I'm standing in line, again, at 7:00 p.m., behind at least nine other customers, half of whom are actively coughing up a Petri dish of flu, COVID, and seasonal bronchitis while the rest of us marinate in it. Staffing? Never appropriate. One pharmacist. One tech. No urgency. No apology. Just inertia and viral load. The real issue isn't just the wait. It's the philosophy of the place. Somewhere along the way, pharmacists went from trained dispensers of medication to self-appointed judges, jury, and executioners of care. I respect the rigor of a PharmD program, but the job is to fill prescriptions safely and accurately, not to become an uncompensated extension of the insurance industry or to act as bouncers at the gate of medical access. Today, like every day, it's a bureaucratic gauntlet: prior authorizations, insurance denials, random policy flags, "state law" this, "federal regulation" that, all wrapped in the magical CVS clause of we can deny you for any reason, with no recourse. What I need: my blood pressure meds. What I get: friction, judgment, and delay. CVS claims the pharmacy isn't profitable? Then don't run one. If a multibillion-dollar company can't make the numbers work, then the problem is leadership, not margins. Fire the board. Replace the CEO. But don't weaponize inefficiency and call it healthcare. Worst of all: this isn't just my experience. It's everybody's. Every person in line is dealing with an issue. I've seen nothing but confusion, confrontations, and people leaving empty-handed or worse, angry and still sick. This isn't healthcare. It's hostile indifference. Update: Things have improved--at least somewhat--since my original review. I've still got flashbacks of waiting weeks for a common prescription, but I've discovered the secret sauce: use the CVS app. Pro tip: Through the app, you can actually request a callback instead of sitting on hold until you age into your next prescription (I once spent 45 minutes waiting for someone to pick up--no joke, that actually happened). It also makes prescription tracking and communication a lot smoother. Honestly, the app has saved me a ton of frustration and cut down on the mystery of when (or if) something will be ready. I stopped in today to pickup some cold medicine since it's that time of the year. It was only a little surprising to see that the cold medicine was pretty cleared out. I ended up getting some liquid DayQuil severe Honey Cold and Flu and some of the CVS brand pills that I'm hoping will be just as good as name brand. I walked around to browse the Christmas items that are now out and the Halloween items on sale as they clear the inventory. I also wondered over to the cold drinks to find they had been pretty cleared out (no Arizona iced tea for me). I ended up walking to the check out and saw that a couple staff members were taking out the cash drawer, so I went to the self checkout instead. I thought it was funny that I ended up needing staff help anyway since cold medicine has an age check on it. In the end, I got what I needed and had fun looking around. read more

Clowns. Pure and simple. We were at Rite Aid on Foothills with no problems for 20 years until they shut down and switched our prescriptions over here. Since then, all three attempts at getting our medicines have been failures. They can't figure out how Blue Cross insurance works, they don't have our auto-refill medicines when we need it, and they act like they're doing us a favor on top of everything. My prescriptions are at CVS 1771 Pleasant Grove. It is absolutely impossible to actually speak to a live person. Normally it's no problem. I get they're busy but every once in awhile, I have something specific and need to speak to a human. Leaving voice mails over and over. Beyond frustrated. read more

Well I must say that I do not come to CVS very often. Less than 5 times in my entire life but I was on a mission! Hubs wanted a gum massager ... you know those dental things with the pointy rubber end. I had been to 4 stores in the area including Walgreens and no one had this God forsaken thing. I walk in and I was immediately greeted by a young man named Sonny. He saw my look of confusion trying to figure out where the dental aisle was. He asked if he could help. He says Aisle 23 to your right. He was right. They had it. It was $5.29. Pricey yes but I think at this point I might've paid $20 for it to prevent me from having to look further. I decided to mull around to see what CVS was all about. It was a sad sad little store with wide spread aisles and empty shelves. You wonder if they were going out of business? I am used to Walgreens where they are packed full of goods and customers. Not sure how long this location will survive. I walked out with some sale candy and my gum massager. What happened to service? Been a Rite customer for 40 years if you include Thrifty Payless. Thought I'd move my prescriptions over because my insurance prefers them. 1 don't exp service. They will not follow up with you when you run out, Rite Aid does, so here I am with no heart medication. I went in one month early with my prescriptions in a bag to assure I wound be taken care of. I went back in there today, out of two drugs. The manager and sales person said we don't call your doctors when your out. I said so I'm supposed to do my job and yours. This store has low rating. Probably getting it from Miss Charm herself Pharmacy Manager. Poor customer service. Poor poor service. I do my job I don't wish to do theirs too! Back to Rite Aid , new location. read more

