Due to my doctors office screw up I am back in the hell hole known as CVS Pharmacy on South Salinas. Only the DMV's lines are worse then this. I count 12 people ahead of me and 8 sitting waiting for prescriptions!! 1 Pharmacists and 2 technicians. This is so RIDICULOUS! Everyone needs to switch to Star Pharmacy on South Main. So the rude Karen cashier no longer works here but she's been replaced with a Chad! I was looking at Valentines Day candy while my kids grabbed some snacks. An employee who appeared to be helping a customer find something walked by me. The employees mask was on his chin. The customer gave me a strange the look as they walked by. I went over to the regular candy isle and the same employee walked up and asked if he could help me find something and I said no thank you, just browsing. Called for a prescription refill and they were out of stock. It has been 5 days and they still don't have it. Haven't had my medication for 3 of those days. When I mentioned this they had the " oh well" attitude about it. They need to get it together and understand people take medication for a reason. I wish the reviews were wrong! But they are NOT please avoid at all cost! 1. I been waiting for 40 mins (after I was told it would be 20-30 mins if i waited for it) mind you they had faxed over the prescription at 3pm. It was 6:40 when I arrived at CVS. 2. It is now 7:30pm and I go up to ask the girl at the counter and she LITERALLY ignores me and asks the name of the person that was standing next to me (Little did she know he was already helped) she didn't even say "sorry" you could tell by her face she felt like a donkey! Went to this cvs to buy an item and there was two cashiers not properly wearing a mask. One of the just had the mask over their chin and the other would pull his mask down everything time he talked. One of the other cashiers told a customer if they had a mask and next time that person comes in to wear a mask. This is like a double standard. Called last night to get a prescription refilled because the app said I have to call even though my doc just put in the prescription. Called, didn't have to do anything special, told me it should be ready in an hour or two. It's still not ready over 12 hours later and still says I need to call. I've been on hold for 40 minutes and no one has picked up. I tried hanging up and calling the front to complain and all she would do is transfer me right back to the pharmacy. This is precisely why I am switching to Walgreens as much as I can. read more

This pharmacy is probably the rudest people working. The wait time on the phone is an hour maybe even longer. They do not communicate with eachother at all, I've had to call every day and talk to someone different and everytime I call, they all have something different to say about my medication. The last person I spoke to, supposedly the pharmacist, hung up on me when I was explaining that I've been calling for 3 days and get told different things every time. The customer service of the clerks is fine, I never have a problem. But it's when you call is when they do not know what they are doing. Every month is a different story or "procedure" I never know if I'm gonna get my medication on time and the website must be wrong when it comes to this. For the life of me, I don't understand how a store can have multiple registers available,but only have one open with a massive line of people wanting to check out. Whenever I pop in there to get something, the staff comes off very moody / disgruntled and rather unmotivated when working the cash register. Oh, and I realize this is Salinas and all that jazz, but blaring the mariachi music throughout the store is extremely irritating, especially when the announcements addressing customers is in Spanish. Pharmacist wouldn't take my expired ID to pick up a perscription for my mom who doesn't shop anymore. He's the same guy mom said counted her pills wrong. I explained it had to be renewed while state offices were closed and they still wouldn't make an exception. First time it's happened, but I don't have any other way to get her perscriptions now except delivery. Hope it doesn't cost extra. read more

me and my cousins went to this cvs because it was the nearest one, we went for some makeup products and snacks. when we were in the makeup isle, there was a white lady with white fluffy hair and glasses. she wouldn't stop staring and kept following us around. we didn't feel welcomed or comfortable so we put the makeup back and went to get food, this lady had the AUDACITY to follow us and asked where the makeup we had in our hands went. we told her that we never took the makeup and put it back where it was because i prefer to buy my products where i am comfortable. we were speaking spanish the whole time we were there until she came up to us and saw that we also spoke english that's when she left us alone. i am a grown women and i do not need to be stealing products. i didn't say no more because knowing myself things would've escalated pretty quickly. yall gotta stop hiring elders who think this is the 1950's do better. read more

I really frustrating that not only they call you to tell you that your meds are ready. Only for you to come in and have you still wait an additional 20 some minutes for it not be ready. Unfortunately, customer service is not their priority. Waited in line for a prescription that was supposed to be ready Sunday. Clerk refused to look up status, just said it wasn't in her system as ready and sent me to the other Drop Off line to have a different clerk check. They seem to forget they are dealing with patients who often don't feel well. Another time I needed my son's ADD medication, but it was out of stock. Clerks spoke in Spanish assuming I didn't understand saying the pharmacist "didn't want" to order the meds that day. I was told to call the next day after 3 :00 pm to check status. When I did I was told the order was just placed. The pharmacist refused to do his job and left it for the next shift to handle. That pharmacist needs to come to school with my son and see how his laziness and refusal to do his job cost my son during final exams. read more

