacy early but they were still there but would not even look at us so I finally found someone and explained that we needed her prescription so she could breathe and he said he would go check with the people in the pharmacy but he never talked to anyone, 5 or six people came out of the pharmacy and I stopped them and told them that it was a emergency situation that my wife couldn't breathe and needed her inhaler they said there was nothing they could do and walked out and left us standing there. They didn't care if my wife lived or died! Corporate needs to know how these people treat customers!! I had to call another cvs and have her prescription transferred to that location which was 35 minutes away while my wife was struggling to breathe. read more

Incredibly rude pharmaceutical staff (would like to name the individual but I suspect it would get edited out). Don't bother with any unnecessary pleasantries at the pickup counter such as .."Hello". Just be prepared when curtly barked at for your "Last Name"?, "First Name"?, "Date of Birth"?. Not looking for a bonding experience of course simply picking up a prescription but I've had drill sergeants in the army who were more polite. "Thank you", "Have a nice day" etc. can go a long way in the service business. Heading to Walgreens or Walmart for future prescriptions! read more

The absolute worst pharmacy experience of my life. Can not coordinate multiple prescriptions so I have to go back multiple times. Never can find my prescription. Long lines that are so bad people either complain to each other about going to Walmart or Walgreens instead or just storm off to try again another day. No one at the consultation area; computers that shutdown, I could go on and on. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else before starting with this CVS. This is without a doubt the worst pharmacy I've been to. They always have long lines with only one person working the prescription pick up. Then when you get to the front after waiting 39 minutes they tell you they can't find your prescription. After checking their computers they find your prescription but oops, they forgot to fill it! This is despite the fact I got three phone calls saying it was ready. This CVS needs to get new management. read more

The other one star reviews say it all. Long lines poor service and poor management. After waiting in line for 30 minutes to pick up a prescription ordered several days earlier, it had not been filled. I was told that they were three days behind. Try the Walgreens across the street. read more

My call to the pharmacy was placed on-hold for approximately 15 minutes (no explanation or apology provided). When I was finally able to talk to the Pharmacist, he was very rude and appeared to be very uninterested in assisting me with my issue. Not only is filling a prescription here agonizing, but I just heard a pharmacy technician tell a customer he did not even need the prescription the doctor had prescribed and that it is "bad for you". As a prescriber, I know this is patently untrue! My advice?! Don't take medical advice from uneducated pharmacy clerks... better yet, avoid this place! read more

I agree with the others...this is the WORST possible pharmacy there is. it is convenient to lowe's grocery so you can do a month's worth of shopping while you wait for the prescription you were called to say is ready (but isn't). I'm going to transfer all my prescriptions to Galloway-Sands or one of the 2 walgreens. I was on hold for 45 mins (while being told my call was important) to find out if my prescription (called in 48 hours prior) was ready. no one ever answered. so, I have to wait another 24 hours to call and wait on hold tomorrow. good thing this isn't a life-threatening illness. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever done business with and frankly, it is just this one CVS. All the others I have gone to over the years, Greensboro, Wilmington, Leland, and more, have not been a problem. Just this one! It is listed on Long Beach Road but they just moved around the corner (a few days ago) and are now on Southport-Supply Rd. New building but the same sorry staff! Because of my insurance I m forced to use CVS or pay extra. This is the closest CVS to me and I have been using it now for many years. Just like all the other reviews (have you noticed for years and to date not one good review) you can only count on long lines, no help, partial or not ready on time prescriptions and at times, they don't have the med at all! Today I had to make my second trip to this dud of a place because they did not have the prescription ready, as they had promised, yesterday! There are several other drug stores in the area and if you check, none of them have the terrible marks this one does. If you have the option, do yourself a favor and don't even pull into this parking lot. read more

I was a little leery after reading past reviews. We are new to Southport and our insurance sends us to CVS for RX. I found the pharmacy to be great to work with. The young man behind the check out counter was very pleasant and helpful with locating items in the store. I was very pleased! read more

Pharmacy staff was not at all helpful. Unwilling to make a phone call to verify insurance. I ended up paying almost 200.00 for a ten dollar drug. I think even the cashier was embarrassed by the lack of customer service and total unwillingness to help. Will never have a prescription filled here again. read more

I've been to this CVS three times now and gotten nothing but great service. Initially, I was apprehensive because of the bad reviews, but my prescription was at another CVS in a different state, so I didn't have much choice, I was very pleasantly surprised. I called to make sure my order was ready (very minimal phone wait time), went straight to the pick up window after work, picked up and paid for prescription and left. I think the whole transaction took less than five minutes. Maybe I'm just lucky but I've only had a short wait one time when there was another customer ahead of me and then another staff member came up and opened a second register. The staff has always been very courteous and professional and when I get a new prescription I'll use this CVS. read more
