I have Chronic pain from a condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I take the same pain med every month. I have used this pharmacy for years but for the life of me I don't know why. I have to call every month to each CVS to see which one has the med. I called today and was told they had my pain med. I take the Rx to them, so they could SEE it. I get a call 30 minutes later telling me my Workers Comp will not pay for it because they only have Brand and the Dr didn't write it for Brand. She wrote it so they can sub with generic, says voluntary formulary PERMITTED. So, I drive all the way back to CVS and the Pharmacist told the tech to leave it alone, I had to wait till the other cashier was done with the drive thru customers. Then was told they called my Workers Comp and it was denied. I asked who she called, she didn't know. (Really?) She wouldn't look either. She just handed me my Rx. I called my Work Comp pharmacy and they said she never even put the drug through, She said it would get approved if they don't have generic. So, I go into the store, ask if she wants to speak to the lady on the phone with the RIGHT pharmacy, she said no. I was practically in tears. Then she says, OH, we do have it in generic. I asked how they made that mistake, the Pharmacist said "they must have thought it was ER instead of IR" For the type of med I needed. Clearly it was written so it could be read properly, not sure how they go about hiring the people who take the Rx's from us and determine who can get there meds filled and who cant but I am done! I went next door to the local pharmacist Crouches Pharmacy and asked if they would be willing to order my meds each month, he said "Gladly, just give me a call 2 days prior and it will be here" He was so nice so after today, I will not give any of my business to CVS again. The lady still would not take my Work Comp phone number for approvals. She just kept saying they HAD to use the other number/company. I was in a different pharmacy 2 months earlier and had a similar issue so I called ACS, my Work Comp pharmacy, they handled the situation completely, the tech put the number to ACS in her computer for future use. That is how it is done. Why is it customer service has fallen to an all time low, especially when it is needed the most, at a pharmacy. No one should have to go through something like this when they are in pain. The Dr writes a prescription (Rx) they should fill it. Apparently CVS doesn't get enough money for brand from my Work Comp so they don't want to fill it with brand. How sad is that?? I gave them the number to call for approval and they turned it down. I am so disappointed in this long time pharmacy. read more
