They kept me on hold for a long time and then told me I've never been prescribed that medicine before and I said that's because you guys were always out of it so my doctor changed it, and I started going to another pharmacy after having my doctor call. They still did not fill my prescription when I called back the lady on the phone said a lot of people don't have their prescriptions right now and they're learning how to live without them. Basically she said I don't need this and then she tells me there's lots of other pharmacies and I can try calling them but calling this one was absolutely worthless and unprofessional telling someone that's been on medication their entire life since childhood to stop taking it and just deal with it. Tough it up. What a crappy Pharmacy zero love or care I remember when the Asian family that owned it before the store was remodeled they were so nice and always kind and even called me on my birthday or sent a card this kind of service does not exist here anymore and I will never ever even try to get a prescription from this pharmacy. In fact, the front shelf is dedicated to healthy snacks and is nicely lit up. I came for Afrin and I was glad they sold many different kinds in different sizes with generic equivalents. They have a self-check out area. The store is spacious and spread out. There's plenty of parking. The bad: I couldn't find Jello powder. There were missing price tags on some items. The interesting: I've worked for CVS before further north and vow to never do it again.

And, up until my current experience this CVS has certainly been one of them. I have been coming here to vaccines for a number of years. But yesterday, I encountered a situation that completely dumbfounds me. Tell the story, I came in to get my COVID booster and my yearly flu shot. I made an appointment, I arrived on time, and I checked it on my phone. I went and sat down in the vaccine area, and the vaccine nurse continued to pass me by, giving other people their vaccines. Finally, I asked her what was going on, and she apologized, and directed me to the vaccination check-in point at the pharmacy counter. I go there and told them about my situation, and they looked up my appointment, it was confirmed. And, then I gave the young lady at the counter my insurance card. She told me the reason that the vaccination nurse hadn't given me my vaccines is because I would have to pay for them. She told me that the price of the COVID vaccine was $247.00 and the price for my flu shot would be $167.00 I had never heard of such a thing. I have insurance! Vaccines are covered! But, she confirmed that if I wanted any of the vaccinations I would have to pay for them. I told her I would go and talk to my insurance company, and left. Believing that she had made some sort of mistake, I simply made another appointment, for the next day, at the CVS on Pacific Coast Highway. I went in there at my appointment time, checked in, and I was immediately given both of my vaccines. No charge. Again, I have insurance, I should not be charged for my vaccines! I encountered absolutely no problem whatsoever. The pharmacist was extremely nice in helping me. So, I don't know what was going on with that pharmacy staff member? Whatever it is, they don't know how to do their job. She was nice to me, but she made a serious mistake. I think we all understand that if you have insurance, vaccines are covered. So, I truly don't know what went wrong. This is just something for you to think about if you ever go to this CVS to get a vaccine. It may happen to you.

As a healthcare professional, I was VERY disappointed back in September to get my Covid booster. Only to find out they were providing an updated one within days and I was never told when I came for my shot. So I got a useless vaccine and now have to wait until AFTER Thanksgiving to get the current one. On top of that, I'm reading information about how poorly matched this year's flu shot is at actually tackling the mutation that is becoming dominant. I wanted to ask if there were any supplemental boosters in the works. The woman I talked to kept saying "we are just told....". She finally put me through to a temporary manager. And the moment I started asking HER questions, she said "well, you can talk to the manager in charge tmrw". I joked that was an easy way for her to shove me off onto somebody else too. Yarejya ( not sure if I got it correctly) saw my wife's desperation to get her medicine so she went above and beyond to transfer the prescription from my city to theirs. The regular pharmacy could not help me after that. I was recommended to go to Golden Cove Pharmacy and George was amazing and so kind and really listened to me.
