Is it just me or do we feel like drugstores are gouging us again? This time of year you could typically find heavily reduced prices on Halloween candy while the stores made room for the Hanukkah and Christmas items. 33% off the elevated and artificially hiked candy prices was a bit of a joke. I actually went in there to pick up a prescription which the online service said was refillable. Made the trip over, waited on the line, which is always long, reached a seemingly disgruntled associate only to find my prescription required doctor approval. So I guess I need to be skeptical of the online information in the future. Nevertheless, while I was there, I filled my shopping cart with some sale items - a good value on brand-name cereal which in our house is a real treat, not a daily consumed item The consumable aisles are outrageously priced thanks to the tariff taxes on the American public, I suppose. Allegedly. Add that to opportunistic price gouging and you've got a dwindling number of super pharmacies, taking advantage of the public. I didn't come by the CVS decision, thoughtfully, in fact when Rite Aid closed other shops and went belly up, my prescription was transferred to CVS and it's close to my home. I'm rethinking that decision, but meanwhile, they managed to get over $200 from me for what amounted to two bags of consumables. My three star review reflects my disappointment and discussed how not just CVS but their partners in crime are gouging the American public - Gillette razors, artificially inflates their regular price and then offers you some kind of "special deal if you buy two so you wind up paying the same thing you would've paid a year ago Only you have some false sense of emotional gratitude Forgive the snarky review, but three stars is generous. My suggestion to CVS is to put more pressure on their suppliers to tone down the pricing while we get through this financial crisis we're in. read more

I'm only giving a star bc I must. First and foremost: rude, abrupt and SNOTTY pharmacy manager who is essentially forcing me to keep a NON PRESCRIPTION ITEM inadvertently accepted by my unknowing husband picking up other REAL prescriptions. I have told CVS pharmacy South Road SEVERAL TIMES TO MARK IN MY HEALTH RECORDS NOT TO FILL THIS IF EVER CALLED IN!!! This is a supplement sold on AMAZON $12 and CVS WITH INSURANCE CHARGES $125. IS THIS ITEM IS NOT REQUIRED BY LAW TO BE DISPENSED BY A PHARMACY. They would NOT take back a triple sealed package. I have composed a letter for corporate, invoking the names of the rude pharmacy manager, the store manager, the regional manager and providing receipts as well as other evidence of HIGHWAY ROBBERY. Don't give me some BS about my insurance!!!!! CVS HEALTH IS AS RESPONSIBLE AS ANY INSURANCE COMPANY FOR THE FOR-PROFIT INDUSTRY AROUND PPL's HEALTH. The absolute worst pharmacy I have ever experienced. If negative stars were an option I would choose that. Had an extreme asthma attack that almost landed me in the hospital and my PCP called in two medications at 11:30am. It's 4:30pm and the pharmacist has been straight up LYING saying my inhaler will be ready momentarily. It's been about 40 mins since my most recent call (to make sure they even have the medication at this point) and it's still not ready. I called to update my insurance on the phone TO HELP THEM and I was snapped at by the pharmacist and told I would have to come inside. Thats an absolute LIE - and after getting ready to hang up on the animal that spoke to me like that, he decided that since I don't have Medicaid, he can look into the insurance for me after all. Not sure how that has anything to do with anything, but I guess if you're broke they discriminate against Medicaid so beware. Aside from not being able to perform the basic responsibilities of their literal job, this pharmacy consistently has long wait times and is out of important prescriptions- making you drive all over creation to find a CVS with the medicine in stock. Corporate should honestly shut this dump down already, they're a disgrace to the CVS name. read more

Called in my prescription and was told it was ready to be picked up. I went the following morning and saw the window was closed - it had a sign stating that you must use Drive Up Window to pick up prescriptions. Of course there was a long line of cars - after waiting 20 minutes, I was told me prescription wasn't ready, that I need to get back on line. DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY, they do not care about their customers. I spent 15 minutes on hold to speak to manager, "Hannah" - she transferred me to another person, who tried to switch me back to "Hannah". DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. You can expect LONG wait times for any transaction. read more

My sister tested positive for strep so we came to pick up her prescription afterwards. Apparently they were closed from 1:20-2 pm for a "staff meeting." The staff were clearly not having a meeting so that was disappointing. We're on a trip so we really needed the antibiotic immediately so she would be better asap. We had to go waste a lot of time before coming back. We came back and there was a huge line that took nearly 20 minutes. It was ready when we got there but still pretty angry about the little "staff meeting." read more

