OK, I admit it, I'm not the biggest fan of CVS as a matter of fact, I'm not a fan at all. However, since I am forced to use them my conscience is clear regarding every lousy review that I've ever written with them in the crosshairs. To speed things up at the pharmacy counter my favorite drugstore has installed touch-screen kiosks that check you in and send the staff scurrying after your pills and potions. So far, no problem. However, for an enterprise that has aspirations to be the nations dominant health provider, the kiosks are filthy beyond belief. I've seen more hygiene displayed in the Penn Station men's room at 11pm after an AC/DC concert or... at the Wuhan Lab for that matter. Lucky for me, CVS has a greeting card aisle so I can send myself a Get Well Soon card. Yikes. One filthy star. read more

The CVS in Plainsboro is a total disgrace! They are an embarrassment to the pharmacies that actually have a clue and that care about their patients/customers. Overall, this place is a complete NO class dump - and that's being polite. There is a whole laundry list of things wrong with this place! They don't answer the phones, they don't call people back, they mess up people's prescriptions, and the two clowns they have running the pharmacy (Katchaul and Sung) are the most arrogant, smug, rude/disrespectful people who have absolutely no business being in a so called medical professional environment. CVS should be ashamed to hire people like this. This is exactly why they have such a high turnover of pharmacists, just completely and total incompetence in every way, shape and form. I also am including in this some of the techs that have extremely poor attitudes. The people in the front are the most pleasant to deal with in the store. Hire another pharmacist and remedy window phone/speaker deficiencies. People using phone at window cannot hear clearly .. or train them to write down name and birth date before keyboarding info. They are nice people and don't deserve taking ire directed at owner/you. There is a reason this CVS gets bad reviews, they are egregiously under staffed. The owner won't employ two pharmacists during the day and one working alone is next to impossible. Waiting times are increasing as local population grows. Window staff is always changing because they bare brunt of customer's frustrations. Long lines at window because of lengthy process ... "name... XXXX how do you spell that... XXXX how do you spell that again? XXXX Sorry, nothing's coming up. Birth date... XX/XX/XXXX spelling is different in system.. how do you spell it again? " They don't fix their own spelling errors. Love this pharmacy. Very welcoming environment and a convenient drive thru for pick up. I've been here for every need including all vaccinations and prescriptions. One day I had a helpful conversation with Lizzie at the concierge and since then I'm here for cosmetics, Covid test kits. Their minute clinic is a great concept as well. read more

I had severe cold/flu symptoms and went to CVS for a consultation on Friday, 7:30 PM. There were 3 folks working at the pharmacy area who were not the least bit attentive to customers. None of the three serviced the consultation line, worse didn't even make eye contact or provided any indication of when/if they would provide service. All staff members were moving at a snail's pace in whatever task they were performing. Moreover, the staff not working with customers had the audacity to look up and stare for an elongated time when a customer was paying for his/her prescriptions and had questions (as if watching a drama serial on tv)... then went back to looking down and barley moving. I waited for 15 min (with no indication if/when I would be serviced) before I decided to walk out. As a resident of Plainsboro it is very unfortunate to see such lack of professionalism and care in a town that is fraught with professional, suburban families. If you're looking for consultation services look elsewhere. For prescription drugs, a legal online pharmacist would be a much better experience (Pillpack). Don't subjugate yourself to such lack of professionalism and ingenuity (especially from a healthcare/pharma provider) when you're already suffering from a health ailment. read more

