I just moved my prescription's from this store. I went in the afternoon and they were closing for lunch. I came back later in the day and they were closed for end of day. I can go down the street and I do not have lunch hours, end of day at 6 PM, etc. I do not want the pharmacists to work more hours; CVS needs to employ a few more pharmacists and just stay open when people can make it. Their self checkout has a lot of issues with only one working. They should also set up a distinct line for the kiosks only, because right now some people think everyone has to stay in one line for both the front cashier and self checkout, which is not a good use of anyone's time. Paper bags at each kiosk are helpful too. Plus, their front automatic doors have been out of service for a while now. This CVS is falling apart. Finally, they need to restock on a lot of items inside. The only positive is the parking lot. Very inept pharmacy and phone system. First, I shouldn't have to provide personal information to a robot so that I can to talk to a human. This is the phone robot of a retail store, not my credit card company. In fact, even if you do enter the information, you do not get to speak to anyone. You have to leave a message? So I left a message asking if my UPMC insurance works for their pharmacy and how much it would be without insurance if they don't "before I drive all the way to this location." (It was the holiday and so many pharmacies have to be open in so much of a radius, so my normal spots were not open.) I got a call an hour later (that went straight to voicemail somehow). All the message said was "yes, we're open until 6 p.m." Yes, what? I never even asked what time they were open? What kind of response is this? It didn't answer my questions. Guess what? Not only does UPMC NOT work at CVS, but no one told me they had a lunch break. So I drive 20 minutes sick and end up having to wait 15 minutes in the store. All they had to say for their message was "the clerk must not have known." Wow. What kind of healthcare is this? Good grief. I will never go to a CVS, even if it's the last drug store on Earth. Holiday or not, these are people we are trusting with our lives. Scary. read more

Checked their website to ensure they accept my insurance. Had an appointment scheduled nearly a week in advanced. Was present and checked in for the appointment 20 mins prior to scheduled time. There were 4 people already waiting. Waited 2 hours to be seen, only for the provider to tell me they are unsure if my insurance is accepted or not and couldn't provide clarification. They allow their walk-in appointments to trump scheduled appointments which contributes to the extremely long wait times. A few people ended up needing to leave and therefore missed their appointment. I personally had to reschedule my entire day. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

They deserve a negative 5 starts!!! I went to CVS minute clinic at Monroeville, PA location on Tuesday, June 17,2025 at approximately 10:30 am.. I signed in on the kiosk and there was no one there so they said they could take me. I proceeded to state why I was there, fever, urge to urinate, dizzy, weak, need to go, pink when I wiped. I was really sick, dizzy, weak and shaky. They gave me a cup in a white paper bag with antiseptic wipes and said to wipe and provide a sample for them to review. I did. I did not flush the toilet. I wiped the collection jar off and put it in the bag and handed the bag to the nurse. I turned around to sit on the bench and the nurse Shannon pulled out an unopened and sealed jar and said, "you didn't do the test". I said, "yes I did, come with me I'll show you because I did not flush." She kept arguing with me that I didn't. She did not follow me to the bathroom. I went to bathroom and came back and she produced a white bag with my collection cup and said she found it. How could she lose it when I handed her the bag. She then proceeded to ask me what year it is, what my name is etc. I stated to her, "that I did urinate in the cup." She then pulls out the bag with my "sample" in it when I came back from the bathroom. However, she still kept asking me what my name was and other current questions, even though she had my sample all along, I was so disgusted by this point I said my name was "Zelda Smith". She produced my sample but was still asking me questions. I really didn't know what she was doing. Then they took my vitals, everything was pretty normal. Then they asked me about back pain, I said nothing too bad but I live with back pain from disc's. The other nurse, Destiny proceeded to pound on my back really hard, I mean with a fist and really hard. I am not an obese person so it hurt like heck when she was done punching my back. Should you pound on a persons back with a UTI??? I feel they were gaslighting me in regard to my "sample" which is really out of line. They only gave me 7 days of antibiotic, when protocol is 10 to14 days. The service I received was totally inept and detrimental to my health. Had I not had access to more antibiotic I would have ended up in the hospital. I was very sick with this UTI, sicker than I have ever been in my life. For them to try to make me think I did not give a sample is just crazy. I actually handed her the sample cup in her hand, so how did another bag get in her hand when I turned around for a second. This is really a wrong thing to do. I was told when I called to see how much the appointment cost that it would cost $139.00. Now the bill is $180. That is bait and switch...illegal. That's the only reason I went there because I do not have insurance and I was quoted a price of $139.00. When I got there I was told there was a range. Why a range, I was told $139. And believe me, with the service I received, you should be paying me. They took a urine sample, read it( took 10 seconds) and said they would send it to the lab. She said elevated white blood cell count, blood in sample, urine was cloudy and had a bad smell. I was told after that they would charge me $160.00. And there is a separate fee for the lab. That is absurd. They never gave me any paperwork.on June 27, 2025. I went back for the paperwork a couple days later and a different woman told me the lab work was negative. I do not believe that for a second. I don't think they sent it to the lab and if they did it was not my sample. I am not paying for this horrible and abusive service. I was abused both physically and mentally by these 2 nurses. I tried to pay with my credit card and they said that their machines are not accepting cards at this time and they will bill me. I am not paying for this horrible horrible debacle. ADDITIONALLY YOU CAN NOT GET AHOLD OF ANYBODY AT THE MANAGERIAL LEVEL. YOU CAN NOT GET A NAME, PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL ADDRESS...NOTHING. THEY SAY MINUTE CLINIC IS OWNED BY CVS, IF YOU CALL CVS TO FIND A PERSON TO COMPLAIN TO THEY SAY IT IS A MINUTE CLINIC ISSUE...I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. This CVS is much like many other CVSes. Things are pretty overpriced, but this location is usually clean and well-stocked. The 24 hour pharmacy is convenient, although the pharmacy staff seems to be spread pretty thing -- they've definitely been curt with me on more than one occasion for requesting pretty ordinary things like asking them to contact my Dr.'s office to renew a prescription. If you are a late-night CVS-goer, be aware that the self checkouts go offline around 2:30am and need to be reset, so you're better off going to the counter if you're on a 3am snack run. read more