In early February, my doc sent a prescription over to this pharmacy for me. The pharmacy I had previously used (and loved!) closed, and I selected this one due to it being close to my office. That evening, I went to pick up my prescription, but was told that they couldn't accept my insurance until Feb 24. Huh? Didn't make sense, but I didn't argue it. Feb 24 rolls around and I go to pick up my prescription. They tell me that they tried to run it, but it turns out they're "not contracted" with my insurance. Okay, this makes absolutely no sense at all. My insurance card even has CVS printed on it! I've filled other prescriptions through CVS Caremark (their online division). I know other co-workers have had prescriptions filled through CVS. So, I question this & am flatly told that they "aren't contracted" with my insurance. I pull out my insurance card and ask them to verify they have the right information on file. The girl glances at it, says it's right, and I'll have to find a different pharmacy. Today, I went over to the CVS on Laurel & asked them. They had my prescription filled within 20 minutes, including calling for a fax of the prescription--the one on S. Main DID have the WRONG insurance info on file. This particular one (on S. Main) appears to have some incompetent staff. Based on my experience with them screwing up (and essentially refusing to verify) my insurance info, I certainly wouldn't trust them to give me the right meds. read more

First time filling prescriptions here. From the employee at "drop off" I can tell they are respectful, patient and friendly. I had to wait for my prescription and got to see the crowds they get at the pharmacy. However, the business did not impact their great customer service. All employees appeared busy and making efforts to get things done a fast pace. My prescription was ready when promised. Overall a great experience. Almost, makes me drive the extra distance because, although I love CVS in Marina the pharmacy here was exceptional. Great job!!! read more

I just recently moved to the Monterey Park area, and decided to have my mom's prescription medications transferred from the Walmart in Marina for convenience reasons (or at least I thought so). Unfortunately, starting from the first phone call I made to fill only 2 of her medications, the pharmasict I spoke with us rude, interruptive, and extremely unhelpful. He was very much in a hurry to get off of the phone, and said that one of them would be available for pick up that day (11-07-18). However, the other would have to wait. In calling back the next day to make sure hat it was ready, I spoke to another pharmacist only to be advised that they filled her prescription at a 90 day supply, and that they didn't have her secondary insurance on file, so her charge was significantly higher. He offered no additional assistance in obtaining the insurance information from me, and basically had the attitude that there was nothing else that they could do. Even if they had initially filled it incorrectly (I never askded for a 90-day supply, nor was Iasked if that was my preference). No matter who I spoke with, they were all extremely rude, and not helpfuil. Needless to say, I've decided to go back to the Walmart Pharmacy in Marina. And will be doing the transfer by today. This CVS has the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. My husband and I went there to get a flu shot. We had first been in the 'pick-up' line, for nearly a half-hour to pick-up a prescription, then we asked about getting a flu shot, so we were told to go to the line at the Drop-off window. After waiting in the Drop-off window for yet another half-hour we got to the window and the clerk said we would have to wait yet another half-hour! We gave up at that point. Such a frustrating experience. The only nice pharmacist clerks I've experienced there is from a largish fella, who is super friendly and helpful. Also, the cosmetic section is awesome, they have a lady there named Jackie who is just great, as far as customer service, she's probably the best employee they have there. She goes out of her way to help you, and she seems to know a lot about everything in that section. I will continue to go there for the cosmetics and maybe other items (if I have to), but as for the pharmacy - I'm done with that, and plan to go elsewhere even if it costs more!! read more

Pick Up (order phoned in by doctor), Drop off (because pick up couldn't take my insurance information), Consultation (to tell me it would take a few minutes), and back to consultation for a total of 35 min. How is there not a zero star option. The only possibly way this CVC could any get better is if it was torn down and it stopped wasting electricity. How is that to Costco and Nobhill can have prescriptions filled in 10 minutes yet this place takes half a day (on a good day!!!!) I was on hold for 32 minute, no one answered, no could bother saying, give us a minute please, sorry for the wait. Just let it ring...... 32 minutes. Then when they did answer they said oh it's been ready! They promised they would text when it was ready, my husband told them the importance of this medicine.
