I was so delighted when I recently showed up at the Supercenter on Troy Road to discover that the Walmart's claims were true. I didn't know what the recycling bin would look like. So I asked for help and I found the staff to be gracious. They walked me over to the recycling area which was neat and well maintained. The bin was empty and ready to accept donations. I believe strongly in sustainability and reducing my carbon footprint. I've been looking for recyclers in the Capital Region. Sometimes, I get disappointed. There are chain stores (should I name them all?) which claim to recycle but do a poor job of it. Their employees are nasty and their bins are dirty, neglected and overflowing. I'm happy to share the good news that both this Walmart as well as the Target store in the neighboring shopping plaza are accepting plastic mailers for recycling and their employees have been welcoming. The recycling process time consuming and expensive. It's nice to know that some large businesses are giving back.

Sadly, I have to deal with one of those 'online' pharmacies for my long-term prescriptions. But for everything else, including my pups' Rxs, I go to Lincoln Pharmacy. At Lincoln, they actually answer their phones. They call you back when they have questions or updates. They treat you like a real person. That's the kind of service that's lacking from so many other pharmacies. If you want to feel like your health actually matters, go to Lincoln Pharmacy.

How can it be eight years since I wrote my last review for Crestwood Pharmacy? And how can it be…read morethat in all of that time there hasn't been a single other review of the place? One reason is likely that the pharmacy's clientele seem to be an elderly population who live in the neighborhood. But could it also have something to do with my initial tentative review? At the time I praised the business for being one of the only independent pharmacies in the area. But I didn't have a lot more to say. Now Crestwood has been my family pharmacy for almost a decade, and I wouldn't dream of going any place else. Perhaps if it weren't for our sabbatical year in Princeton, I might not realize just how good we have it with this local independent operator. But while in New Jersey, I got to experience what it's like to fill prescriptions at a chain pharmacy. In a word, it was dreadful. And Crestwood was one of the things I missed about life in Albany. Not too long ago, the schools were having a lice epidemic, and my kids got the bugs. There was a local shortage of the prescription treatment, and Crestwood was out. But Jay helped me track some down by calling around to the chain pharmacies in the area. That's service that cares. And while some businesses might be reluctant to send you to their direct competitors, this move solidified my loyalty to Crestwood even further. Yes, I have to drive past several other pharmacies to get there. But I'm happy to do it. Independent pharmacies are a rare and precious thing. I hope this one keeps the faith and never sells out.

Fell ill while visiting Albany and had to have a last minute medication script filled. I gave the…read moredoctor this CVS as it appeared closest to the Fairfield Inn and Suites on State St. Within 2 hours the CVS called and left me a voicemail saying my prescription was filled and ready for pick up. I was very happy with the speed the script was filled, communication and that it was in stock. While driving to leave town we picked it up the next day. When my partner went in to the pharmacy to pick it up there was a pretty long line at the pharmacy. My partner said the line moved at a decent pace. Once at the front the pharmacist was very fast to get the prescription and complete the transaction. The speed was top notch! We were very happy with a seamless prescription filling especially while traveling out of state. I would absolutely recommend this pharmacy and pharmacist! I am happy we chose to drive to pick it up and not walk. The area is not one that I would recommend walking through unless you are familiar with the area or have a local with you. The area seemed a bit rough. There were some quite obviously on drugs individuals wandering by while I waiting outside in the car at 1pm on a Sunday afternoon.

I wonder if I accidentally signed up with a different Walgreens branch by accident?Nevertheless, it was a relatively calm Monday morning and after realizing my error they were able to take me immediately as a walk-in. My phlebotomist was the nicest person. She led me to the separate vaccination room which is very clean and kept locked with a key code. I asked her if I could get one vaccine on each arm otherwise I'm not sure I could lift them later if they get sore. One of the shots is supposed to result in more aftermath discomfort than the other. I remember it as being the flu shot but she said most patients tell her it's the Covid shot that leaves them with a bit of soreness. I'm happy to report that 30 minutes after getting both of the vaccines, I don't feel a thing in either arm! Some medical experts like to put out public reminders like, "Flu before boo," to remind people to get their shots before Halloween when flu season starts. I do have health coverage but for those who don't, it's important to remember that flu shots are free for most people at pharmacies that offer vaccines, so please get protected! Thanks, Walgreens!

Years ago (decades), I bought all my cosmetics, hair care and skin care products at this CVS. Over…read morethe years, the pharmacy wait got longer and longer, and both the pharmacy and store staff got more unfriendly and less helpful, while prices shot up exorbitantly. I think they hike the prices extra because this pharmacy is located in Delmar and they assume everyone has money. My neighbor's daughter worked at the store when she was in high school and was constantly pressured to work more hours. That was the last straw for me. I support workers. I do not support companies who exploit the folks who work hard making them money.

I had to go to the Urgent Care across the parking lot a few times (thanks pneumonia) this past winter, and they'd have everything ready by the time I walked over there. Maybe I had to wait a minute or two if they were busy. The other day I walked in and the lady behind the counter waved and said hi. On my way out the guy told me to have a good one, and I admonished him to do the same! So, at least in my experience, the service is fast and friendly. The pharmacists are especially kind despite the treatment they get all day.