I went today to pick up my medication as my app has shown it's been ready for pickup for a few days. I get there and was told by the tech that they have no prescription for that medication on file for me...funny because I've been filling that medication and using that same prescription since June at that very location. I show the tech my app showing the rx is ready for pick up at the 4610 centre ave location. Then she changes tune and says oh it'll be ready for pickup in 20 minutes. So 30 seconds ago you had no rx and couldn't help me but now magically you have that rx and it'll be ready in 20 minutes? You can't dispense a medication without a prescription so why now all of a sudden is it able to be prepared? No apology from the tech or anything. Unfortunately I didn't have time to wait even longer and due to the holidays I will now be OUT OF MEDICATION. no wonder CVS's stock has been tanking. they don't care that they're wrong or that the patient will be out of medication over the holidays read more

They made an appointment to give 2 of us Covid vaccines, told us that they had the vaccine in stock when we called to confirm, kept us waiting 45 minutes in line, then told us that they had overbooked and ran out of vaccine. Customer service is unacceptable. read more

This place deserves 0 stars. I called in with my insurance and was connected to the MinuteClinic. My wife had an appointment with them and they erroneously billed it as the service area was in Maine. 2 employees said they didn't know anything about billing and they transferred me to Anthony who they said was a manager. I've never dealt with someone so unprofessional and incompetent in my life. I asked if he worked in the minute clinic and he said he didn't. I explained we called the minute clinic to figure out how to correct the billing for my claim. Anthony decided to interrupt me and rudely say "I said I don't work for the minute clinic". I explained that I heard him the first time and if he didn't interrupt me I could finish my sentence on what I was trying to get accomplished. All I wanted was the number to billing for the minute clinic and I tried saying it was odd that nobody in that department knew the right number for billing. He once again interrupted to say he doesn't work at the minute clinic and when I asked him to let me finish my sentence his ego couldn't take the blow and he hung up. i use cvs alot to purchase items that i need for myself food,and hair suppliesand household items with the discount card. i was manulpated by the government robert wilson to purchase some gift cards so he can fix his files. realizing he was using me i went to returned them and i hadd the receipt. they wouldn't return them so i'm out of money. they do not have no sign up saying no return. then they tell me to call the crd custmor service. i called custmor sevice they say they can not return it ecause i id not puchase from there company so i have a google play card ,i can not use.so i think i'm going to call ther corpate office to see if i can get a better result.theresa carroll indepent. read more

Wow, to walk into a place and it still smells like new, such an odd occurrence in this neighborhood. I'm still baffled as why this store relocated only two blocks away? But for what it's worth, they really did improve on the store experience in this neck of Oakland. Now 24 hours and with a drive thru pharmacy. The parking lot has ample spaces even if it is a bit harsh to figure out the best way to access this place. Inside, like I said is brand new, it has that new carpet smell still going on. It is bright and big. From the outside they have this illusion going on as if it is a two story building, but it's really only one story with a very high ceiling. Pharmacy has separate hours from the store, expected. But I believe there is someone staffed there in case you need to grab a OTC medication that is stored in that area. Self checkouts in the front, for an easy in and out experience. read more

