I have to buy lots of donuts for meetings for work, and they are awesome about being able to call the evening before an order 10 dozen at a time. They take pride in their job, they stack them carefully so the icing doesn't mess up, and they are all so beautifully decorated. The flavor and selection is out of this world!

They said, and I quote "we only have (2) $10s and (10) $5 and won't break a $50 this early in the morning." I was putting $25 on the car to fill it up. This is absurd. Absolutely absurd. Meijer, get your ish together. It was 8am on a Sunday. They said I could go into the store and break it and come back. Well, can't you just ask for change from the cash window then? Yes, yes you can. Drove to Casey's. They broke my $50 no problem.

The waiting/dining area is sometimes smokey to the point of causing tears. It has the "underground" vibe unironically, so it's hard to knock the ambiance. The only thing La Mex has going for it is the food and that's not really so good anymore.

I buy a tank of gasoline and go next door to Rally's for food. In fact, I've probably never bought anything inside the old store because it was so busy and crowded. Their strength is their Speedy Rewards program. You get points on purchases and discounts and coupons on the other side. The company is quick to raise prices on gasoline, but this location out of the three in town is the slowest to raise prices. Maybe, this one has more business because of I-70. The good thing is that they have so many pumps and the pay at the pump works just fine, even asking for your Speedy Rewards card before you buy anything. Also, I've never had to go inside for a receipt, as the paper always seems to be sufficient. Competence is a virtue, right? I've been in the store several times now and they're very pleasant and try to help. The place is clean and the food is okay.

I bought 3 lottery tickets numbered 18,17,16 all attatched and from the same roll that I had purchased 3 losers (20,21,22) from earlier before this shift. So I was down $30 and on a mission. I scratch three more losers. I look at the numbers and only one ticket, 19, had been snagged and I'm $60 in so I decide to go for another 3. I get the same lady that sold me the last 3 I had just got. I tell her I'll take three more. She goes to the other side and gets lottery tickets off of that roll and I told her no I would like them from the same roll that I just got from. This is when she informs me that she got the last ticket from that side and the two others were from the side where she just got these 3. I'm thinking to myself as I'm walking back to the car with these three tickets from a different side. When did lottery tickets end at 16? I had the three tickets still attached and the 3 losers from the previous shift. I watched her only go to one side and bring me three tickets from one side. So while I'm scratching these three tickets from another roll, I'm thinking you know what win or lose I'm going back in there and I'm gonna show the manager, that was standing right by us while she said that whole lie, my older tickets and see if she can shine some light on it. The manager had a register open also because it's early morning pretty busy so I get her and I asked for three more tickets and apparently she overheard me say something about the other roll so she got me three tickets off of the roll that I originally wanted imagine that, it was still the same roll and the numbers all lined up with the ones I had gotten earlier. So now I'm in my car scratching these tickets realizing that apparently she knows that there's some winners left and she's called somebody to come in to purchase them. So I keep buying them in 3s, from the lying employee who is eatingcrow as she hands me the tickets. I hit like 3 5x a couple bags and a bonus so It gets to where there are 4 left and I was just gonna get the rest and head to the house. Well her buddy finally showed up and got the remaining ones. I know this because a man, I don't know, exited with some lottery tickets in hand and just looking at me. So I went back in and asked for the remaining four, she let me know that the manager just put a new role in. So I cashed out and she told me to have a nice day. First thing she said since being put on deadmouth for that fraudulent lie she put out there right by the manager. As I walk to my car that guy is still looking at me. I smiled and said you got those last tickets. He grinned and acted as if he didn't know what I was talking about. So while it's obvious that some shady things are taking place, and I will no longer buy lottery tickets from there or actually probably any speedway because it seems like management may be in on it I still made out better than When I first returned. I was down $30 but after all was scratched and done (get it? like said and done) I walked away just $15 down.

I have visited here several times, and have eaten their fried chicken dinner, it was very good for a store, and cooked fresh to order, not just out of the deli counter. They can make you deli sandwiches, have all the convenience store quick grab food items, chips, candy bars, ice cream, soda pop, and more food items. Ask for their menu as they are also a small restaurant and will cook you up some good eatin's! On one side of the store they have all the convenience store items, and on the other side they have tables to eat meals and shelves with hardware types of items such as screws, nails, small pipes, and handy man home maintenance type things. Arlington needs a small store like this for their community and I am very happy they are there. The owners are friendly and helpful and nice to converse with.

So I go to the little self check out and it rings the item up at $6.89 and that's after I put my customer code in. I press the I need help button that springs the five staff members at the service counter to laugh and talk more, two staff members to walk fast away from me and as I left the items at the register to walk out there were three standing at the door chuckling. More often, I leave without finding a pump because they've hidden it behind the store. Having been at the Meijer store, I decided to fuel up at their filling station since the diesel fuel was under $4.00--$3.999. That's not bad compared to $4.179 to $4.299 that I've seen recently, while the price of gasoline is much (30-60 cents) lower. I went into the store with cash to pre-pay. The person at the register gave me a blank stare and eventually, asked me why I was there. I went back to the pump, after paying and found that the pump handle had fuel all over it and couldn't get it to work. I'm an idiot, right? I figured there was something wrong since there was fuel on the handle. I walked back into the store. "That's diesel?" "Yes." "You need to press the red button." "Thanks." I envisioned a big red emergency button but it was this tiny thing that my thumb would cover and it was situated by the price display. It worked! Having finished and went back to Mr. Blank Stare and got my change. My hand still smells like fuel, but the tank is full and I know better now. I didn't look at the prices for drinks and whatever else. The interior seemed to have plenty, not unlike Speedway. Meijer does have one special item that is difficult to find around here: E85 fuel.
