CVS Pharmacy - Long long line at pharmacy's - Drugstores Near Me - Mount Vernon, New York

Up until today I had been coming to this pharmacy since the day they opened. In the last year or so I've noticed bare shelves, an unusual amount and types of things locked up- but mainly bare shelves. Back in April a medication was prescribed for me- and CVS sent me a text saying they were contacting my physician in regards. When I questioned it I was told they were awaiting a reply. Moving onto July 2nd now, a much required medication was prescribed for me and I was told each day through the holiday weekend that CVS was waiting for a refill. I had yet to receive my first scrip. After calling the Dr office and texting nurses and clinicians- several electronic requests went through and CVS each time denied receiving them. My Nurse eventually called them directly and put the order through. 9 hours later I respond to pick up the order and was told I need to speak to Drop Off after waiting in line 24 minutes. The young lady basically tells me it wasn't started bc it's not paid for by insurance. I tell her I'm aware and that I will pay for it. It's 90 tablets, 6 refills, no small scrip. It's been 5 days of actively pursuing this mind you. I'm at the register- my meds come out in a bag- I pay, go home and open the bag to discover it's not 90 pills, but rather 09. I return and show them the scrip, ask them how could the instructions provided even account for a 3 day regiment, let alone 30 days with a total of 9 pills. So it was determined an error on their end was made and I waited another 45 minutes. The counter girl wanted to take the old 9 pills back and the pharmacist said I could keep it. I asked were there 90 pills in that container or 81. The cash register associate told me the bottle says 90, so there's 90, so I had 99 total. The pharmacist chimes in there are 81. Back to 90. ....at least it's not 89.... or 09. Sloppy. If the container held 81 because I had 09 in another bottle- let it be so! I am convinced now that the delays I experienced with the electronic scrip service was in fact CVS in its entirety. Someone was deleting scrips, or at the very least entering it wrong. This displayed a lack of attention to detail in doing a job right. Some personal integrity, is sorely lacking at this pharmacy as of late. This is what sinks companies. I will never again shop at this store. I will take my business to the other store on the north end where shelves are always fully stocked, and mistakes like this are unheard of. read more

I was doing some shopping in lovely mount Vernon(sarcasm) and made a quick stop at the local CVS and wow it has many bad yelp reviews . To be honest after my short time inside this particular CVS , I must say it's not bad ,typical CVS overall and I didn't need to visit the pharmacy department but besides that , store is well stock and organized and a bunch of sales storewide made me spend a little more . Checkout was quick and I actually had a cashier who was nice and gave me a hello , thank you and goodbye . So I am giving this mount Vernon CVS 4 stars on my yelp meter and I am glad I have a plastic spoon to munch on ice cream while it's 15 degrees inside the car . read more

I had a disappointing experience with Dr. Chan today at CVS PHARMACY on Sanford Blvd. I arrived at 10 AM, following the instructions given at the drive-through window, which told me it was closed and I needed to go inside. I provided Dr. Chan with the reason why I was there and she said I cant find your appt, it wouldnt be under your confirmation #, give me your full name & DOB then said you have to pay I told her no its free, she said no its not, then walked away, and attended to other tasks and patients. She misunderstood what I was there for and did not address my concerns at all. When she finally acknowledged me at 10:20am, she told me to go back outside to the drive-through, which felt incredibly dismissive and unprofessional. I felt completely disregarded and my time was wasted. I sincerely hope her behavior isn't influenced by BIAS as it left me feeling undervalued. Overall, I was very disappointed with this experience and will seek care elsewhere. read more

This Pharmacy need structure, and management. After 3 weeks had to change pharmacies in order to get my medications and have it covered by my insurance. Completely discombobulated. read more

Well-staffed with professional pharmacists and cashiers. Good experience from beginning to end. The pick up line can be long, but they are working hard to get everyone in and out quickly, and they are very kind and patient with confused/impatient customers, including myself. read more

The worst... lazy, slow staff. Spent almost an hour and a half waiting for a prescription that was told to me that would take 15mins. I left, came back and went through drive through after almost an hour. Now I'm back in store and it's still not ready. read more

Pharmacist talking to someone I assume Is friend or family member on her cell phone, seems like I interrupted her call by standing there waiting. she was rude and dismissive when I tried to speak with her. Go somewhere else they don't want to be bothered. read more

I have never used this pharmacy before today. My doctor said she knew they'd have the medication I needed. She placed the prescription and I received a text that said it was ready and 10 dollars. I went there. They couldnt find it...it was lost. Ummkay? The pharmacy is a mess, piles of paper bags. After 10 mins of people throwing and rummaging bags around they told me my large prescription (boxes of injectibles) was lost. Wow. Thanks. At 8 mo preg I def want to drive back there on Tuesday considering I live 15 mins away and work full time etc. I will never use this place again after my need for this current medication is over. read more

Awful customer service. From the so called manager to the manager above him are extremely non-chalant and extremely rude especially if u commit the ultimate crime of returning an item without a receipt. My 3rd and last time stepping foot in the this CvS. The store manager made it clear he is " doing you the CUSTOMER a favor " by accepting your item you purchased with your $ as a return. Rude pharmacy tech in a predominately Black city. The store and cash wrap at the pharmacy are insanely filthy first of all, the ONLY reason you'd come here is for the drive thru pharmacy which is NEVER open, or always has some operational issue. This morning was the last straw. Drive thru that looks like a beat up truck stop not open AGAIN, long line, dirty floors, indifferent pharmacy techs. I pick up my medication and try to pay with my phone which is denied. From behind the partition in a busy store, I thought she said that my FSA card didn't work, I'd been having issues with the new card so no big deal, I begin apple pay with a different card then she shouts at me spitting out each word with an attitude as if she's speaking to an idiot and looking at me with that same energy 'THE SIGN SAYS TAP DOESN'T WORK!' I was stunned that this interaction went from 0 to 50 at 9am but looked up to see a barely legible white paper taped up to an already cluttered partition reading 'tap doesn't work'. Oh, ok, got it, but that could've been managed so much better. Had I been white, had this been Pelham or Bronxville there'd be no way she would've acted as if she was disciplining a dog. I tried my FSA on the pad, it still didn't go through so I used a bank card, I was still reeling. When it finally went through I grabbed my meds and receipt from her and she laughed telling the next customer that I was mad because my card didn't work. No, I was angry with her tone and her privilege in thinking she could speak to me the way she did. I didn't go back to confront her or complain to management because I would've been late and this is where Karen's call the cops and my solution is not to argue with trash but to stop paying people like her and take my business elsewhere which it seems enough people are doing. But FYI, management needs to address this stat and note that not every customer walks away when confronted with a nasty attitude. read more

I always go to the pharmacy. The young people back there are courteous but they talk too much, when they should be helping the customer. I want to pick up my prescription and go not listen to all this chattering. The store is also a little dirty. I have seen very thick dust. Yuck! read more

I am a doctor. I transmitted a prescription for a common post-op pain medication (oxycodone with Tylenol) to this pharmacy, and they didn't have it. My patient had to search for another pharmacy right after his surgery. In my opinion, a pharmacy that doesn't carry this common pain medication probably shouldn't be in business. read more

Terribly understaffed. Was there on a Saturday with only one lovely but under-trained cashier and a manager who was completely MIA and overwhelmed, and also did not know how to do some things the cashier needed help with. read more