So our daughter has the flu. Children's called the prescription (Tamiflu) in your this CVS. I arrive to find out they do not have it in stock. The lazy woman at the counter tells me to go to Rite Aid and have them call her and she'll transfer the prescription. I ask, can you call it in for me since we're here now and to make sure they have it. She says no i can't call. That's it. No explanation at all. Which Rite Aid didn't have it either. So we go to Giant Eagle. The pharmacy says yes they have it and called CVS 15x while we were standing there with CVS not answering. 2 hrs of not answering!! I fly back to CVS I can here the speaker saying "pharmacy 3 calls" Both woman are standing there with attitudes. They were tremendously rude, lazy, and flat out ignorant to everyone there! You woman that worked 3-10-2020 are terrible people. A medicine that the Dr. Told us to get right away because the longer we wait the more of a chance it's gonna have bad side effects. Now my poor 15 month old baby is the one suffering due to pure laziness. You are terrible at your job and I'm very disappointed that people have to depend on you! ..aint nobody got time for this slow as* pharmacy, lol. I had a severe allergic reaction going on and went to the ER. I was given steroids and a few allergy prescriptions. Normally I head to the Rite Aid by my house (small pharmacy.. everything is always ready In 10 minutes). for whatever reason my bf suggested we go here. We used to live nearby and maybe he just wanted to re-live it.. whatever. I drop my prescriptions off at the drive thru. the lady says It will take 30 minutes. I was upset but also hungry, so we decided by the time we went and grabbed food, it would be ready. I got a text from them about 30 minutes later saying it was ready. I go to pick up my stuff via drive thru and the lady says it will be another 15 minutes! what the f. meanwhile im in pain, itchy as ever and just spent an hour at the ER. anyways this store is fine but avoid pharmacy. there are a ton of college kids and young families.. pharmacy is always backed up. read more

I can't speak to the pharmacy aspect of this CVS, but the store aspect is pretty extensive. They carry food, holiday items, cards, makeup, stationary, and everything else you'd expect to find at a pharmacy, but their selection seems wider and more varied than at most pharmacies. Also, they're open 24 hours, which is quite convenient. Prices are on par with what you'd expect for a drugstore. The employees are generally pretty nice and helpful--though there is often a paucity of them at the check out. They've used their card so I could get a discount when I misplaced mine, and last Fri., they let me select two different types of candy for the buy one, get one for 25 cents deal that's currently going on, even though I suspect it's supposed to be for the same type of candy. (They often have deals on the candy up front, I've noticed.) I live a block away from here, and it's a more convenient alternative than going all the way to the Market District if I forget an item, and a safer alternative than the Sunoco on Craig. However, if it's open, I check the Dollar General a block up Centre before here, since some products can be found more cheaply there. read more

The people who work here are really nice. And the store is brand new. It's one of the largest CVSs that I've ever been to but has one of the smallest staffs I have ever seen. I used to go to a CVS near Purdue University and their pharmacy staff was usually around 8-12 people to service the counter and drive-through. This one has between 2 and 3 and there's always a wait. read more

This store is clean, well stocked, delightful management, happy staff, helpful staff, and an all around pleasurable retailer to have in the neighborhood. If in Oakland and choosing between this CVS & the Forbes Ave location- go to the Centre store. Upon entering the Centre Ave store, I am treated with respect and kindness. Staff makes eye contact and asks if I need assistance. Management speaks to staff and customers at a regular volume of voice and is patient. I have never seen the managers at this location make anyone cry! The managers here are so nice and so are the employees. The pharmacy staff is excellent. I asked for help finding a vitamin and the pharmacist came from behind the counter to help me w my selection. This is now my go to CVS read more

There are two CVS's in the area (the other is on Forbes Avenue), and personally, I prefer this location. It's larger, cleaner, and provides more parking. Like the other location, this one provides self-checkout stations as well as cashier stations, however they don't try to force you to use the self-checkout like the CVS on Forbes. I misplaced a receipt that I needed for work, and the manager searched (probably for an hour) to find my purchase on one of the computers to provide me another receipt. Kudos to this gentleman because I know he had way better, more important things to do! Long time customer. Friend lives right across the street. But I committed the cardinal sin of leaving my car in their empty parking lot for all of 15 minutes while I also went to the shop next door and they were about to tow my car. The tow trucker driver extorted me out of $250 even though they hadn't even properly hooked my car to the truck. The manager was an unhelpful ass who wouldn't listen to anything I said. Of course on planet earth, most people don't re-park their cars when going to two stores right next to each other, but on planet CVS, aka "let's get as much money as possible from this sucker" apparently towing your car when you walk 20 yards away is a reasonable thing. I am completely pissed by this CVS cashier for not offering to replace some chips somebody stole when I forgot them at the store despite remembering me and signing me up for a card when I purchased them. Because I was there to fill a prescription, I bought some chips while waiting for the prescription to get filled. The pharmacy tech I had was great while this cashier, who literally remembered me buying the chips when I asked about someone who might have turned them in, asked her coworker, she started to say the amount and for some reason stopped herself and acted like she didn't know how many I bought and didn't even offer to replace them when I came back not even two hours after realizing I didn't have them. Ridiculous, I'm never going to buy snacks here again because of this. And for future prescriptions I can just go to Rite Aid since they've never done that to me before. read more

