Most CVS's are the same. However, at this one, parking is tight and the pharmacy takes forever to fill you prescription.

Really disturbed that the website has the incorrect hours. Unacceptable for a corporation this size.

The Newtown Boro CVS is clean and prices are average but the sales are good. The service is painfully slow...not just one time...EVERY TIME.

I have had nothing but trouble at this Rite Aid with what normally should be a very simple task. There are usually delays and several other weird/strange problems, and I just have had to put up with this. However, the last time I picked up the pills, I noted only 11 pills were filled. I had no verbal or written explanation for this. I stopped in to the store the next day and asked the manager Joseph, and Bijal, the female pharmacist (from India ? ), for a written explanation. Even though I requested face to face a written explanation, so far I have had no verbal or written explanation whatsoever. I happened to read an article about pharmacists who steal drugs/medications and am placing the link here. I plan to file a complaint with the local police and I will go to the top if necessary. I suggest that people start counting the pills they they are paying for, they might be surprised at what they find. Be wary and stay away from this very bad pharmacy. This is an update on 10/23/22: I tried to call the responder, Pam, and gave up after sitting on hold for a half hour! I have not yet gotten an explanation for getting only 11 pills when 60 were prescribed! Again, stay away from this pharmacy from hell! They don't care about the criminal behavior of their staff! https://therooster.com/blog/stealing-rampant-some-go-pharmacy-access-drugs Marion Schwartz, RN,BSN,MSN,CPM, Full scholarship for both bachelor's and master's degrees, University of Pennsylvania, and post grad studies at Duke University. It must be working as these modern day behemoths are spreading like a bad cold (poor pun). This one does a decent job getting my prescriptions out quickly, and the drive thru option is a nice touch for those unable to park a car or walk into the store. The crew is friendly and helpful. Too, I have been known to pick up a chocolate bar in the candy isle, and a birthday card in the excessively large greeting card isle. I bow to modernity, although I miss the personal touch of the old fashioned Rexall (now a cool Starbucks here in Newtown).

I will start of by saying that the staff here is great and the store is always easy to navigate. It is a bit older of a store so it's a little dark inside but it is also always busy which makes it feel much more lively. they have extensive produce, a large cheese section and prepared food section. Their bakery is nice as well. Actually their cookies are some of my favorite grocery store cookies. The prices can be a bit high but when they have sales they are usually fairly good. I feel like it's a slightly "fresher" and "healthier" store but I have had a hard time finding more unique healthy items. Overall it's a great store, it's not my local store but it's nice to pop in when I'm in the area to pick up some items that the stores near me don't carry.

I watched her interactions with the two guests ahead of me and was honestly surprised by how unhappy and disengaged she appeared. There were no smiles, no warmth, and her overall demeanor gave the impression that she disliked her job, disliked dealing with customers, and simply did not want to be there. As a business owner myself, I understand how important customer relationships are. The checkout counter is often the final impression a guest leaves with, and something as simple as a friendly smile or kind interaction goes a very long way when customers are spending their hard-earned money. I am from out of town and expected much more from what appears to be a boutique-style grocery store with a strong community feel. Stores like Trader Joe's are a great example of how positive, friendly interactions at checkout can completely elevate the customer experience. I even went so far as to ask Delaney if she was having a bad day, and the glaring stare I received in return ultimately prompted me to write this review. To be clear, I am not looking for anyone to lose their job. I simply believe some coaching in guest relations and customer interaction could make a tremendous difference. Delaney is very young, and I genuinely hope she either finds more joy in what she's doing or moves into something better suited for her personality and interests. Constructive feedback is meant to help businesses improve, and I hope this is received in that spirit.

The inventory is definitely focused on wine from around the globe, with enough American vintages to honor most of the west coast vineyards. Not much from the East. That oversight is corrected by their bourbon/whiskey aisle which offers an interesting dive into some of the secondary and tertiary distilling from some of the older and larger southern industrial stills. I was there to restock our supply of Amaretto and sipping bourbon which we had been enjoying at home during this prolonged pandemic. Those Amaretto Sours were a big hit, and Wild Turkey Honey shots were great with hummus, baba ganoush and fava beans. The staff was knowledgeable, masked and they packed everything well. While the choices are not as extensive as the big stores in Jersey (think Joe Canal's), and because it is Pennsylvania, lacks any beer, this Premium Selection Fine Wine house is attractive and much cleaner than the competition on the other side of the Delaware River. Given the choice, cost of fuel and extra time needed for crossing the bridges, this emporium offers a reasonable alternative without leaving town.

Newtown, Bucks County, Pa., has been around since 1683, when this then wild area was first visited…read moreby William Penn as the master plan for his land holdings north of Philadelphia started taking shape. His vision was that the grand city of Philadelphia would need summer homes for its gentry to escape the stifling heat/humidity, and that farming would be essential to feed them and those left behind in the City of Brotherly Love. He called this new place, his "New town." "Newtown," as it became known, was Bucks County Seat for almost 90 years, until growth to the north suggested that government be more centrally located. It was the center of revolutionary activities in 1776, and Geo. Washington was known to have spent time there between the surprise attack Battle of Trenton, and the following Battle of Princeton. Less well known is that this area was not universally in favor of independence from Britain. There was a strong loyalist element, due in part to the Quaker majority belief in non-violence and "giving unto Caesar..." opposing the war of independence. This also generated certain outlaw activities by the Doan family of Plumstead, Pa. The brothers and cousins of Moses Doan organized as spies for the British, and supported themselves by robbery and horse thievery - selling hundred of steads to the Redcoats, and informing on the plans of the rebels. In fact, Moses learned of Washington's plan to cross the Delaware on Christmas Eve and attack the Hessian Barracks in Trenton, and rode to warn Col. Rahl on Christmas Eve Day, 1776. Rahl was already too drunk to meet with Doan, and never read his message. Still, the Doan Gang was not done. They later robbed the Bucks County Treasury in Newtown and got away with 1,300 pounds coin sterling, which were never recovered, and lie hidden somewhere in the hills and vales of Bucks. Most of the Doans were eventually captured, killed or hung by the successful new Americans. A few escaped to Canada. Doan was a Robin Hood to some (stealing from and killing tax collectors), and a criminal to others. Time has passed gracefully, and Newtown is now a charming historic town with a peaceful demeanor and many shops and restaurants that make it a wonderful weekend destination. State Street is walkable and memorable. In 2011, it was voted a top 10 small town place to live in the USA. It is easy to imagine walking State Street in revolutionary times, and drinking/eating in the taverns that were already in business and remain so over the centuries.
