I felt happy that this CVS had the Moderna vaccine in stock as opposed to the Pfizer vaccine. I also felt happy that this CVS had many times available for my appointment, so I could choose a time that fit my husband's work schedule. In the days prior to our appointment, CVS sent text messages and emails to remind us of the day and time. Upon our arrival, we checked in via a link that had been texted to us. The two employees at the pharmacy promptly and politely greeted us, looked us up in their computers, and prepared our vaccines. They asked us if we also wanted to receive the flu shot, and I agreed to receive it. The pharmacist did a great job with injecting both the COVID-19 and flu vaccines.

After visiting…read moremy neighborhood CVS pharmacy I inquired about the shot and learned that although they have the regular flu shot they were out of stock of the high dose one. The high dose flu shot is for people 65 and older and is covered by many health insurances because of age. I decided to call this location and sure enough they had just got two boxes of them in. I was planning on waiting until October to get mine but I thought I better not chance it. I drove over to this location which sits at a major intersection in McKees Rocks. I registered at the pharmacy and was told to wait until the private flu shot administration room had emptied out. After the people before me left a nice man named Dan was on hand to administer the vaccine. He told me that even though they had gotten a shipment in they were almost all out of them due to heavy demand. I was grateful to not only get the vaccine but also the age appropriate one. This CVS is one of the larger ones that service our area. The store is very clean and has a "minute clinic" if you need medical attention for certain criteria. Like all CVS, they honor the extracare card which will give you discounts and bounce back coupons at the register. Expect to pay more here than at your regular grocery store but that is the norm of all pharmacy stores. I was fortunate to find antibacterial hand soap which has been missing in the stores for a long time. It comes in a large bottle which you can section off for everyday use. They do have a drive through. They also do passport photos and will print photos if you wish to pick them up. In addition to home goods there is a limited supply of grocery items for sale and well as refrigerated items and business and medical items. Co-Vid 19 policies are in effect and they require masks. Sanitation is also done to insure safety. This location has a larger selection than the one I frequent so I may stop in here now and then whenever I'm looking for something that I can't find at my store.

When my out of state doctor called in the prescription they automatically picked up my new insurance and set everything up. The service was excellent and the prescriptions where exactly what was ordered. This CVS is my goto pharmacy. I have never waited so long for a prescription at any other location. In addition, staff kept telling me it would only be a few more minutes, so I kept waiting instead of getting my other shopping done. The store is always very clean and well-lit and they have a nice assortment of other items like cards and snacks and stuff. I like that you can enter your phone number for your perks card when you're checking out instead of having to scan a card which I never remember to take with me. There's plenty of free parking too.
