Bureaucratic pharmacy process. Not a one-stop shop. Waited in 3 separate lines to fill one prescription.

So, Came in here on a Sunday night after dinner (i usually like to walk around after dinner), and the workers seemed very relaxed and lackadaisical. I came in searching for toothpaste (it's on sale right now) and some midnight snacks for the busy week ahead. When i was browsing the aisles, i asked one of the employees where the toothpaste and candy aisles were. She flashed me this attitude like she was trying to convey to me that she was having a bad day and wanted me to just find it myself or read the signs up above. So i went to where she told me to go and i found the toothpaste that was on sale and some snacks that were on sale. When i was being rung up by the clerk, she gave me the total and it did not match up to what i thought it was. I asked her to double check the pricing and she did that and it still was not it. She then proceeded to check the toothpaste aisle if it was the correct price(THEY WERE ALL MISPLACED). When she came back it turned out to be incorrect so she offered me a refund however she did not apologize for placing it in the location. While she was processing my refund she incorrectly entered it in such that i was stuck with a 6 dollar CVS card (when i paid cash for it). I then complained saying i wanted cash instead of store credit because i used cash to pay for it. She gave me a bit of an attitude while helping me change it to a cash refund. All in all, the service here needs improvement. I will not return to this CVS even though it's close to my apartment in Riverside,i'd rather drive out a bit further for a better experience. read more

The CVS, store # 9849, at 8280 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA is desperately in the need of cleaning on the outside of the building. This used to be a beautiful store but today I noticed that the landscaping is awful. The leaves haven't been picked up from the fall season, the parking lot hasn't been cleaned, the walkways around the building including by the front door need some serious power steaming. Not sure what is going on but it looks just terrible. Really sad because it's right across the street from Cal Baptist University and I'm sure the students visit the store but it really looks like a dump. read more

Where do I start, the pharmacist was rude. Gave us attitude she's deff not happy with her job. The bathrooms where a mess. No soap. It's amazing how this place stays in business. I've had the best experiences with this CVS store I've been coming here for 20yrs! The Pharmacy staff are all awesome and super helpful! The regular pharmacists. are always ready to go the extra mile to make sure I have my important medications filled on time! All the staff here really care for their patients whose lives and quality of life depend upon them getting our medications to us in a timely manner and doing a great job! I've seen some negative reviews that surprise me?! But perhaps people aren't aware of how strict the rules and laws have become in order for a pharmacy to fill any prescriptions for controlled substances?! They are bound by tighter laws and regulations that they don't create at the pharmacy! It's the government that controls this....and yes.....it makes it very inconvenient and to some perhaps it even seems invasive but don't fault the pharmacists and their staff they do as much as they can for us! It's the new laws and tighter regulations that are at fault and it's an inconvenience for many of us as well as the pharmacy staff!! If your'e picking up, say, a pain control medication, only the pharmacist is allowed to dispense that at the moment you come in! Because they're kept under lock and key at all times!!! It is a law that you must give your ID at time of turning in your script and picking it up! So if the only pharmacist on duty had to step away for a bit and you show up randomly... the other staff cannot unlock the safe to get you your medication! Only the pharmacist can do that, and if you think they delight in these laws and regulations.....just think about how much harder its made their jobs as well as the annoyances it causes us and be a little patient! Patience and understanding the situation can go a long way towards making both sides of this difficult situation go more smoothly! I do understand that someone who normally doesn't take controlled medications ever would feel very annoyed those of us who do on the regular are already aware of how it works..... If I could rate this CVS with zero stars I would. This place has such horrible customer service. Every time I use the pharmacy I swear I will never come back but time after time I return. I will be switching my pharmacy to another provider after today's experience. Today my doctor sent in my prescription to CVS. When I arrived to the pharmacy I asked if they had received my prescription. The clerk seems bothered that I was there. Then after locating it he stated it would be a 20 minute wait. Ok fine. After waiting I was paged by Kathleen M, another clerk. She asked for my date of birth and said that my insurance was invalid. She was very rude. She said I didn't have insurance and that if I wanted my order filled I could pay full price. She almost was about to turn me away with her claim that my insurance was invalid. My husband and I replied that it was impossible that I did not have insurance, here is my insurance card, here is my information. We told her I just left the hospital, that her claim was impossible. She claimed that blue shield stated I didn't have insurance with them. Keep in mind the whole time she had my medical Atena / CVS card in her hand with all of my information. Once she said blue shield I stated didn't you look at my health card, I'm with Atena. She said oopps I will fill it right now. This girl did not even pay attention to details. She was ready to deny me and turn me away. She caused a quick trip to the pharmacy to become a debacle of almost an hour! This girl needs training; training in customer service skills and how to read medical information. Hands down this was the worst customer experience I have ever had. Horrible! read more