Based on the other reviews I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the crappy service. I've had a prescription sitting there for 2 days that's been "processing" with no updates. I've had awful experiences with this particular branch in the past, so I stopped going. That was a few years ago, and I decided to give them another chance. I figured they MUST have gotten their act together over the years. Shame on me for getting fooled twice! Ordered a script more than a week in advance and called them multiple times to make sure everything was going through ok knowing their history for screw-ups. They assured me they were working on it and to just keep checking back. This continued for days and days. Finally on the last day when I'm nearly out of my prescription, I call to get the story and the person tells me that it was entered incorrectly, that I would have to pay full market value, and that they're uncertain whether it will arrive the day I need it (also the day my current fill runs out). Now I'm searching for pharmacies across the state of NJ to find somebody who has a supply, and I got no contrition on their part. Please please please, if you have to fill scripts, stay the hell away from this pharmacy. So frustrated with this pharmacy. I will avoid at all costs. I kept giving it another chance because it is close and the hours are long but they consistently make mistakes, have unnecessarily long waits and are rude. They are surprisingly unprofessional as well. I was told I would get a text when my script was ready. There was a store full of people waiting but after 1 hour and 10 minutes I went up to the counter. When it wasn't ready the guy said they forgot to ask me for a new insurance card. So I ended up spending 2 hours waiting and got absolutely nowhere. One woman was nice and tried to help but regardless I still have to go back again and I don't have my medication. read more

Most incompetent pharmacy and staff. No professionalism demonstrated. I had to wait close to 8 days for them to order a medication that was approved and paid by my insurance. Each time I called, I received a different answer. Finally, on day 7, Dimitri the pharmacist said he would transfer the prescription to another CVS that had a partial of my refill and that he, himself, would deliver to the other CVS the remaining partial refill that he had in his store. Well, he never delivered on his promise and the other CVS didn't even have the correct amount to complete my refill. Absolutely the worst customer care I have ever experienced. I am reaching out to the NJ AG by filing a complaint against this CVS. Don't even think of going there to fill a prescription especially one that requires CVS to actually approve the store to order it - ludicrous! read more

Wide opening hours and better priced than the privately owned pharmacy nearby, good customer service, easy and free to park... I like the convenience to grab milk or cosmetics on my way out. I have been part of their free loyalty program. It was free and easy to park. read more

Finally switched my prescriptions from CVS to Plainsboro Pharmacy today. I definitely do not recommend this CVS. Especially if you rely on having monthly prescriptions filled. They have messed up in more of my prescriptions than they have gotten correct. Also, their public restroom was by far the most disgusting I've ever seen. The pharmacy is below par. I take a heart medication regularly for which my doctor has prescribed several refills lasting well into next year and I have confirmed with my insurance that they have coverage for this medication. Last month I was told that my refill wasn't ready as insurance has denied coverage and they have reached out to my doctor for a replacement. My doctor's office did not receive any such call however and when I called insurance I was told that CVS had filed the claim incorrectly. So to cover this up they blamed the doctor's office. When I called them the next day, they said everything was fine and my prescription was ready for pickup. This month, CVS again said my refill wasn't ready as they "had reached out to my doctor's office for confirmation"! I knew this was the same bs so I recounted my experience from last month to the head chemist (or so it seemed). She checked something on her screen and said my refill would be ready in a few minutes. My question is how can I trust this pharmacy on an ongoing basis with error free and timely refills my heart medications. read more

To be honest when I first moved to Plainsboro I never had any major problems with CVS but over time I've just had more and more problems with the pharmacy staff and the pharmacy in general. They are constantly misplacing my medications as well as the phyiscal prescription paper. They usually can find it but it is pretty annoying stopping in at the designated pick up time and being told that they have no record of me dropping off that certain prescription, then going back home to call my doctor and calling the pharmacy again just to get a phone call saying "oh, we located your prescription, we aren't sure what happened" This has happened at least 6-8 times which is too many in my opinion. Luckily they have opened up another CVS location 5 miles away on Hightstown Rd. in west windsor which is where I am taking my prescriptions from now on. read more