After having a really bad experience at the Douglas Blvd pharmacy located in Target this was a blessing in disguise. The pharmacy and pharmacist were absolutely amazing. With everything I just went through they actually understood what I was going through and did everything in their power to get my prescription filled. They were understanding and had actually cared about me and didn't want me to have another bad experience. Service at the Pharmacy is always complicated, either out of stock of prescriptions or problems with the prescription blamed on the Doctors Office, even though it's been a repeated order with refills for years. But they really stepped up the customer service steps now, you can't even reach a pharmacist over the phone. The addition of the "Improved service through a detailed voicemail" is a joke...no option for a Pharmacist or Representative, just straight to voicemail. Don't even try, transfer your prescriptions to another Pharmacy. read more

My daughters arm was sore for two weeks and bruised for just as long after her Covid booster shot. CVS needs to be more consistent with their training a pharmacist in regards to giving immunizations. Typical CVS, I've always had good interactions with the staff. Yesterday when I came in to pick up a prescription for my son, the young woman at the register was so super friendly and helpful it actually prompted me to want to leave a review. A RX my doctor had called in needed to be special ordered in - she asked if I wanted it faster, and took the time to check the other CVS's in the area to see if another location had it in stock. She ended up transferring it to another place where I could pick it up right away. It wasn't until I was leaving that I thought to check her name, but she's been there every time I came by the pharmacy. Always seems like a really kind person. Just AWFUL pharmacy. They never ever answer their phones. Ever. I've tried dozens of times. I waited THREE weeks for them to order a pain patch for my mother (they kept telling me "any day" which is why I didn't move to another pharmacy immediately). Then they told me 15 mins to check the order for the day, 30 mins later they said they would check right away, 20 mins later they said "here it is we will get this to you right now", and 30 mins after that I'm still standing here. She will continually tell you to hurry up and that you need to finish your transaction now because they have lunch in ten minutes when there is no one else in line even though the person who is helping you is not done!! Been coming here for my drug store needs for years, even before they were called CVS. They are always helpful and courteous. They great you with a big smile ad a warm hello the minute you walk in . I like that I can earn a few buck with there reward program, especially sine I get m RXs here anyway, cause that is where most of the Extra Bucks stack up from. The only down fall is when you get a new prescription, the Pharmacist has to be on duty for you to pick it up, even if you do not want the consult. Well unfortunately he takes his lunch at various times, so It seems I always have to go back a second time to actually pick up. read more

Actually it is a CVS now but yes I liked the name better when it was Longs drugs. I have been to this location several times. I like the self service Kodak area. I needed to make copies of printed photos and it was great. I scanned them and The came out just the same in just a few seconds. I like having a reliable drug store close by. read more

I love CVS. If you coupon, you know what I am talking about. This location specifically has good selection of products and the shelved are usually stocked. They don't always seem to be labeled properly which can be a hassle. You can however use a price scanner located near the entrance. read more