If I could give this place a negative star I would. My husband threw his back out and wasn't able to drop off his prescription at his regular pharmacy (CVS-Riverside). I decided to drop it off for him at the drive through. Mike took the script then asked me for my ID. Of course I asked why since I was just dropping off a prescription, he said he needed it. Whatever, I gave it to him. 15 minutes later, I have no idea what he's doing so I ask what is going on? He said, "I have to make sure we have it." 5 minutes later he hands me a clipboard and wants me to write down my address. "What? I'm just dropping off a prescription?" He gave me my ID back and tried to give me the prescription back... I said, "absolutely not! Let me speak to a manager." Meanwhile, there's now a line of cars behind me. The pharmacist came over, apologized, then wanted to confirm my husband's address. She rattles off the address on my drivers license. Nope, turns out Mike changed my husband's address on the computer to my old address that was on my drivers license. So, an hour later I come in to pick up the prescription and they tell me "I'm sorry, the pharmacist is out too lunch and won't be back for 35 minutes. We can't give you the prescription until she gets back." I can't tell you how backwards this CVS is. Awful! We will be changing pharmacies immediately. read more

I was going to switch my prescription over from Target but after reading the reviews I definitely won't be moving them. The cashiers are ALWAYS rude when checking out. I have never had one cashier that has been nice. It's totally ridiculous. read more

This place sucks, workers are always moody, and they get a lot of stuff wrong. For example, I had a medication that a new doctor gave me for my asthma, I needed a refill but was out so they said "well we will send in a request to your dr" bare in mind I need this medicine for asthma attacks so they then said "it'll take a couple days" so a week later I called to check the status and they said my dr "did not approve the refill" so I said "well which dr did u send it to because my dr wouldn't do that" and they sent it to my old dr. Never checking to see which dr gave me the rx, they just sent it to my old one. read more

Wow - wish I had read reviews before I switched all our prescriptions to this awful place! I even had a discussion with pharmacist/tech before changing and he assured me I would be happy with their level of customer service - WRONG! Upon occasion, someone is relatively competent and even a bit pleasant, but usually not. Since April 2 (more than two months), I have been trying to get a prescription moved and set up for refills. Six trips, numerous phone calls and each time they have "misplaced" my request and I have to start all over. Final straw was today when I was informed the cost would be more than three times the amount we were quoted and had been paying elsewhere. They are lying liars who lie! read more

The worst customer service is here if I could rate this a zero I would They make up their own rules when it comes to the ads (Like ) if the ad says Have to buy $30 worth to get $10 in ECBs They will only let you get 4 of the same item WHAT SENSE DOES THAT MAKE if the 4 items don't add up to $30?? I haven't had the problems that other people report here, but I also don't use their pharmacy. While the clerks I've encountered are friendly and courteous they are also overworked. This is one of the most understaffed places I've ever been in. It is not unusual to have just one clerk on duty and people lined up all the way down the front aisle. Recently, they have installed four self-checkout stations. This has helped a great deal. May 2013 update: I have now used their pharmacy several times via the drive-through and it's fine. read more