EDITED TO ADD: After writing this review, we began sending our prescriptions to Plainsboro Pharmacy - the small local pharmacy literally across the street from CVS. What a difference! No wait times, personal service, and most importantly - sharp people that actually listen to what you need and help you figure out what to do if something isn't right. If a prescription doesn't make sense, they take proactive steps to figure it out - calling you, or calling your doctor. What a breath of fresh air!! --- The front store of this CVS is fine. The people are pretty helpful and the store is generally neat and well organized. The pharmacy is abysmal. I've never seen such a poorly run location! Every single time I have gotten a prescription filled in the past 5 years, they have screwed it up. Literally. Every. Single. Time. I'm pretty sure that there is a total of 50 years worth of advanced degrees standing behind that counter, but you wouldn't know it from the blank stares, mistakes and inability to problem solve that you encounter. When you walk up to the counter, look around you - you'll be surrounded by the haggard faces of other patients with Stockholm Syndrome - too weary to even protest the failures of this pharmacy any longer. They lose prescriptions, and never have them filled when they commit to doing so. Sometimes they initiate a refill that you never requested. It sounds like they are notorious for this poor organization, because the last time I was sick and visited my doctor's office, the Doctor spent time explaining exactly how they were going to be transmitting my prescriptions, because "The CVS in Plainsboro will inevitably screw it up, and [I] would need to explain it to them." Is it apathy? Incompetence? Is it such a horrible place to work that pharmacists can't care about doing their jobs well? I have no idea. Either way, avoid this pharmacy like the plague. read more

CVS is a typical pharmacy with everything you need but the prices are slightly more than other convenience stores. Even for the pharmacy (for meds), I prefer Walgreens - much nicer and helpful friendly staff that never judge you. Service: 1/10 The staff here though is rude and actually pretty stupid. And I mean extremely stupid. I went in and paid $10.50 for a dollar candy bar and he registered it as me only paying 50 cents. Then the kid sits there and can't figure out how to void it and so he digs out a calculator which takes 5 minutes and sits there trying to subtract ONE dollar from TEN. You can do it on your fingers for crying out loud. And instead of doing the math he's sitting there talking to the other cashier about how the day is long and blah blah blah - DO YOUR JOB please and just check me out so I can be on my merry way! I very rarely if ever have a positive experience with this CVS pharmacy. I like the convenience of their hours & having a drive thru but this location has very unfriendly staff and frequently make errors. I have given it a few chances but I am no longer filling my prescriptions here. I waited in line for over a half hour at the drive thru before I even reached the window to hit the button for service. They barely acknowledged me and it was another 10-15 minutes before they actually helped me. No apologies for the wait. Not even friendly service. I usually go inside to the pharmacy which isn't any better. They've made mistakes with my prescriptions before and don't apologize or try to help fix it. I've witnessed this with other customers while I was there as well. I'm a very laid back person but it's a frustrating experience 9 out of 10 times. read more

I HATE dealing with the pharmacy at this store. If you're picking up a prescription on your lunch hour, plan to spend your ENTIRE HOUR waiting, being ignored, overcharged, and/or arguing with the cashiers/pharmacy assistants-- especially the middle-aged woman in glasses with tons of pins on her dirty lab coat. I'm going to start billing them for my time and aggravation. My prescription is usually accurate. That said, even though there are a thousand people working back there, 1. My script is hardly EVER ready when they promise it. 2. Half the time, there's a 5 to 7 person line. The cashiers/pharmacy assistants DO NOT and will not hustle. 3. And they're rude and distant. Every time. 4. The other half of the time, there's no one in line and I stand at the counter shouting, Excuse me! Excuse me! The cashiers/pharmacy assistants look in my direction, but do not respond. Once, I stood at the counter for over 8 minutes before being acknowledged. 5. Once a cashier/pharmacy assistant kept cancelling my debit card payment, but insisted that I was cancelling it with the pin pad. The line behind me continued to grow. So I swiped my card again, and he turned the pin pad toward him and clicked through the agreements, email spam acceptance page, and acceptance of charge page. He also charged me for 4 prescriptions instead of one. Then I had to wait in line (again) at the front of the store to fix the duplicate charges. 6. I could go on, but you get the idea. read more