I was calling for 2 hours to get a refill and noticed when I got in that the phone was saying 2 calls for pharmacy so I told the cashier that I was calling and no one answered and she said we are short and can't answer mind you I was the only one on the line so she told me to speak to the next person as I was talking to the pharmacist she told another worker if he doesn't like it he can go somewhere else very rude mind you we pay their salary will go to another Cvs where they are glad to see the customers I will give them a zero for customer service a politeness I'll get them zero I am very disappointed because I've been coming to Cvs for the last eight years won't come back. read more

On 7/6/2024, 4:32 pm, I went to the 2503 South Rd. Poughkeepsie pharmacy drive-through to pick up my prescription that was ready. The person at the window was Dolores. She did not ask me if I had any questions regarding my RX or mentioned there was no charge the way others do. I did explain that my PCP was different can could she please check the fax # if it was 462 (I only gave her the 1st 3 digits which would confirm the correct fax or not). It was several months that my PCP would state that she did not get a fax. I did request a change a few visits ago, but it was not done at that time, and I was told that it would be done later. All I wanted to do was check the 1s 3 digits. She was a liar and told me not to worry that when the time came, they would track her (my PCP) down and said goodbye, so I left. I am not able to get through on the phone and I should not have to make a separate trip in order to verify the new fax # so they can contact my PCP as part of their service. I am very disappointed in the lack of basic service and also in her lie to move me along. Terrible service from Dolores. I hope not to deal with her again. read more

This pharmacy cannot continue like this! I waited at the drive up window, during regular business hours and it wasn't lunch time. Finally someone came and said the window was closed I would have to come in. The line was all the way down the aisle, probably 40 people long and in the meantime they kept serving others who had just dropped off a prescription. After about 30 minutes I made it to the front only to be told that the meds I ordered were out of stock and I'd have to call around to other pharmacies! What?! The place is an absolute mess with meds on the floor, all over the place. They are WAY under staffed and overworked. They say they cant get workers, no kidding WHO would want to work there? I'm sure the poor workers are pulling their hair out and must go home crying. I need this medication, every month it's the same sad story. You'd think they'd realize, humm we have a patient on this maybe we should keep a back up? I even tried calling but of course, 'press 1, we can t hear you AI BS". I'm so angry. Tomorrow I have to find a new place. :( I just cant anymore. read more

I was just hung up on while being on hold 4 times (still on hold!) with this place. No, the app is not intuitive to use, half the scripts ask you to call to fill anyways (which is what I'm doing!) and my elderly mother has had to go in personally herself to fetch these scripts for my COPD stricken dad since asking seniors to use an app to "get delivery" is like asking termites to do calculus. Two stars for the benefit of the doubt that I'm sure they're overwhelmed, would be 1 star for efficiency and lack of solutions for those most at risk of getting corona virus! read more

They should just close this pharmacy. We wait hours for prescriptions. CVS just don't have conditions to have a high volume business.

This pharmacy is absolute trash. They have incompetent children working the drive thru and registers. They have no ability to find prescriptions and are more likely to just dismiss you and tell you they don't have it, then do any research to look for it. They'll tell you that your doctor "hasn't called it in" because they're too lazy to ask the pharmacist a question about it. If you're going to use the drive thru, you'll wait at least 20 minutes if not longer. If you try to go inside, it's the same person working the window and register so it takes just as long. Save yourself some time and energy having to track down your prescription and go elsewhere. read more

I have never had to wait too long for my prescriptions. I set my phone number up to the pharmacy, so whenever my medication is ready for pick-up, I receive a text message. I really like this communication and that could contribute to why others have longer wait times. As for the retail store, they are not the best. Anytime I present coupons at the register (I use coupons wherever possible), the cashier clearly becomes annoyed. Multiple times they've said that my coupon wasn't accepted, but could not explain why, so I asked them to try again, and it worked. This makes me think they never even tried it in the first place. Besides the coupons, I have never had a bad experience with any employees. read more

Staff is good at servicing people waiting in line (Opening 2 registers) I've had very few problems in using this pharmacy over the last 10 years The pharmacists go out of there way to advise you about your meds, to explain alternative meds if your insurance doesn't cover them or just in general. If you want to talk about side effects the pharmacists are on it My main problem is when you consult with the pharmacist you have little to no privacy 98% of the pharma techs are great to deal with. read more