In the past year we've gone to this CVS store to print out pictures at least a dozen times. Not one time has it been a smooth task. The machines continue to be so difficult to use because it has a hard time connecting to their internet. Or half way through the machine gets stuck and you have to start over. The printer is out of ink or paper etc. on a couple of occasions we've just walked out without our pictures. Most of the time the employees had no idea how to fix the problems. Today was the last time we will go there. The machines wouldn't connect to their internet. Another customer was leaving as we sat down saying both machines didn't work and she was leaving and never coming back because of all the problems she has experienced there. We couldn't log on either so left and went to the CVS on Pleasant Grove. The customer who left the other CVS was at this one and happy the machines were working. We printed our pictures and a employee gave us a suggestion on using the machine. Bottom line is if CVS can't maintain these machines or train their employees on how to use them they should take them out of the store. They are losing customers because of it! read more

I have been a returning customer here every week and spent a lot of money at this CVS location. Not once have I tried to return anything because I usually don't like the hassle of it. I purchased some shampoo and conditioner with Apple Pay and was able to prove I bought it at that location and what date I bought it at. When they asked me if I wanted a receipt for the original transaction, I said what most of us say "no, I'm okay" thinking my purchase was going to work for me. Turns out the shampoo dried my hair out and I wanted to exchange it for another one. I used it once. The store manager Thaddeus was very difficult to deal with and told me they don't do exchanges. Having been a senior store retail manager for several years, I myself have been in this position. When you have a return without a receipt, you're supposed to issue store credit. I already knew that. He was telling me there was nothing he could do and I had to keep repeating myself saying I wasn't trying to return them, I wanted to exchange them and store credit would work so I didn't see what the issue was and why he wasn't proceeding with the transaction. He was just standing there creating an issue when it shouldn't have even been that difficult. I asked to speak with his district manager and he told me he'd be there Tuesday. I would suggest if you ever want to exchange anything here, don't waste your breath. This manager doesn't have good people skills or customer service skills and will not work with you whatsoever. I used to be a loyal customer here but there's no way I'd shop here going forward. Highly recommend the CVS near Safeway instead. read more

Wanted to buy an electric toothbrush as they were priced at 30% off. As they were locked up in a cabinet I walked the store looking for an employee to open it for me. Finally see a member of management, I tried to get his attention but he blew me off going on his break. Went up front and asked the cashier to get someone ro help me. Waited 15 minutes and then my wife got the attention and the manager that had blown me off opened the case and we went up front to buy it but it didn't ring up at the 30% off price. Cashier followed my wife to the item and showed her the 30% off sticker. She called the manager and they refused to honor the sale price so we canceled the transaction and left the store. I have filed a complaint with weights and measures for their false advertising. read more

This store is always out of sale items. I Get to the store right at 7:00am in Sunday's the day the sale ad comes out and they are out of stock and entire shelves are empty on the sale items. Makes me wonder if they are clearing shelves before the store opens. read more

I was doing a last minute photo print for Christmas presents. Time really escaped me this year.... I placed my order and was just going in to pick it up, when I got home I realized that the photos I had selected and uploaded from the app had somehow been zoomed in and cropped some pre setting that CVS does for you. (Ugh) It left me with people having half their head missing, photos cropped at weird places...I had already cropped the photos the way I wanted them. Matthew and Sonny went above and beyond to help me out when they did not have to. Employees were exemplary and should it be recognized for it thank you for helping me to make Christmas happen. The pharmacy staff is incompetent, rude, care less that they've told you to wait 10 minutes then leave for lunch and forget you for 25 minutes then ask you to wait another 15 min! This has happened 3 times. Also, they never answer their phone and when they finally do, they put you on hold for 10 additional minutes and rush you off. read more

This CVS pharmacy is so personable, I honestly feel so loved and cared about from them. I am a 23 year old girl with a rare and chronic kidney disease (MSK). At the age of 23 I have passed 19 documented kidney stones. That being said, I am prescribed pain medication. This pharmacist, Katie, (so sorry if spelt wrong) went out of her way to get me my proper medication when they were unable to refill my prescription themselves. She called around until finding my medication and then notified my doctor and then called me to tell me what was going on and her game plan. I feel so loved. She went above and beyond to get me the proper meds as soon as possible and by notifying all parties. Thank you CVS, from the bottom of my heart. read more
