Meh! It's ok here, but the Leland location is much better. They do not have as many food products as the other store. It doesn't have a vision center either. It's a bit closer for me so it will do in a pinch. I'd rather make the extra drive though. Employees are friendly. read more

I went to this Walmart two days ago to get a tyre changed. I've had it done there before without incident. My car, like many, has a lug nut 'key' to prevent theft. I worked for Walmart for 21 years so I am well aware of some of the many shortcomings with staff and service. Therefore I checked the lug nuts for tightness after the job was done. I found that my lug nut key would not go on one of the nuts. I returned to the woman who seemed to be in charged and told her of the issue. Shen accompanied me to my car and she couldn't get it on either. To my astonishment she gave me the most stupidly inconceivable story. She said that my car had a special locking nut that has a stripe on it and that when that nut is loosened it magically unlocks all the other nuts and I would thereafter be able to fit my lug nut key on thanks to this wizardry. I spoke with my mechanic this morning and he managed to hammer the key on, after which I removed the nut and filed off all the burred edges caused by the improper tightening of the nut. Had I not done this I would not have been able to remove the wheel in the event of a puncture and left stranded. She didnt have to invent a story. she should have had the mechanic fix the issue. read more

Boy did I have a blast at Walmart today, lots of old men that were very kind stocking the shelves. There were less than 7 crackheads so I'd say that is a victory! You know how the prices are these days but Walmart lives by the "Everyday Low Price" even in a this rambunctious economy. Chatted it up with a kind old man who provided great service. Anime book selection was mid. In my professional opinion this is an above average Walmart. read more

Order delivery. Missed 5 items, tried to call store no one answered both departments

EVER AGAIN will I bring anything to these "mechanics" and I use that term very loosely. Brought my car in with a set of 4 aftermarket wheels and tires to be mounted, balanced and installed. Firstly I was quoted one price on Thursday with "extras" of road hazard because I am a Walmart plus member FREE. Now it's Saturday and the price has jumped 60 more dollars and I do not have road hazard. So now back to the wannabe mechanics that work there. Simple instructions, take the wheels that are on my jeep off and put them in the back of the car, do not take the tire off the rims. Also I told them because of the shape of the aftermarket lug nuts that they can not use an air gun. Well 1.5 hours later and I have 4 rims and 4 tires ( not mounted) and the only thing these people did right was no air tools on the lugs. I brought this up to the manager, and then they spoke with the "mechanic" and majorly they want me to pay 10 dollars PER TIRE to remount them because " they had to take the tire off for the TPMS." With that being the case and my oral instructions to not separate the tire and rim why did the "mechanic " come and explain this to me? I would have told them that the TPMS in the original tires DO NOT WORK so I did not want them in my new tires. Well that did not happen of course. So please heed this warning and take your car to people and places that can understand directions and can communicate to a customer about issues. You will pay less in the long run in time/headache ANYPLACE else. read more

A not so good walmart, extremely dirty (like most walmarts I assume), and barely anyone willing to help. The few I got to help didn't know where anything is (then proceeded to tell me to ask someone else) and I could barely find anything in the sections I feel like they're supposed to be. The entire place seemed overwhelmingly understocked. I would recommend going to a different Walmart/store that's better stocked and better staffed. If you could care less about this then it's still walmart and will get the job done. read more

The people I deal with are pleasant and talk to me when I say 'hello' at the self-checkout, which is very nice. They help and are patient. I purchase a limited amount of healthy foods here and the quality seems very good. I purchase raw spinach, bananas, King Arthur Whole Wheat Flour, yeast, Walmart brand coffee, gum, oats, tomato sauce, store brand, which is my spaghetti sauce, and whole wheat pasta, store brand. I purchase other items such as clothing: shirts, pants, jeans, other things. I have ordered items from the website and had them delivered: the store service for that is very good. I haven't had to deal with returns (luckily) and it's been 8 months so I figure that's a good sign in and of itself. In summary, I think you will see some decent quality fresh fruits in there. I don't purchase meats or dairy. read more

We ordered a new battery online, picked it up at Southport Walmart. We took in the old one which had 16 months left on the warranty. Because it was a 5 year battery and they no longer sell them, they could not figure out how to determine our refund. I will say they tried, but we ended up getting only the core charge back, no prorated warranty. They insisted we did not pay a core charge on the new one, but we did: $12, which is what they refunded. Tried to talk to corporate and they say it is at the discretion of the store management. When did warranties become discretionary? I thought they were absolute. It is very simple. The battery died 16 months before the warranty would expire. Don't see the problem. read more

service center first time getting oil change here and will be the last! was told previous day to just pull up and wait in line. i did just that only to be told i was supposed to check in first. no signs or instructions at entrance informing customer of procedure! i waited 30 minutes and was next in line only to be told i was not next. the service person carl and the girl technician argued with me. poor customer service. never argue with a paying customer!! david the young service inside manager was more than accommodating and pleasant. only came here because my local southport car man was on vacation read more

Was on vacation and bought my son two books not realizing when I got back to the house he had read them already. I went to return the books and the women at customer service told me that you can't return books it's a policy. I told her there were no signs that stated this and my son hadn't even opened them up to read them. She said that I could have "copied" the pages from the book. What????????????????? Can't make this stuff up. read more

They sell body pillows but no covers for them. No polo cologne. No itchy cream. And the longest line/wait ever. All in all a horrid shopping experience. read more

This is the WORST WALMART I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE! When we needed an attendant I waved her over 5 times and every time she rolled her eyes, so when we Finally went over to ask, so we asked if they had twenty of the plates we wanted, and she rudely said " that's not my problem, you have to ask the sales manager" and she said the sales manager was in the next aisle, so we went there and he wasn't there, and then the attendant who not really helped us pointed at us and burst out laughing! So we didn't get them, so we used self checkout, we started checking out, and needed help with fruit, so another attendant came over and said we had to weigh it, so I tried to and asked if she could tell me how, instead of telling me she came over and pushed me out of her way and did, so after that for the rest of that time I had some old woman telling me how to scan an item which I already knew! So after that when we left I said " this is definitely going on yelp!" And she rolled her eyes and gave me a dirty look! So all I can say if DONT GO TO THIS WALMART!!!! read more

i did not think it was possible. yes they got a 1 Star. even talked to a manager about all the empty shelves. there is no reason why a walmart has empty shelves, and what product is there to sell, is hardly any at all. the people were nice. but they need to hire more people and get assistant managers to stock this store. there are tons of people moving down and living in the southport area. this place would be hopping if they had merchandise to sell. walmart is really hurting themselves by not investing in the employees and customers. read more

This is one of the better Walmarts I've been to. While they are often out of stock on certain items I'm sure that has more to do with JIT manufacturing and ordering. The employees are all very nice. I mostly use just the pharmacy. read more

Several of the clerks are really wonderful and helpful people, but they could certainly use some better managing as they are consistly out of stock on almost everything. The one in Leland is better. read more