I know that a lot of customers are rude, but I've never been anything but polite to this woman and literally every time I go in to pick up at the pharmacy, she stares me down like I've insulted her personally. FILTHY! I'm not a clean freak, but check out the floor. This is a pharmacy! I complained to the management using the analogy of "would your mom think this floor is clean?" only to hear that they are in process of remodel. Came back a month later because it's next to Trader Joe's, which I frequent, and just as gross as ever. Way to perpetuate the "land of the dirt people" stereotype! Riversiders actually DO care. I typically LOVE CVS pharmacy's but this one does not meet their customer service standards AT ALL.I looked up the hours and saw that it was open until 12:00 am (my mistake as I wasn't actually looking at the CVS website) but they informed me they actually were closing in a about 5 minutes. So i said that's fine I will just drop off my prescription and pick it up in the morning. The one gal that was helping me started to give me a bit of a hard time and asked me why I chose their location? I answered because I saw they closed at 12:00 am but I made a mistake and it was ok I would just pick it up in the morning. Well shortly after another girl came up to me and asked if I still lived in the city stated on my I.D. I answered yes. She asked why I deiced to come to their location, I said the same answer I said to the other lady. I then told her I felt very uncomfortable and if they would just prefer me to go to another location as they clearly don't want my business. She said no she just knew there was one in my city and was wondering why I just don't go to that location. As if I have to have a reason for coming to a location other than the one in my city. Well, if you must know I work right next to this location so its convenient for me. I was dropping something off late at night and it would be easy to swing by on my lunch break and pick it up. Thanks to the hostile employees I will not be returning to this location. I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. I had no idea it was a such a big deal to try out a new location. This is not CVS standards and I have never experienced something so uncomfortable before. They clearly do not want new costumers and I highly doubt that its CVS would agree with how they treated me. I will continue to be a loyal costumer to other CVS locations but this one is a no go for me. read more

I have been coming to this CVS for 13 years and I swear they have a time clock that goes off once per month telling them it's, "piss off your customer time!" My husband and I have spent more time driving back and forth to this pharmacy than we have getting the actual prescriptions. If you get a call from the automated guy telling you your Rx is ready, it's a lie. Wait another 3 hours because these people don't have their act together. And heaven help you if you pick up at lunch time! I tried to pick up an Rx for my daughter (an Rx she had already had previously) and they wouldn't give it to me because the pharmacist was at lunch. When I returned at 2:45, the pharmacist asked, "Has she had this before?" I answered, "yes," and she handed me the bag! When I asked why I couldn't have done this earlier she informed me that if I didn't like it I could go to the CVS on Magnolia by CBU. Avoid this CVS. You are a waste of their time. read more

I just read the reviews on this CVS in Riverside Plaza just to make sure it wasn't me being sensitive. Oh my gosh! This store is consistently awful! the employees are rude and not helpful AT ALL. I was in this store tonight to get toothpaste and a couple of other items. The toothpaste I chose said there was a $2 off coupon at the "coupon center". I asked Tiffany S. (according to her name tag) where I could get this coupon. She looked up, annoyed that I was bothering her while she was doing nothing, looked in the direction of the "coupon center", looked back at me and said, "It's out of order". I wanted to ask her if I could still get the discount since I was not able to access the coupon but she was VERY scary and instantly dismissed me. When I finished shopping, I got her for my checker. She finished ringing me up and put my receipt down on the counter without a thank you, kiss my %#*, or anything else, clearly, she was DONE with me. Then she looked up at a young woman that was carrying a small child, gave her a nasty, hateful look, looked like she wanted to vomit and shook her head in disgust. What is it with this store? I've dealt with the pharmacy as well a couple of times and it was awful. I use a different pharmacy now and I'll not shop here anymore either. read more

I switched to CVS from Walgreens simply because they had a 24 hr pharmacy a few miles away. I can't go without my medication and if I go after work, sometimes the pharmacy was closed. So I gave them a try. CVS on Adams St is THE WORST SERVICE EVER! Rude, super long lines, they sent me to the wrong window TWICE where I had to wait again and again after switching lines. I got a text saying to come pick up. Went through the drive up but the rude Hispanic gentleman told me it's not ready so I have to come in the store and wait for about an hour. He said the girl put it in the computer to pick up tomorrow by accident. Why do I have to come in and wait for an hour cuz you messed up? Arggh! So I waited and then switched all my Rx to the CVS on Riverside Ave by Trader Joe's. Nothing improved. Same problem of getting a text message saying come and pick up your meds, then I get there and they say it will be ready in 2 more days. I'm switching back to Walgreens. CVS sucks no matter what address you go to. read more

Have been CVS customer at this location for over 25 years and going. All the staff from the pharmacy to front register check out have always been professional and friendly. Over the years I've seen people come and go but the current team at CVS, Riverside Plaza location are the Very Best. read more