THE RUDEST pharmacy staff I've ever dealt with. I would not recommend this pharmacy to anyone. Please stay away from this pharmacy, they are so dumb that they haven't even cared to inform me that doctor has prescribed me 2 drugs and they just gave me one. When I went back and asked why they haven't given me 2 prescribed drugs, their answer was " Your insurance is not covered and we dint mention". If my insurance doesn't cover, isn't their responsibility to mention that to me...So rude and stupid. Please try to avoid this CVS pharmacy if you can!! CVS over charges. Not only on generic prescriptions but also on the flu shot When I had insurance they told me flue shot would be $25 I went to Walgreens it was free. Generic medication they tried charging me $234. My inhaler they did charge me $168 Across the street same prescription $19.99 and $66 I will be contacting not only the insurance companies, but the local news stations to spread the word. Went to pick up a script when I had already called the pharmacy to make sure they had it. I was not advised they needed an updated insurance card when I came. I went through the the drive through and this woman was nasty from the beginning. The script was for my boyfriend. We both have the same insurance so I offered to give my card and she can find the rest of the information out. She shut me down right away. Go home, pick up the card, go back. Now it's 5:05 as I'm walking up to the register. The same woman from the drive though just finished ringing up a customer and says very sternly, "WERE CLOSED MA'AM!" I reminded her she just sent me to get an insurance card because she didn't want to help me 10 minutes ago. She made up some excuse not to serve me. I told her she was lying and full of it and left. Next day I come back with the insurance card. A guy helps me (very nice - just didn't care enough to make sure I was taken care of) he told me 5 minutes as he updated the insurance. I allowed 20 minutes before I said something. He said he's been done with it! This pharmacy sucks! Most of the people either don't know what their doing, they don't care, or they are just nasty! I will be going to another pharmacy. I'm a quality control manager for a call center so it comes natural to me to critique when I deal with other customer service. This.. would've been an auto fail many times over. The best part is when the guy who forgot about me finally rung me up I mentioned that my frustration started yesterday with cvs. Didn't care enough to ask what happened. This is the WORST run pharmacy ever! They call with recorded messages that your prescription is ready and when you get there and wait 20-30 minutes for assistance, you find out they have no record of it! Happens all of the time. Today it happened and once they confirmed that the doctor did in fact call it in and they just never filled it, they told me to come back later because they were too busy. As I was driving away I get a robo call from them that my prescription was ready for a refill and to press one to refill. Huge issues all around! Go somewhere else! Super slow and really atrocious service all around. If you are a very busy pharmacy, staff yourselves accordingly and not have two reps when lines are usually at least 10 deep! read more

Dont bother coming in half an hour before they close. The ladies at the pharmacy will watch you come in but stand far enough away to not serve you and then when they know it's to late to do their job they'll let you know they can't do a 3 minute job in the time they have left though they could've done it 10 times while you stood there without a line watching them stand around. read more

I had a scheduled appointment for a flu shot. I arrived early and checked in to be told I had a 38 minute wait time (walk in wait time was 40 minutes). After waiting for 30 minutes, I go back and check to see that my wait time is still 30 more minutes. Never going back. read more

I have been a resident of Plainsboro for quite sometime and one place I will absolutely NOT RECOMMEND going to is CVS Pharmacy. The attitude of the staff in general is negative. The tone and manner in which the pharmacy staff talk to customers sucks!! Ha, What customer service? There is none. One incident I can clearly describe is when my doctor was awaiting a call from them for almost an entire day to send in a prescription. I called them several times reminding them to call, it was useless. They seem to have a staff of 20 people, who are always confused. Across the road Superfresh Pharmacy is staffed with 1 person who does the job of 20 people with great customer service. I will recommend going there instead. read more

I guess they just aren't bad enough to force me to drive to target or wegmans or rite aid. the location is so convenient I put up with their complete incompetence in getting things done in an accurate or timely manner.