This cvs pharmacy is one of the worst I've been too. I'm only reviewing the pharmacy part of it. Their pharmacist are rude and miserable and the techs are just... tired I guess. There's always a line and most of the time it takes forever to get through it because people are just inconsiderate and there's just one cashier there. I fill all of my scripts here and the only problems I've had was because of my insurance. For example, yesterday my doctor prescribed me a medication that isn't really popular so I got a text informing me it was on order. I really needed it asap so I called and the woman pharmacist told me she could send it over to another CVS for me. Then she double checked and there was only one in stock and she filled it for me right away. As far as wait times go, I've never really had too much of an issue. They have the convenience of a drive thru pharmacy PLUS they are helping customers inside of the store and making sure the instructions are clear and understood. I would be more concerned if they just rang people up to get the wait time down. Just have some patience with essential workers and the people trying to keep everyone healthy. read more

This could be lengthy but stay with it because I cant be the only one having this issue. 1st, I agree with the other posts about excessive wait times (pharmacy only) whether in the store or the drive through. Im talking 20 plus minutes on a Tuesday morning. But thats not the worst issue. I was told 6 weeks ago that my doctor's office and insurance company needed to coordinate and send CVS "prior authorizations" on 3 of my medications. Simple enough I thought. Sweet Jesus, I couldve gotten a bill through congress sooner. The dr and ins. co. both sent me the multiple dates that they sent these to CVS yet CVS claims they dont have it. To complicate it further, I called yesterday to see if they had them NOW and was told by the head pharmacist that they dont know and they cant tell me if they have the auths unless they fill the scripts. Now, 2 of these are considered control substances and they refuse to fill them until I have 1 day worth of medications left.....not a minute sooner. Last month we did this dance and because they couldnt get it together before my 1 day remaining supply ran out, I ended up paying full price for my meds. If I could afford to do that, I wouldnt bother with insurance. Now, this month....you guessed it.....they still dont have it and Im out of meds. Short of my dr hand delivering this, Im at a loss about what to do because my insurance co. says I have to use CVS. So, in my situation its a bit of a monopoly. Unbelievable incompetence. Inexcusable. If you can avoid CVS pharmacy, do so and run any other direction......its bound to be an improvement. read more

Staff was okay, things were easy to find, but i found a lot of items missing from the shelves.

I was here a few weeks ago when my younger brother needed to pickup a prescription. Although the store was clean and healthy and the people behind the prescription counter were friendly, it took them a little while to prepare(a much anticpated and well-expected wait). Everything turned out fine. But the thing I like best with this CVS over all others, is this CVS has a self-service purified water system(to dispense water to those requiring it) close to the pharmacy. I've never seen one like that before, ever in a CVS. Thanks CVS. Another intelligent save on my list. read more

Pharmacy at this location, CVS PHARMACY 2503 South Rd Poughkeepsie, NY is really unprofessional, rude, and difficult. I will NEVER fill my rxs there again. I am prescribed a controlled substance medicine for a disorder I have. Both times I went to fill, I was scrutinized heavily, and with no grounds to do so. I do not deserve to receive this type of treatment nor do I ever do anything illegal, but they certainly treated me like so. The first time, i was told by the tech that the pharmacist refused to fill my script because she said it was 2 days early. But the actual truth is that the brand of drug that was prescribed to me turned out to be a generic version with unequivalent inactive ingredients that my body was not able to tolerate. This was a new RX from THE SAME DR I was attempting to fill that was medically necessary. It was a med that I that I needed to take but heaven forbid you appear to be under 50 yrs old with an Rx that is scheduled, then they treat you like you've just committed the worst act imaginable. Even after that full and thorough explanation, she still refused to fill it, claiming that it was still too early and it did not matter, that the difference in the brands is not a reason to fill it, completely ignorant to the fact that while the generic equivalent might have congruent efficacy add far as the active ingredients, but the inactive ingredients may take from brand to brand, in which some may even be allergic to. Also accused me of Dr shopping!!! That one really confused me BC how on earth could I have been Dr shopping if it was the same Dr. who wrote both scripts? The staff was not polite about it, quite rotten, judgmental, and condescending, and offered no alternative. I left there livid. The second time I went to fill there and it was a very similar problem....scrutiny, judgment, and sheer BS. Never again.