This place soem of the staff are friendly do not get me wrong. The way the employees are treated by the the so called store manager is outrageous. He is a disposable store manager and the way he treats people is just a shame. He took one employee not mention any names he was a store manager in training did not train the man half right to begin with, then through ended his training three months early through him into a a store that was basically falling down. When the employee in question needed help and wanted to leave and get the training they coviended him to stay said they would help and all. After a month of not giving him help because another store manager in training sucked up to the other one they tried to remove the other employee and put him back in training when he was a good manager anyway they just play favoritism and the store manager is a pathetic human being not to mention a worthless manager and then throwing there employees and using them bedside your to lazy to actually do the work and you are not at your own store half the time just running around to kiss up to HR is a shame. This employee had a heart of gold he is a very a good man . I beg anyone he wants to shop there please do not go go to another CVS where they treat there employees with respect. I will keep posting about this place on other places as well because I feel like people who shope there support that behavior and that's not the way it should be. I know a bunch of folks who are quitting and not going back because of how the employees are treated. Try another pharmacy that wants your business. I made a special trip there this morning to transfer my prescriptions to this pharmacy. There were no customers in the entire store at 7:30 AM. The pharmacist couldn't take time out from chitchat with another employee to accept transfer of prescriptions. I'm going to keep my prescriptions where they are after all. Too bad, this pharmacy is in a much more convenient location for me. BTW, the store part is excellent and the store staff are friendly and helpful. The pharmacy seems disorganized. Retail clerks are nearly nonexistent. They want to force everyone to use the self-service checkout machines, but some of these machines don't even work. In general I like CVS, but this store is terrible. I've been in here maybe six times and each time the experience is roughly the same. My experience with this store was awful. called ahead on a warm and humid day to find out if an item was in stock. I was told that it was available and walked several blocks to CVS to purchase the item. Not only was it not on the shelf, but the item is not even sold at CVS. No apology given. This is solely for the pharmacy, because I've had nothing but good experiences from the front of the store. Now I've always had good experiences with the pharmacy, back when they were located a little further down Centre Ave. When I had questions about certain medications, the one male pharmacist (whose name I can't remember but I know he graduated from Duquesne University...he's at the new location as well) always took the time to answer my questions. Well...I traveled back home for the holidays, and on Christmas Eve evening I felt terrible. Sneezing, watery eyes, congestion...all of the above. I wasn't sure if CVS was open, so I called. FYI - they are open 24 hrs on Christmas eve and Christmas. Anyway, before I left I did some research online to see what medication I could take for my symptoms. Because I'm currently pregnant as well, I wanted to get confirmation from the pharmacist that the meds I selected was ok. I grabbed some OTC meds and went straight to the pharmacy. There were two people ahead of me, but I wasn't in a rush. Then I asked the pharmacist, a female that I've never seen before, and told her that I was pregnant and wanted to make sure I could take it. She cut me off and told me that she couldn't provide any answers and that I needed to contact my doctor. I just looked at her...on Christmas eve? Then she told me that they should have a 800 number that I could call. By that time I was fed up. I waited in line for her just to blow me off...I mean, I could understand her position maybe (but I've never had any issues with the pharmacists in DC or VA), but the way that she just stopped me short and told me that since she didn't know anything about my pregnancy she couldn't answer anything. Like I couldn't stand there and answer her questions. But like I said, she didn't want to deal with my question. So I bought the meds anyway and went home. Before I took them I called my insurance's nurse line which specializes in pregnancy (and which I forgot all about) and they provided me the info I needed. But as far as the pharmacy goes...no, I don't recommend. Hopefully this was because it was Christmas eve. But that pharmacist had a bad attitude which I didn't care for. read more

This pharmacy is exactly what it should be! It is a national chain, so if you're on vacation and you run out of your prescription, you can pick it up at any other CVS with a quick transfer. Sure, you are not going to receive the consultation that you would receive with a community pharmacy, but all I need is a pharmacy that will get prescriptions ready whenever I need them. They does just that very well here. The staff are always very nice too, rushed, but still nice. read more

This CVS is brand new and very nice and clean and carries a lot of merchandise: food, beverages, cosmetics and more. The pharmacy however has always been lacking. The pharmacists are unhelpful and both times I've gone they haven't carried amoxicillin, practically the most common antibiotic during cold and flu season, so I've had to go to a different CVS. read more
