I rate the pharmacy as 5 stars and the retail store as 3 stars, so my average rating is 4 stars…read more As you probably already know, Rite Aid is a drugstore chain that has thousands of stores across many states. I wanted to schedule an appointment for my husband and me to get our vaccines for influenza and COVID-19, and this particular Rite Aid pharmacy had appointments available. Several days in advance, I made the appointments online for a Friday evening. On that Friday, my husband and I approached the pharmacy in the back of the store. A pharmacy technician immediately greeted us and took our insurance and vaccine cards. While the employees were filling other customers' prescriptions, my husband and I walked around the store. The shelves contained products such as over-the-counter medications, cosmetics, holiday decorations, hygiene products, snack foods, pet supplies, etcetera. I thought that the products had regular to high prices. For example, one haircare product had a price that was roughly twice what Target charges! About 20 minutes later, the pharmacist administered the vaccines to my husband and me. She performed the injections well, and she gave us literature about the uses and possible side effects of the vaccines as well as literature about physical activity and vegetables. At the end, she thanked us and returned our insurance and vaccine cards.

The pharmacy clerk is impatient and loudly asks for personal information. Store practices NO social…read moredistancing !!!! Employees would stand directly beside me so to re-shelve. Guess getting Covid19 from a symptom free employee is less important than re-stocking packs of gum. The last time I visited this store the pharmacist was rude when I asked if they had a rest room and sent me to the other side of the strip mall to a LOCKED bathroom. When I returned and told the pharmacist it was locked, she said the store didn't have a key and that I ought to ask someone in the beauty parlor for one. Meanwhile, the store has it's own bathroom.... Miserable shopping experience twice in a row....

Not what is to be expected in a Rite Aid or the Lawrenceville neighborhood…read more I was staying at the TRYP recently and I walked over to get some items, snacks and drinks. The parking lot was empty, but there were a couple of shady individuals sitting in their cars doing business if you know what I mean, so be careful. The employee who was working the register was not welcoming or helpful and when I did ask her for something she literally said, I have no idea and looked back down at her phone. Smh! I did find what I was looking for without the help of anyone working. This store is crappy in my opinion and I will not be going back, no matter what. There could definitely be something else more appealing and helpful in this location considering the size of the lot and the amazing area, but from the crappiness of the exterior, interior and the employees with bad attitudes, zero personalities and no willingness to help, I'd say that will be in the near future.

The pro of this Rite Aid is it's super easy to get a flu or COVID shot. There's always availability…read moreand they are generally super fast and way more professional than other pharmacies around Pittsburgh. There are private rooms with closed doors to get your shot, no dinky curtain in the middle of a lobby. The staff here seems less stressed than aforementioned other pharmacies. As long as I'm getting vaccines in Pittsburgh, I'll go here. The only con with this store is it takes slogging through a 1 minute and 30 second automated prompt to get someone on the phone in the pharmacy. If no one answers, they loop you back through the prompts rather than giving you the option to leave a voicemail, text or call back. It's a frustrating customer service experience for sure but nothing earth shattering. They make a note that they're closed during lunch but give you no other options if no one answers your call. I ended up having to talk to someone in the general store in order to get through to the pharmacy. I think they could make this a better process for sure!
