I rate the pharmacy as 5 stars and the retail store as 3 stars, so my average rating is 4 stars…read more As you probably already know, Rite Aid is a drugstore chain that has thousands of stores across many states. I wanted to schedule an appointment for my husband and me to get our vaccines for influenza and COVID-19, and this particular Rite Aid pharmacy had appointments available. Several days in advance, I made the appointments online for a Friday evening. On that Friday, my husband and I approached the pharmacy in the back of the store. A pharmacy technician immediately greeted us and took our insurance and vaccine cards. While the employees were filling other customers' prescriptions, my husband and I walked around the store. The shelves contained products such as over-the-counter medications, cosmetics, holiday decorations, hygiene products, snack foods, pet supplies, etcetera. I thought that the products had regular to high prices. For example, one haircare product had a price that was roughly twice what Target charges! About 20 minutes later, the pharmacist administered the vaccines to my husband and me. She performed the injections well, and she gave us literature about the uses and possible side effects of the vaccines as well as literature about physical activity and vegetables. At the end, she thanked us and returned our insurance and vaccine cards.

The pharmacy clerk is impatient and loudly asks for personal information. Store practices NO social…read moredistancing !!!! Employees would stand directly beside me so to re-shelve. Guess getting Covid19 from a symptom free employee is less important than re-stocking packs of gum. The last time I visited this store the pharmacist was rude when I asked if they had a rest room and sent me to the other side of the strip mall to a LOCKED bathroom. When I returned and told the pharmacist it was locked, she said the store didn't have a key and that I ought to ask someone in the beauty parlor for one. Meanwhile, the store has it's own bathroom.... Miserable shopping experience twice in a row....

Who would have thought being flu season that there is a run on high dose flu shots! After visiting…read moremy neighborhood CVS pharmacy I inquired about the shot and learned that although they have the regular flu shot they were out of stock of the high dose one. The high dose flu shot is for people 65 and older and is covered by many health insurances because of age. I decided to call this location and sure enough they had just got two boxes of them in. I was planning on waiting until October to get mine but I thought I better not chance it. I drove over to this location which sits at a major intersection in McKees Rocks. I registered at the pharmacy and was told to wait until the private flu shot administration room had emptied out. After the people before me left a nice man named Dan was on hand to administer the vaccine. He told me that even though they had gotten a shipment in they were almost all out of them due to heavy demand. I was grateful to not only get the vaccine but also the age appropriate one. This CVS is one of the larger ones that service our area. The store is very clean and has a "minute clinic" if you need medical attention for certain criteria. Like all CVS, they honor the extracare card which will give you discounts and bounce back coupons at the register. Expect to pay more here than at your regular grocery store but that is the norm of all pharmacy stores. I was fortunate to find antibacterial hand soap which has been missing in the stores for a long time. It comes in a large bottle which you can section off for everyday use. They do have a drive through. They also do passport photos and will print photos if you wish to pick them up. In addition to home goods there is a limited supply of grocery items for sale and well as refrigerated items and business and medical items. Co-Vid 19 policies are in effect and they require masks. Sanitation is also done to insure safety. This location has a larger selection than the one I frequent so I may stop in here now and then whenever I'm looking for something that I can't find at my store.

For the second time in a week, I arrived for a vaccination and it was all screwed up. Last time…read morethey had no record of my online appointment saying the system wasn't working properly. I had documentation of the appointment. Today I was set up for another vaccination, and when I arrived they said they ran out the vaccine three days ago but didn't notify anybody because " the system " is a problem." My system is working. I'm going elsewhere
